Glad you enjoyed the walk down memory lane. I’ve had Ironman watches for a few decades. They really seem to take a lickin’ and keep on... well, you know the rest. Thanks for commenting. 😃
@@BruceAlanR I can NOT get my indiglo tijsx watch on the right proper FUCKING date won't let me set the date won't show just show it being stuck on fucking MONDAY 😡😠😠👿👿👿😤
I received this watch over a decade ago as a gift and it's still working, with the original battery. I cracked the body on it today so instead of waiting for it to quit working due to dust and particles getting inside, I bought a new one. Surprisingly, it didn't have a manual included like it did before. Thanks for this video. Got me up and running in less than two minutes.
I just got a similar watch. After trying to find the manual on the confusing timex manual site, I just searched UA-cam and watched this. So much easier to get the answer I needed :-D
That was great! I really appreciate the quick, clear, and thorough tutorial. Received my Ironman 14 minutes before I watched this and it is set and I know how to use it!
@@BruceAlanR my watch is a little bit different mines a timex indiglo watch. I go into the date it literally DOES NOT FUCKING SHOW for me to set the date just stuck on Monday 😡😠🤬😤
Awesome! Just replaced battery watching the battery video. Thank you! Also figured how to get repeat interval for 30 sec repeats to pace track running. Been going around that mountain a while on this watch, no kids in stores had a clue. So great to see repeat and end etc to set timer from this. Thankful! Taking the time to share this knowledge is much easier than reading instructions … feeling thankful!
Thank you so much for making this! My watch is Women's Timex Ironman Essential 10 Lap Digital Watch - Black T5K523JT and this applied to my watch. So helpful!
This video is wonderful! I just got a new Ironman and went straight here for help. Thanks you. One thing I noticed on my watch...the Chime that you mention at 2:00 minutes turns on and off the hourly chime. 😊 Maybe it does other things, too, as you mention. Thanks for all your help with this video. Superb!
Cool One hi there, so you don’t have to set the chime, but it will automatically chime every hour. I’d like my watch to alarm or chime every hour or every half hour...
Every March and October since I bought this watch (several years ago) I've struggled to work out which buttons to press to change the time on the weekends when Daylight Saving Time either starts or ends. This year, thanks to this video, I will actually *know* how to do it before pressing "Set". Thank you !! :D
Just finished changing my battery - successful thanks to your video, and got some use out of this video too! Thanks for putting together such a thorough tutorial and also for putting the time stamp links in the description.
Fantastic video! After days of considering which smart/fitness watch to buy, I ordered one of these, instead. They last forever and you can change the battery instead of buying a new device. My phone does everything a smart watch can do; I don't need redundant, $$$ devices. Thanks so much for this.
Totally agree! I actually have an Ironman r300 smart watch and during the first year I had to send it back to Timex for repair. It was a headache and took months to get it back… then I had to contact customer support to get it to pair to my phone because in the meantime I got a new phone. 🙄I’m afraid to wear it in the water and despite babying it, the face is scratched and chipped along the edges after a few years. The simple, yet inexpensive Ironman watches are true to Timex’s classic phrase, “Takes a licking and keeps on ticking.”
Thanks. You should get commissions for this. Clearly explained in detail and to the point. will also be changing my own battery in the future. Subscribed.
Glad the video was helpful and thanks for subscribing! I’m hoping to post a full tear down of this watch once I find a new gasket. My gasket got dry and stretched out and the watch took on sea water. While it’s drying out, I’m looking for a new gasket and then will reassemble. These watches are usually pretty resilient. Cheers!
THANK YOU!! You made all this so clear +++ added your text instructions - which I have saved and will save me when I forget. Timex should give you a commission!!
So glad I found this! Thank you! My women's Triathlon watch does not have that start/split button the watch in the video has but I was able to at least use the lower left button to go backwards in time or date when setting (I don't know what to push to advance yet). My watch came with no directions! I've always had directions sent with a new watch. Thank you.
Im heading overseas. The 3 separate times are goin to be a big help. The local time of my hometown, the local time of my homeport, and the local time of the port im in. Bam! Done!
My 2016 model, TW5K86000, saves Chrono sessions. At the finish line, press Stop then hold Recall to put the date and lap times into storage. To Recall a list of your workouts hold the Recall button in when in Chrono mode. The Start and End buttons go through the list of session dates. Then use the Mode button to view the laps and splits in the selected session.
Donald- Thanks for posting this as others will find it helpful. The Ironman Classic models will store multiple chrono workouts by date. I also have a Classic in my collection which I prefer over the Shock model in this video. Unfortunately, the Ironman Shock model can only save the last workout... which is both “shocking” and lame in my opinion. :)
Great Job!!!! I truly think that was the most enjoyable instructional video that I have watched in a very long time. I enjoyed your tone of voice, pace and am very pleased with the perfect flow without any flaw that I noticed along with the huge amount of information offered. Thank You so much! Glad the video was helpful. This watch doesn’t have a speaker. If you’ve turned on the beep in settings and the watch doesn’t beep at all (for example, when a button is pressed), the most common issue is that the back plate was put on upside down after a battery change.
