I had SMILE laser eye surgery 7 months ago. I had “somewhat dry” eyes prior to surgery but the eye doctors said I was still a good candidate. I now suffer from blurry vision due to the poor tear quality caused by the surgery. I struggle to read small text and driving at night is dangerous. I regret getting it done big time! If you have even remotely dry eyes do not get laser eye surgery!!
Update: Its now over 3 years since surgery.
Unfortunately things just got worse and worse. Over 3 years since the surgery. I am unable to work, be outdoors due to intolerance to moving air and have extreme dry eyes. My corneas have no sensation due to the cut nerves and I have neurotrophic keratitis and chronic pain. I have been on steroid drops since the surgery and am at high risk of cataract formation and glaucoma. I have also been on blood serum drops for over 2 years. Doctors say there are no real treatments available for me and I need to learn to live with this disability. My vision is terrible. My glasses help the myopia and astigmatism a little but I feel partially sighted now. This industry is disgusting.

Go to a reputable place for Lasik. Dont go to those places offering it for 300 bucks an eye. Where i went did in depth testing on my eyes, they offered 3 different types of procedures and based on your eyes they tell you whats best for you and why. I had SBK lasik and the next morning my vision was at 20/15, and it stayed there. They told me before i had the procedure that i would more than likely get to 20/15 due to having healthy eyes.
And be careful about using insurance to help you pay for the procedure. Sometimes insurance companies only pay for certain procedures despite the fact that that particular procedure may not be best for you. Thats another factor that can play in to how likely you are to not get optimal results. Where i went was cash only, and that was their reasoning, they refused to let insurance companies dictate procedures to patients.
Just be smart about doing it

It was a life changer for me. They had to help me to the chair to have it done after ask me what time did the clock (420 pm )say I didn’t even know there was a clock in the room. Thanks, I needed that. I'm having it tomorrow, and I've done so much research that I've scared myself into canceling it, with all the horror stories out there. I get that they are a "small percentage" of the outcome. But, what if I'm in that percentage? I won't care how small it is if I'm one of them.
My vision is 20/500 though, and if I was like 20/200 or something, there's no way I would get it. But, I can't see anything when I do activities w/o my glasses, and it's pretty depressing. So, hopefully, it's worth the risk. But, one of my biggest concerns is late onset corneal ectasia. I don't want the flap to start go give way 10years from now, and there's nothing that can be done!! Of course, there are plenty of other risk, but that's one I'm really worried about.

My first job out of school was in the neighborhood of a terrible lasik surgeon. I fit so many hard lenses on those sad, angry patients. Great learning experience for me, bad for my patients. Fortunately the surgeon lost his license (for financial malfeasance, not crappy surgery). I’ve also seen patients become myopic again afterwards, or develop double vision, or horrible dry eye. While these complications are rare, “it’s not rare if it’s in your chair” as my professors opined. Based on what I’ve seen, I would never get lasik. I always tell my patients that I’m biased because of what I’ve seen, to do their due diligence, ask LOTS of questions, go to a doc who has done many many procedures, and avoid the discount lasik mills.
Thanks for putting this info out for people. It will save me tons of time at parties, I’ll just sent folks to your channel.

I just got surface laser eye surgery done last week which I think is LASEK. I was referred to LASIK too but a surgeon recommended me to get surface laser instead. So far I am so happy with the results no dry eye, no glare, no halo and no starbursts. The surgeon actually said it is better to get surface laser instead of LASIK or Smile due to the fact of it being around for a lot longer and it regarded more safe. Great for athletes and people who have more of an active lifestyle.

