Thank you for the videos that you make! They are very helpful. I found on my 2006 Pacifica that there was an additional 10 mm bolt hiding behind power steering pump, for a total of 10 bolts supporting the aluminum timing cover. That was an unexpected surprise LOL
Robert Johnson yeah some vehicles might have some different bolts in places especially when it comes to the intake being that each is different. Otherwise everything after that is basically the same. Thanks for watching and for commenting. Enjoy the weekend and make sure to subscribe
Wondering if the crank pulley bolt could be loosened by leaving the other pulleys and the belt on then breaking it loose while the tension of the belt keeps the crank pulley from moving?
+Hal Fisher There isn't enough tension from the serpentine belt. The torque on the crank balancer is too much and forces the belt to slip on the other pulleys when trying. I wish it was that easy. Plus you need something to hold the crank balancer when tightening as well. Thanks for the suggestion Hal! Make sure to subscribe
Sorry about that.....when making the videos I think if the install is much different then the removal and if not that I just mention it....that way it doesnt become a 10 part video like some of mine lol. Thanks for watching and for the kind words.....again, sorry I didnt include those parts. Make sure to subscribe.
2010 charger 3.5 ....great video very informative...have you ever come across a coolant leak on the left side of the front of engine running down towards thermostat housing seems like its between front cover and engine head...I thought it was the water pump but it looks dry......😞
I have seen a few that leak between the timing cover and block. That might be your location. Make sure to use a pressure tester to find out. Its been awhile since I have seen a leak at this location but I have over the years....certainly a place to check.
Driftwood aquariums expect to pay maybe around $800 to $1200...they wanted $420.00 before taxes around here just for the timing belt kit so I ordered my gates timing belt kit off rock auto instead for $240.00 delivered to my house from the states to Canada ontario
MotorCity Mechanic I have 152,000km on my 2010 Dodge Charger awd 3.5 I can see the water pump leaking a bit down by oil pan and by peeking in the timing belt cover I see crustys also by the compressor
It can be the waterpump and it could be the timing cover seals where it bolts to the block as well. I recommend removing the timing belt front covers and clean everything off....then pressure test and see if the location can be narrowed down.
MotorCity Mechanic can you email me the procedure of removal of the front timing cover to change these 3 seals and whatever You think I may need to change the timing belt and seals.. email is rodneyyerxa@hotmail.com I have the special damper puller and the harmonic balancer proform 66524 thread pitch m12x1.75 8”1/4 in long installer tool
Your videos are the best of them all.
What tool is that called for the pulley and where do I find it
What you do if a neighbor pull timing belt with setting timing?

Are you talking of the cam and crank seals or the timing cover rear coolant seals?
