  • We got a call for a wrecked Polaris out at the sand dunes.
We were surprised to find it standing strait up in the air.
The front suspension was completely destroyed, so loading took a little effort.
After it was loaded and secured, we hauled it to the arc repair shop.

I have watched a lot of your shows, and what I like the most is it is a family show and I don't think I have heard any swear words, and never hear any body arguing or whining, and you all work together and get her dome. I hope it stays that way. It is hard to find any shows that are really PG raited.

Matt, I used to be an OTR truck driver and for a while I hauled truckloads of brand new Harleys in crates. Two layers high in a full trailer. The way you unloaded that Rzr is almost the same way we would unload the crated bikes when a forklift was not available. Many shops would gather everyone from the shop floor and any available customers to help drag the bikes off the trailer. Hook a strap on the crate, everyone hands on the strap and pull, get the thing moving and go faster, while line of people on a 35' strap and jumping out the back of the trailer. It could get pretty comical at times.
One time I parked in front of the shop and a police car pulls up behind me. Officer sitting in the car just watching the show. Shop owner walks up the the car and asks the officer of he's going to watch or help get his bike off the truck? He helped.

This commentary regarding the delicate treatment of what's essentially road trash at that point reminds me of a conversation on a hot afternoon at Sears Point Raceway in Sonoma County CA. I was working as a Safety Marshall on the Crash Crew and talking with one of the tow truck drivers . He was relating an incident from a local freeway at rush hour that was tying up six lanes of commute traffic with three or four trashed commuter cars, some right side up, some not so "up." The CHP officer asked the tow truck driver, "Just how fast can you clear this mess? We need to get these people moving... NOW!!"
The driver said, " Watch this..."
He set the winch to free spool and pulled out about 40 feet of cable. He wove that cable through the windows of the upside down cars and two more that were trying to climb up over each other. He pulled them up to the back of the roll-back deck, maneuvered them crossways on the deck and pulled them up tight up onto the truck bed. He tilted the deck back to level, chained down the load, and was on the move in about twenty minutes. He said they were scrap before he got there and he wasn't going to make them worth any less so he loaded them as fast as possible, cleared the wreckage out of the way and vacated the premises! The CHP officer just waved as he left...

Hey Matt, forget about the step ladder. But back up your trailer right to the exposed belly of the Rzr and step up on the trailer bed. That way you are more protected if it wants to fall on all 4s. Plus your not adding weight and off balancing it. Just looking out for your safety. :-)

Every time I see y'all rescue a side-by-side with broken A-arms, I wonder if it would be easier to use customized Trailer Dolly. Something that you could strap to the front, level back to elevate, and then use a middle ramp to guide it up. You'd still use your winch to actually pull the vehicle up, but it would eliminate the headache of trying to guide the broken frontend up. Just a thought (I might share this thought on a couple other similar videos, since you have so many. I hope you don't mind.) Love your videos!