I got lasik in Nov 2022 at 55 years of age. I chose it because I was born without a left ear so wearing glasses was a challenge and my eyes wouldn't tolerate contact lens. I did my research for 2 years before I did this.
Right eye went perfect from 20/60 (with astigmatism) to 20/15 without astigmatism (although I lost all of my near vision immediately) and left eye, went from 20/50 to 20/200 because the "suction cup" thing created a huge abrasion in the lower left corner of my eye (outside the field of vision) because they went so FAST and pushed it on too hard. I could not see far or near at all.. afterwards for months....it was like looking out of a very dirty window. Not to mention I had a huge abrasion that HURT SO MUCH and you can't take pain killers for that because they don't work on eye nerves. I was in pain for over 2 months and had to wear a protective lens in that eye for most of that time and could not drive at all due to the massive difference in vision (the eye they damaged was my dominant eye).
They had to go back in and do a manual "debriding" (scraping) of all of the "gooey cells" that sloughed off of my eye from the abrasion 2 months later which set me back again for healing.
It took 6 months before the left eye healed and now I am at 20/40 in that eye... so not much improvement over where it was before all this AND I now have horrible near vision from close up all the way out past my hands (holding my arms out). This means I now need to wear glasses ALL of the time when trying to do anything close up, even to work on a computer. (never had to before). I have gotten used to the difference in vision 20/40 left and 20/15 right and can drive at night without glasses but like I said, I have to wear them more than I ever did before because of loss of near vision. AND the near vision loss is different in each eye so a single pair of reading glasses doesn't work either (need 3.0 ones for the left and 2.25 for the right . I have modified several pairs by popping out the right lens of my 3.0 ones and putting a 2.25 one in to compensate). They never told me that would happen. And I am an artist and need to see close up. UGH.
I also have dry eye but not too terrible.. enough though that I have to use drops almost every day. I also have starbursts at night but it is doable - they did tell me this may happen. I hope this clears more as time goes on.
However, after all is said and done, I am DEFINITELY a "wish I never had done this" Lasik recipient. NOT WORTH IT!

I had LASIK after it came out. I had very poor nearsightedness and needed this option. However, when I got the surgery I could see so far I was elated, every leaf, every nook and cranny on a mountain side, BUT, I could not see up close. I now needed to get glasses to see to cook, to read, to see the dashboard, anything up close. So I trade one pair of glasses for another. However, my vision started leveling off. I lost far vision and gained back the near. No longer needing the glasses to see close. BUT I knew how much distance I was losing, I wanted that super distance. Over the years with age I have lost distance and gotten glasses, not the old coke bottles, but still need glasses. When diving or snorkeling I use one contact lens for distance underwater. The brain just works it out so you're not trying to work it, you just see naturally out of what ever you're seeing. The eye has a memory, so the shape of the eye is changed when you get LASIK, but it remembers and returns to the shape you were born with, just like getting braces for your teeth, you need to wear a retainer, to retain the new straighten teeth. same principle. I wondered about getting LASIK in one eye like wearing the one contact lens but the eye dr said scarring the LASIK leaves would not be recommended depending on the thickness. I want the super distance.Oh well, new eye glasses here we come.

The most important reason NOT to get Lasik Eye Surgery is the first step in the procedure is they get you to sign a waiver form that absolves them legally from any responsibility if things go wrong after the surgery. And guess what - a significant percentage of patients suffer bad side effects like 1. permanent dry eye syndrome 2. permanent vision distortions such as halos , glare and double vision 3. Significant undercorrection, overcorrection or regression 4. infections 5. other complications - do your research before getting surgery. 6. eye glasses have no known bad effects on the eye itself. 7. laser eye surgery is quite expensive - over $3000+ for both eyes. I have a good friend who got laser surgery and he now suffers from permanent dry eye syndrome and it has been 5 years and no change. I have the money for laser surgery no problem but I choose to wear glasses.

I am part of that 1% who regrets getting LASIK. I have night vision issues, and floaters in my right eye that I didn't have before surgery. Is there anything you'd recommend for the night vision issues / ghosting? I've seen a company called Laser Fit, based in America (I'm from the UK) who do custom scleral lenses. I've also looked into Zeiss i.Scription wavefront glasses. I wish I was as cautious and knowledgeable about the risks of the surgery as you are, back when I had it done. It is indeed a gamble.

