  • This is your ultimate guide to Iloilo, Philippines and we are sharing the best eats as recommended by the locals! Iloilo City was recently declared by UNESCO as the first City of Gastronomy in the country-a testament to the city’s dedication in preserving its culinary traditions. Let’s venture into the city’s famous restaurants and hidden eateries that serve the tastiest La Paz Batchoy and the freshest seafood as we learn about the city’s rich heirloom ingredients from Chef Rafael “Tibong” Jardeleza Jr.. But that’s not all, we’ll also be uncovering the secrets of the rare artisanal Miagao “Budbud” Salt that is traditionally handmade in the province!
Aside from the usual spots for Batchoy like Deco’s, Alicia’s, and Netong’s, we also paid a visit to another foodie institution: Roberto’s. This was one of the best surprises of our visit, so stay with us until the end. Do you want to see more of these travel videos? Let us know in the comments below and don’t forget to hit that like and subscribe button! Thanks for watching!

I'm Cebuano, but I actually think that Iloilo has the best cuisine in the Philippines. Sure Pampanga is named the culinary capital, but Iloilo has it better for me. Though I've only been there once, it's the food that I can never forget. I used to be very picky with food, Ilonggo cuisine opened up my palette and made me learn to explore. The plethora of flavour profiles is incomparable I think.

Totoo. As an ilongga, living in cebu for 8 yrs didnt change my ilonggo palate😂. It took me 2 mos pra mag adjust sa timpla ng mga food sa mga carenderia. In restos okay nmn kc standardized nmn ung timpla nila across all branches.

Ilonggo food is uncomplicated but the Ilonggo palette is very picky, hence they only want the best food.

hello featr!!! you really read our comments. thank you that you featured NORA’’S EATERY more in this video. you should come back to try the adobadong alimusan. i’m glad that you tried the abo fish. that’s my late dad’s favorite. dried fish abo that has been place in the basket to get rotten. then it ill be rinsed with water and pat dry and fried in oil as a any dried fish. ILONGGO food really stands because of its simplicity. It took pride with the freshness of the ingredients and the meat, mostly marinated with salt only. GRILLED MANAGAT is the best. the head is best cooked as sinabawan. Again thank you! HAPPY DINAGYANG!!❤❤

I got tired just watching you eat. LOL
On a more serious note, though, thank you for featuring our food and our city. Makes me doubly proud to be born and raised here.
P.S. Salam-ukan is just outside the subdivision I live in, and all that good food in my area now makes me wanna go out and get some! Happy Sunday!

Sustainability ba.
Ps. yung bubod kinda sound like yung tapuy budbud

Please try RML manokan. The most famous manokan here in Capiz. It’s not so known to those who live outside of Capiz kasi di sila nag bbranch out. But over 30 years na sila.
Natira nadin ako ng iloilo and bacolod, but for me, RML parin. Lahat ng taga dito, alam nila RML ang the best.
Sa sobrang sarap ng timpla nila, yung waiter nila na 30+ years nag work sa kanila, nag tayo ng sariling manokan pareho nung lasa sa rml, sikat na din sila ngayon samin.
