Yes, it's the official video, but the video clips are taken from the EPICA 20th anniversary show last year September in The Netherlands and streamed online, where this song was live debuted. First time a sax has been used in an EPICA song. Shining is a Norwegian band, Jorgen is the vocalist, multi instrumentalist, and only original member left. The Alchemy Project, all 7 songs are collaborations, has been out for about a year now. Also from this EP, check out "Sirens of Blood and Water" feat. Charlotte Wessels and Myrkur.
Epica are on fire creatively at the moment. I was there for this in Tilburg and thank **** I've managed to get tickets for the symphonic show next year. I'm coming from the UK but shout out to those who are coming from way further than that
Was there too. Love it that people come from all over the world to see Epica in their special shows, like this 20th anniversary show. Be there next year also. But for me it is only an 1.5 hour drive.
Such a great song!... Such a great band!! 😍😍😍 Saw them live for the first time at their 20th anniversary concert last year. They started at 19.30 or so with Sahara Dust (the band out of which Epica emerged). After that Epica started to play untill 23.30, in between there was only a half hour pause... But Simone sung the whole evening, so from 19.30 up till the end, and she sounded just as good at the end of the evening as at the beginning... almost 4 hours of singing!!! Great show... great evening... great memories!!! Gonna see them next year... then they are on stage with a complete orchestra and choir... can't wait!!!
my favorite songs from this EP are “the great tribulation” feat Flashgod apocalypse (quite a heavy song 😈) and the song “wake the world” featuring the vocalist of the band Kamelot - a great song with a very interesting old school sound
I didn’t know that I could like metal saxophone so much. I think that this should be a separate genre, like cello metal from the band Apocalyptica (by the way, they also have two collaborations with Epica). but the saxophone is very cool, how beautifully it fits this kind of music - it’s a masterpiece. This whole “Alchemy project” EP is absolutely amazing, almost all the songs on this EP have a sound that is not typical of classic Epica and that’s really cool. It's always cool when a group is ready for different experiments and does it super professionally
First time i noticed that Isaac plays a 7-string Les Paul. Didn't even knew they ever built one and wondered if it was kinda heavy modified. But seems they made a model in 2016.
Whohhoo, yehheee! Now when youre going back to good stuff you might go back, way back and check out The Pharao Sails To Orion, live version with the og NW. The real OG so not only og vocalist but basist to. There is a HQ video from Tampere. 🤘🤘🤘🤘
What the hell is wrong with you two - why are you so excited to hear a sax, or wetting yourself hearing doublle beats. Symphonic music can feature ANY instrument - tell me one you haven't heard ?
The saxophone is extremely rarely used in this genre; for example, here I heard it for the first time in symphonic metal. are there any links to songs by other symphonic groups with saxophone? I really want to listen

@@johndreessen7335You‘re lucky. 4 and a half hour drive next year for me. That’s fine. Really looking forward to that show

Hey guys! Great reaction. You Can check any song from AFAS live. I suggest you start with “Code of Life”.
Cheers!
Hi guys, The Netherlands is a small country, something like New York upstate but in metal the U.S. cannot beat us. Nice reactions by the way!

Just being on my way home after an epic Epica concert yesterday (and other band, it was a festival)🎉😅