It's a way higher percentage than 1% of people have complications. I developed over a dozen complications within about a 2 year time span from PRK. Scleral lenses do little to help improve my vision but I'm a worse case than most. Dr. Boshnik in Miami is one of the best at designing scleral lenses for people who have issues after refractive eye surgery.

    • @sarahmcswan
      @sarahmcswan Рік тому

@jamesmazza677 I agree with you 💯. I belong to a group online for post Lasiks complications. I belong to several. I got to talk to Dr. Boshnik in Miami and he said the best possible treatment is scleral lenses. He said whatever you do don't let them talk you in to having an "enhancement" or "touch up". That's just another word for another surgery. I spent 1200 on my scleral lenses but they need to be refitted. I actually consider myself "lucky" compared to many out there because at least for now my vision is ok. I just have terrible eye pain that never goes away. Sometimes the eye pain is excruciating. It's been so debilitating. I'm going to see a Doctor at New England Eye Center who actually believes his patients and recognizes that yes there are people out there that suffer from extreme, debilitating eye pain and severe vision problems since having lasiks. He doesn't just throw dry eye RX EYE drops at you. He actually uses a confocal along with many other tests to get to the root cause of the severe ocular eye pain and treats it. To actually heal the corneal nerves that Lasiks damaged. He's written and published papers about the severe complications related to Lasiks. The complications are grossly under reported. If you haven't already tried Serum drops, if you can try them!! They are the only thing that has helped somewhat
That and scleral lenses. Good luck

One of my best friend's in high school had a stepfather who was the premier eye surgeon in at least our county, not a major metropolis or anything but he is very smart. I had a chance to talk to him about Lasik one night after we were hanging out and one of the biggest things he talked about Lasik was that it actually leaves a permanent flap (where they cut) on your eye.
If you are active and he especially brought up going to the beach or golfing, there is a chance that you could get a nasty irritation if not infection from even a grain of sand getting lodged under the flap. I was 17 at the time and that is how I understood him so I could be mistaken on the particulars, but he was not a huge fan of people choosing Lasik surgery for that reason.
If I had to boil it down to one of the 3 points of determination for Lasik that Doctor Eye Health brought up here, it would probably be expectations. People didn't expect there to be negative consequences of Lasik and there are.

I used to wear contact lenses for near sightedness: 20/600 or also notated as -6.5. Then I had Lasic surgery in 2000 and saw 20/20 right away! It was amazing. I had some astigmatism too but it as not corrected. But I loved my result. Slowly from age 48 - 54, reading vision required some help, but used drug store readers for a minimal correction. Now, 19 years later, the astigmatism has worsened and my reading vision has gone from readers @+1.25 to +2.5. Although I seldom wear glasses I have recently purchased progressives which allow me to see better for night driving and going to the theatre.

So now at 41 I wear contacts / glass and see around 20/60. Still WAY better then 20/600 where you can't see anything if its 6 inches away from your face, they had to have the huge black lines on the eye chart and ask me what direction their going, that this how bad they were before lasik.

I had RK at age 25. I was at -7. Immediately after RK I developed glaucoma. By age 26, I was on timolol and Alphagan and my pressure was still in the 20’s. At the age of 34 I had iridotomy in the left eye but made no difference in the pressure. By then I was on 3 different eye drops. At age 44 I had cataract surgery on both eyes. The pressure lowered a bit after cataract surgery but was short lived. At age 46, I had Yag laser capsulotomy. At age 50, I had SLT and made no difference invthe pressure. Age 51 my pressure in the right eye was often 34 and left eye18 with 4 different eye drops. Total 8 eye drops per eye per day. I Am still 51 and had infocus microshunt by Ike Ahmed in May 2019. Now my right eye pressure is between 8 and 12 without any eye drops. Left eye is between 18 and 24. Ike will perform Omni on my left eye in just a few days. I have floaters since the age of 12 approx. Now my floaters are so bad that I no longed drive in big cities. My vision is about 20/25 but when the floaters go in front, my vision may be as bad as 20/100. Move my eye back and forth and voila I have 20/25 vision again for about 3 seconds. Try driving like that in rush hour. So my question is, would it be worth the risk for me to get a vitrectomy? Am I more at risk because of all the surgeries I had?? Also like to mention that my health is very very good.

