But mostly Trump, as much as he is able, is not "uniparty", which is why the whole mechanism is fighting so hard to reject him. If Trump was part of the uniparty, they wouldn't mind him getting elected and we'd just continue our cadence of swinging back and forth between the parties. It's unfortunate that several of the biggest libertarian voices in the UA-cam and podcast spaces were sore losers, and pulled Chase Oliver down when he was nominated instead of building him up when a lot of momentum could have been given. (Primaries are a good time to focus on weaknesses, then put your disappointment aside and highlight the strengths of the nominee once they get selected)
Also "libertarian media" and these other same individuals will spend hours analyzing the same establishment candidates like we here from corporate media, but with a libertarian view, and almost never even mention updates for the LP candidate. If we can't even get LP voices to give 5-10% of their time of election coverage to cover the LP candidates, we're never going to get anywhere.

The worst parts were … most of what Dr. Laffer had to say. This was just trash. Probably the biggest nonsense is the idea that the idea that the Houthis or any terrorist (and similar) group would be intimidated by “peace through strength”.
Hamas just got obliterated by Israel, and everyone knew it was going to happen. Peace through strength didn’t stop Hamas, but Israel continuing to expand the settlements, which Trump effectively supported, helped to antagonize them. And no, I’m not justify their attack, I’m pointing out how ridiculous Dr. Laffer’s position is.
Also, it’s so incredibly dishonest to pretend that Trump is a free trader. He’s not. Nothing he has said or done has ever even remotely supported that idea. And all of that just makes me think Dr. Laffer is seeing what he wants to see out of Trump. Or he’s just being dishonest.

That wasn't a protest, it was a riot that caused injuries, deaths, and millions of dollars in damage. It also disrupted the ability of the US Congress to certify the election, which was the entire point. Trump lied over and over again about the election being stolen, and he whipped his supporters into a frenzy with comments like this; "We fight like hell. And if you don't fight like hell, you're not going to have a country anymore,"
I have no doubt that if Biden had done the same thing, you Trump supporters would be saying the same thing. @howardroark3736 Місяць тому

I think not only Trump believes that having barriers up can give you an advantage, but so do the leaders of almost every country in the world. That’s why they have barriers. Probably, over the long term, there is *some* advantage. China has developed its industrial base very quickly with trade barriers up. So have a number of other countries.
Economic theory says that trade barriers are bad for the country that keeps them up, but the lesson of history may be more nuanced. The United States has seen manufacturing account for an increasingly small share of employment, and so has Europe. We still have service jobs, because those can’t be shipped overseas, but many of those jobs are less valuable in terms of compensation. European economic growth has stagnated despite sharing a large regional common market. Countries like Spain have had high unemployment for years.
All of which is to say, there are clearly factors at play here that theory is not accounting for. In the long term, encouraging manufacturing growth within your own country’s borders may have some positive impact that has been harder to nail down.

People who say your vote doesn't matter are plain and simply wrong. Sure, your vote almost certainly won't be the vote that decides who wins or loses, but in the short term, the larger the plurality, the larger the perceived mandate for the winner. In the long term, you should vote for what you want to see more of in the future.
Politics is like any other free market and a voter is like any other consumer - the system will provide candidates designed to appeal to consumers. If enough people vote green, you will see greener candidates next time; if enough people vote libertarian, future candidates will pay more lip service to libertarian ideals. You're a consumer - don't let the producers bully you into believing in some false dichotomy. The only time you waste your vote is when you vote for someone you don't like.
That said, the candidate you vote for also tells future candidates what you will tolerate. If a candidate does something unforgiveable, such as refusing to graciously concede when he loses the election, voting for him tells future candidates that it was really no big deal.
As such, I likely won't be voting Libertarian this year, particularly since I live in a swing state ... in 2024, I've decided that repudiation is the highest and best use of my vote.

That is a mistake. Pro-trade means unilateral zero tariffs. It means that I will null my tariffs and you do whatever you like.
I didn't like that Chase didn't give this answer.

LOL what???? There would literally be no free trade, if only America had zero tariffs. We’d stop being producers! Talk about getting things backwards . The only free trade we’d have, is IN America. But we are a global player, and you seem to only be able to look at it American centric. It’s absurd for you to claim America shouldn’t push for FAIR trade. Trump was 100% right. We import a lot. If we increase our tarrifs, it would hurt all the other countries more. He didn’t WANT to increase tariffs. He wanted them to know, that he WOULD do so. You’re CLEARLY not a businessman.

47:16 First time Chase has actually made me angry- I agree with much of his sentiment, but we shouldn't have been telling Israel to worry about "world perspective". We should have been stepping in and saying "Let us do some of the (dirty) work because your people are too emotional about this right now (and frankly, you should be or you wouldn't be human)." If we had offered to help, we could have had a cleaner fight in Gaza and we wouldn't have all of these "Genocide" (rubbish) protests because everyone would know we were coming to stabilize the situation by removing Hamas, not wipe out the people of Gaza.
Doing so also would have defanged Netanyahu, as his party thrives on being able to paint Hamas as the bad guys instead of looking around at his own administration. By leaving the situation as it was, we guaranteed Netanyahu more time in office and that more Gazans suffered. There are times to stay out of conflicts, but when your ally is attacked and you make them fight it out on their own when they've been kicked in the civilians, that is not the time to back away and just send weapons.

How many years did you serve? How many days and nights have you spent on suicide watch with Marines who came back from combat in pieces: emotionally, physically, mentally, and spiritually? How many of your brothers died fighting a senseless war? How many of your brothers committed suicide because of the trauma experienced fighting a senseless war? Finally, what is your disability rating? If your answer is zero to any of those questions then put up or shut up. If your answer is zero to ALL of those questions, then simply shut the f**k up.

I went Libertarian in 2008. MAGA republicans seem closest to the mark that I most closely align with at present. Current Libertarian platform (post Ron Paul) seems like a See Eye Aye cutout, meant to keep a percentage of the population spinning their wheels & buying into some trash leftist philosophy. Will vote Trump a third time.

I don't know when a third party candidate will actually win electorally. It sure isn't 2024. The closest in my lifetime was Ross Perot and even then, I don't remember him winning any electoral thingys. But he sure was fun.

It's never going to be "the right year" or do you think things will be better next election LMFAO the economy and social chaos will be WORSE next time so it's always the right year to start voting for more freedom.

@@LibertyPlusTV you have one candidate that can win that was against the invasion of Iraq, against the affordable care act, against auto bailouts and against mandated vaccination. That list doesn’t hit everything a libertarian wants but can you think of a better list belonging to another viable candidate?
