    Thanks for the great video.
One can't ignore how life can be much easier when it's easier to communicate with the people around you.
I'm also looking into moving/semi retiring to SE Asia. Vietnam seems to offer a lot of great things, as well as lower cost of living, but the people's English proficiency in Philippines is a big factor you can't ignore imo. Also, considering the usual suspects like Thailand.
Still for me, CoL is the biggest factor, and I'm not into the party scene, so I'm still undecided.

Cebu has a small land area for commercial purposes thats why they're building it in just 1 or 2 kilometers from the shore and stretch it all along the coastline. No way they can make a cheap meticulous urban development unless they resort to reclamation. Bacolod City is three times larger than Iloilo City in terms of area. The population of Iloilo City in 2023 is 447,000 based on google, and the population of Iloilo Province exceeds 2 million people. Being the regional and business center of the entire region, Iloilo attracts many people daily from other provinces such as Aklan, Capiz, Antique, and Guimaras who come here to transact in various government regional offices. It is also a major educational center in the entire region, where many people from other provinces primarily come to study.

Bacolod, 70% of population are 3rd or 4th generation are from Iloilo too. Migrants from sugar boom 120 years ago. Iloilo city is pretty much 90% Ilonggo in ethnicity.

It's true it's very peaceful and clean. Been a blessing with these walkable streets. From what I've seen improve, the low-to-no cime rate really has been the biggest surprise. I could walk even in the middle of the night and feel safe on the streets. Check the plazas at night, especially Molo and Jaro Plaza. They are starting to develop the coastal areas heading north and I'm excited. Plus if you really want an active lifestyle this is the place to be. You can visit downtown or metro by just walking beside the esplanade that spans through the Iloilo river.

Iloilo City proper is smaller than Bacolod. It's by design. If you include the outskirts (Iloilo districts), then it's wider. Bacolod City is by designed because of the sugar plantation. It need wider roads, to transport harvest sugar canes to the mill. Iloilo was designed early on because of commerce. The old city is compact. I use to walk around easy and know every street, all the local stores and it's undergrounds. I need a ride in this new Iloilo City. What used to be marsh lands, agriculture lands or strip of lands are now part of the city development. And it's getting crowded.

Besides improvement and new housings, I wish it remains a lay back town. Not the hustle and bustle. The Malls are best places to cool off. But to relax and unwind while eating. Go have lunch in the beaches away from the crowd. We have old and well known restaurants besides the beach. Enjoy a cold soda or beer and enjoy the breeze coming from the beach. That's what I did before moving to the USA. I traveled at dawn from Bacolod to Iloilo, so can I do my errands. Eat lunch in the beach before hitting the 2 pm trip back to Bacolod. Enough time for dinner. Enjoy and have fun.

@@aaronaround I think k foreigners can own a small to medium size business. I remembered that the previous administration put that into law since Charter Change is still out of reach. How I wish they would amend that constitution for more inviting business climate. I still don't know for sure about the ownership but I specifically remembered that Duterte signed that into law.

Festive Mall condos overpriced as hell at 10M. There are no views from the condos other than shacks. No ocean or Bay. They're asking Makati prices without near the amenities.