Still highly risky today and doesn’t reduce the risks of high-myopia-related conditions such as retinal detachment. Also isn’t a permanent fix, as your myopia can still progress. In other words, it is, in effect, cutting a minus lens permanently into your eye, so lens-induced myopia can still occur further if you don’t adjust your vision habits.

You're right by saying that it's "like an alternative to LASIK" because of the happy side effect that makes your myopia go away during the day (up to a certain limit), but the MAIN reason for doing it is to PREVENT the progression of myopia. There aren't many things out there today proven to reduce myopia progression, but ortho-k is probably the best! More people (specifically parent's of young myopes) need to know about it...

CRT lenses, or Corneal Refractive Therapy lenses, are a type of contact lens designed to correct nearsightedness (myopia) without the need for glasses or daytime contact lenses. Here’s how they work:
Nighttime Wear: CRT lenses are worn overnight while you sleep.
Corneal Reshaping: These lenses gently reshape the curvature of your cornea, the clear front surface of your eye.
Daytime Vision: When you remove the lenses in the morning, your cornea retains its new shape for the day, allowing you to see clearly without the need for glasses or contact lenses1.
CRT lenses are particularly beneficial for people who:
Want to avoid wearing lenses during the day.
      Find soft contact lenses uncomfortable.
Are too young for LASIK surgery or are not suitable candidates for it1.

Blurry Vision: It’s common to have blurry vision during the initial adjustment period, which can last up to two weeks2.
Eye Infections: There’s a slightly higher risk of eye infections compared to daytime soft contact lenses3.
Slower Healing: Extended overnight wear can slow the natural healing process of the eyes3.
      Permanence of Corneal Changes
CRT lenses do not change the cornea permanently. The reshaping effect is temporary and requires consistent use of the lenses to maintain clear vision. If you stop wearing the lenses, your cornea will gradually return to its original shape, typically within 72 hours45.
Would you like more information on how to manage these risks or any other aspect of CRT lenses?

      Antworten für Sie werden generiert…
      Gesendet von Copilot:
CRT lenses, or Corneal Refractive Therapy lenses, are generally safe when used as directed, but like any medical device, they come with potential risks. Here are some key points:
      Potential for Permanent Damage
Rare but Possible: Permanent damage from CRT lenses is rare but can occur, particularly if the lenses are not used correctly or if proper hygiene is not maintained1.
Corneal Infections: Severe corneal infections, if left untreated, can lead to permanent scarring and vision loss2.
Corneal Warpage: Prolonged misuse can cause corneal warpage, which might require a longer period to return to normal or, in extreme cases, may not fully revert3.

Don't get Lasik eye surgery. If something goes wrong. It can't be fixed. Lights at night will look like giant balls of light. Which is frightening. Dry eye... It feels like your eye lid is stuck to eye. Eye drops don't help. If you can see with glasses. You're lucky. Be happy. If you want to take a chance. Do one eye at a time. But I would suggest, not screwing with your vision. Good luck...

I had LASIK 5 months ago, if u ask me "if time can roll back to 5 months ago would u still do it?" i really don't know how to answer it. Ever since i got the LASIK my night vision has dropped big time! But that doesn't really bother me too much, what really bothers me is the double vison! I do coding, and when we code, we always use black background and white font to decrease eye fatigue, but after LASIK, all the white fonts i see has double vison and a bit halo. For example like dark mode on iphone, the black background+white font=double vision. Traffic lights, hotel signs( if it has white lights in it), car's tail lights, AT NIGHT they all have double vision, it just depens on the color of the light to see how bad the double vison will be, so far the worst one is white lights. Also, i have trouble putting on necklace( u need to hook the small end to another end) cuz i can't see clearly with double vision on it going on because the material( some fort of coated metal i assume) of the necklace reflects light off it therefore creating double vision. So i don't know if i will be like this forever or what, because i wasn't like this around the first month, it only started around month 2. But the freedom of seeing very clealy during daytime without glasses is the reason why i said if i have a choice to redo it, will i still say yes, and i won't know the answer for that, cuz it does have good and bad.

I got lasik done 8 years ago at Clarkson Eyecare and am very glad I did. I couldn’t see much without my glasses and I wasn’t able to wear contacts. They did an awesome job and it was done with a laser so no errors would be made. If for some reason you were to move your eye a bit during the procedure the laser would stop and that prevents injury. They tell you when you go in for the consultation whether you would be a good candidate or not and give you realistic expectations. I was told by them that some people do require glasses later in life as they age but they are usually only reading glasses. They worked with me on the cost and allowed me to make payments.

Hey doc, I had intralasik surgery a year ago in august 2022 and since then I’ve had many problems
First I developed huge amount of floaters like 10-20+ big and small while before lasik I didn’t have any maybe like 1-2 sand like ones that I couldn’t even notice..I don’t know (like I can’t remember) if I developed them right after lasik or the next day or with time and I don’t know if they’re getting even worse..
I have since day 1 after lasik very bad night vision, like I literally can’t see in the dark anymore or dim lighting, like the lining of things in the dark and in the dark in general while before lasik even if I didn’t wear my contact lenses I could see incredibly well in the dark like in my room in the dark I could see the objects, the lining etc like it was very good and when I wore my lenses in the dark I could see incredibly well. So I’m wondering what causes this problem? I’ve been researching and it’s supposedly something related to loss of contrast sensitivity because of the optical zone or the natural corneal surface not being smooth anymore or something so I was wondering about this
I have other lasik complications like halos, glare, starbursts and very bad afterimaging/light afterimage like when I look at something like my screens of my phone or laptop I see the afterimage of the light..
I also have other aberrations like my vision isn’t smooth, crisp, clear, like the “hd” feel I had with my contact lenses is gone
Also I have this problem with the sharpness, the clarity of my vision, like how good I can see, I definitely had better vision with my contact lenses before lasik, it’s like the power of what/how far I could see is weaker now I don’t know why..I went to the optician that I always went to get my contact lenses and I supposedly have -0,25 in both eyes and -0.25 astigmatism in both eyes
Before lasik I had -4,5 in left eye and -5,5 in my right eye and -1,25 astigmatism in my left eye.
Like for example I can notice that I can’t read the same letter size things I could see before lasik like for example in my room a few meters from my bed on my desk I could see things with small text, letters and I could even read those smell letters which I now realize most couldn’t but now I can’t anymore as well, I had incredibly powerful vision but now it’s weaker..
Also maybe this is weird to believe but somehow I think right after lasik I developed static vision like I see static in my sight from what I see it’s visual snow syndrome, right? I think only had a kind of static vision at night without my contact lenses in the dark and if I closed my eyes I saw static like as I saw bacteria but it was relaxing, now I see a different kind of static even in day time on white walls especially etc, so did I developed this visual snow after lasik and what can I do to fix this..?
I also went to a eye doctor at a hospital and the eye doctor says I have dry eye syndrome after lasik.
I honestly wish I never got lasik since I have so many problems, I got lasik without any real time to think, my father had gotten laser eye surgery 2 times and I thought it was no big deal and the lasik doctor also told me there is nothing to worry about, no real risks or complications while in reality I have many, I’m just sad that I didn’t do any research, the fact that I didn’t have any time to think also, like I did everything in 1 day..naively going into it and now I’m regretting it a lot..
I went to the eye doctor because I had these problems (I went 3 months ago) and didn’t really do lot of research about my problems so I didn’t know what to exactly say, like what my exact problems were so I could explain them correctly I didn’t really mention my main problems mostly like the eye floaters, bad night vision and the not sharp vision as I had with contact lenses (I told this one but really didn’t get any real solution or answer..) but now I know a lot more so I’m planning to go again but I was wondering, could you explain the night vision problem, what causes it? And what can I do to fix it? It’s so bad also my sight not being as sharp as before lasik, can I get glasses or contact lenses again if I go to another optician as well because mine didn’t want to prescribe me any, he said it’s too low to prescribe..

How did you resolve the haloing? I had lasik 8 years ago and my sight is excellent but I do have the chronic dry eye and I have always had the haloing. I was told that wouldn’t improve though. Are you certain that chronic dry eye caused lash loss? I have had extremely dry eyes since spring bc of allergies and the weather and I haven’t had that problem. I also had lasik done with a laser. Was yours done with a laser or scalpel? The procedures done by scalpel are way too risky in my opinion. The laser is safe and it stops if your eyes twitch or move to prevent injury. I usually don’t respond to posts much but I like to help when I can and I hope this will be helpful. Also, I think the procedure I had was called PKR. That is done with a laser so I think that’s the procedure I had bc mine was done with a laser. I looked at some information on allaboutvision.com. It states that you can still get the PKR procedure if regular lasik failed. I pasted some info on PKR bc I thought it may be helpful for you and I hope your eyesight can be fixed:
“Because PRK surgery does not create a corneal flap (which contains both epithelial and the deeper stromal tissues), the entire thickness of the underlying stroma is available for treatment.
This is of particular benefit if the cornea is too thin for LASIK or if you have undergone LASIK previously and therefore have a thinner residual cornea. There also is no risk of flap complications, and the risk of removing too much of the cornea with the excimer laser is reduced.”
Please note that I am not a dr and am pasting copied quotes from a lasik eyecare website which I mentioned above as well as posting my experience with the procedure. Experiences can vary. I also had mine done at a facility I trusted and had excellent and very knowledgeable doctors that went over the procedure, benefits, risks, possible outcomes, provided realistic expectations and could answer any questions and discuss concerns

Candace Hoke thank you for the info.
I had LASIK in 2008. The haloing resolved itself after a few years (3-4) as did my being able to move the flaps. It was done with a scalpel now that I recall, so maybe that's part of my trouble. Driving at night was complicated because how signs looked and oncoming traffic too. My vision is 20/20 unless I'm super tired or dehydrated, but I have come to need reading glasses as LASIX doesn't address this. The Dr that did it also seemed to be the type that was all about quantity over quality, in hindsight. There were several of us there for surgery and he seemed a little bit rushed. I doubt that if my were to eyes revert back to pre surgery vision I'll have any surgery again. I'll likely just wear glasses, given that I'd be afraid to use contacts out of fear that the flaps would eventually become loose again.
As far as the dry eyes, I have since been told this happens in many cases, more so than what patients are told when risks benefits are discussed. Addressing the lash loss has been the challenge. I'm currently using restasis, been two weeks. My eye Dr thinks that it's due to inflammation from the dry eye due to myobian (sp?) gland dysfunction but I adopted a stray puppy that was left in my neighbor's yard by someone (people are cruel sometimes) at the same time I had the surgery. I recently had something happen that brought to light I have an inflammatory disease, possibly a long term allergy (possibly the dog) so that is being investigated further. Since I had the surgery and adopted the puppy in rapid succession it's hard to tell. I did nuzzle her when I first took hold of her and it felt like a thousand tiny needles went into my face but I assumed she must've came from a dirty house, so I bathed her and didn't put more thought into it. My eye symptoms could be related to her and not the surgery, but without further testing I won't know. I do know she sheds like mad to this day.
I also remember that PRK vs LASIK wasn't really discussed, perhaps one is paid for at a higher rate by the insurance company? After reading what you posted I'm woif I would have been better off with that, but who knows? I can only work with here and now, but I appreciate your time and I hope I answered your questions.

I’m very sorry you had so many issues and were not informed about all of the procedures as well as the risks and benefits of each. Unfortunately a lot of the lasik institutes are all about quantity vs quality. I also read someone’s post that insurance companies dictate which procedures you have to have done for them to cover it and most insurance companies unfortunately go with the cheapest procedures they have regardless of the risks/benefits.i has mine done at Clarkson Eyecare and the doctors were very knowledgeable and experienced. They thoroughly tested and inspected my eyes to make sure I was a good candidate and they explained why I was a good candidate and what causes someone to be a bad candidate. They thoroughly explained the risks vs the benefits and explained all three procedures as well as advising which would be best for me. They provided costs for each but did mention that lower cost procedures may not be as effective or as safe. They explained why a laser is way safer than using a scalpel. They explained what they do during the procedure and advised to take an anxiety medication to ease any worries or anxieties about the procedure. They also provided excellent post procedure care and follow up check ups for 2 years to make sure that everything went as expected, there were few side effects, and that I was happy with the outcome. They worked with me on the cost and I think they allowed me to make payments but I can’t remember for sure. Chronic dry eye can be a common side effect of lasik and if you had dry eye before as is my case, it will worsen. As with any procedure, Pros and cons should be weighed. I felt it was worth it in my case and it’s bothersome a lot of times but manageable. I also have eye allergies and I’m allergic to makeup but wear it anyway bc It makes me feel better about myself so it makes the dry eye worse but I deal with it. I used to take restasis for the chronic dry eye but was recently out on Xiidra which is the other prescription eye drop for it as I hadn’t taken the restasis for over a year and the Xiidra works faster. It can take up to 6 months before restasis becomes effective but only a month or 2 with Xiidra. The downside is that it’s much more expensive so if you don’t have good health insurance it can get pricey. They offer discount cards through their pharmaceutical company for anyone who doesn’t have government insurance but if you have government insurance, for some dumb reason they won’t allow you to get a savings card. Unfortunately if you reside in the US, most people have been forced into Obamacare, which is government insurance and renders you disqualified for the savings program. Grr.
As far as the dog, a lot of people have pet allergies. I take immunotherapy shots for my allergies and I find they help a ton! When I first started them I was allergic to just about everything from grasses, trees, pollen, mold, pets, dust mites, etc. they test you beforehand to know what you are allergic to. After the immunotherapy my allergies decreased significantly. I’m now only allergic to 2 grasses, one or 2 trees(I can’t remember for certain if it was 1 or 2), and only a few molds. I used to be allergic to cats and now I am not. Also, allergies can possibly change every 7 years. Some insurance companies will cover immunotherapy injections for allergies. Also, pet allergies come from dander not the fur itself so they say. If you can’t get immunotherapy there’s always prescription allergy pills, nasal sprays, and eye drops. There also otc versions. I used to use a drop called Zatidor but there are others as well. I hope this is helpful as well and I wish you the best. It’s was very good of you to take that dog in and take care of it even despite possible allergic reaction. Like you said, people really can be cruel and it is quite upsetting. I’m glad there are still good people out there. God bless you. 🙏😊

I have had poor vision in my left eye since I was a kid and was told at lasik I would have had to have it much earlier in life because it is basically shut off at this point so now lasik would essentially turn it back on and if the correction isn’t as good as my right so it would impair my total vison does that make sense to you? It seems logical to me

Edward Ferrill You could end up with double vision. See an optometrist who specializes in treating amblyopia (lazy eye) before even considering LASIK. You can find a local doc at www.covd.org

I was considering lasik, but then I read about how a few people were in such pain after the surgery that they killed themselves. 😕
