I just ordered Tesla Y and.. I already hated door handle. now I saw this video LOL thanks for idea! I think I will buy this. I hate to use my finger as leverage to open door handle.. why can't Tesla have option to offer regular handle is beyond me..
In my country when the Model 3 was introduced, there was an employee in the event whose only job was to teach people how to get in. I also have to teach everyone entering the car for the first time -or sometimes the third or the fifth time... You know the design is bad when people have to be taught to use a door handle.
I was recently offered a set of these to review on my channel, but I politely declined. The problem that I had was that the site offering them to me only had them in black and double the price. Yours are MUCH better at half the price and a choice of color. I also agree that these would be perfect for Taxis, and rideshare companies.
I prefer the flush fit of the originals although I agree it is a pain to get newcomers briefed on how to open the door. My biggest irritation is trying to locate the door handle at night in unlit areas. This is particularly a problem for those of us with the chrome delete handles combined with either black or dark silver metallic paint.
I think this is a great idea, especially for those doing ride-share. Please keep us posted on how these hold up. I was surprised the box didn’t come with an adhesion promoter. I’ve seen that included in many stick-on accessories.
Good point. I usually see a 50:50 inclusion of adhesion promoter on accessories I have received in the past. On items that have a thin strip of tape, I do sometimes see issues. But this one covers the entire surface of the handle.
I just found your video, but unfortunately the links to the product say that it is no longer available in the Gray color. Very disappointed, because that's exactly what i want. Have you ever seen them offered anywhere else and any suggestion on where I could get the dark Gray?
@@MTNRanger HI thanks. I just installed a set from EVANNEX they sent me. Work like a charm and did a video: ua-cam.com/video/f9YrdLClFMw/v-deo.html The real test was my mom, who always cannot figure out how to open the door of my Model 3. Picked her up last week and no issue. She did not say a thing! That to me prove these are worth it!
@@MTNRanger After seeing your video I bought these for my black model y, and I am very happy with them! Unfortuneately one eager passenger trided, after about a month, to open the door when the car was locked so it fell off. Do you have any suggestion what kind of glue/adhesive I should use to stick it back on?
Luckily the handle still moves when the car is locked - it just doesn’t open. So far it’s been strong for the last few weeks - even in 15-20F temperatures.
I wonder if there will be an evolution back to regular door handles. I have a 2021 Toyota and the regular handles feel very ergonomic and convenient. I like the flush look of the handles, so maybe that’s worth it to give the cars that super modern look but I find it annoying when functionality gets sacrificed for style. Not a deal breaker for me though.
Unfortunately, I think aero handles are becoming the norm. There are plenty of different styles and methods. Some better than others. I prefer the solution on my new car where they pop out when unlocked and you can use it like a normal handle.
I would suggest using a heat gun or blow dryer to soften up the double sided tape. Then slowly pull off the handle. I would start at the hinge end. Let me know how it turns out.
@@O.Yos93 I have had these installed for almost three years. They have held up well with no issues. Still attached rock solid. It has been through a few automatic car washes but mostly hand washing.
Thats great now if only people would not handle the glass to open wider or close the door. I roll it down so they have to touch the corner of door and not glass window
Great idea, Elon really was stupid when he thought those utterly stupid stock door handles was a good idea. Whoever let them get into production should be fired.
They look ugly… paint doesn’t match… they increase wind resistance, are now way over priced….. and eventually fall off in hot climates as 3M black adhesive tape softens up.
In my experience that’s not true. A year from 8F to over 100F and no issues. The gray paint matches my car perfectly. My link is still $26. I can’t help you on looks since that is subjective.
If you use the Tesla for UBER or rent it on Turo, a "how do I open the door" issue would be gone with these. Except for how do I get back out... lol
I saw a Model 3 with these handles yesterday. Black on white. Seems like a good for Uber

I'm guessing I know the company! Yes, the Aliexpress option is a good deal.

Its been a year so how are the door handles?
They look and are holding up just like when they were new. No issues.
I wonder if these handles effect your cars range? A great idea for those with with decreased finger/ hand mobility and very handy for rideshare.👍
You didn't see the video? 😅
@@Krylle Yes, 1-2% was mentioned in relation to removing mirrors on a Model S. I didn’t catch the video maker has mentioned range??
@@commuterbranchline8132 Range is affected by efficiency. I really doubt it decreases it by more than 1% (3 miles on a 300 mile range).

I try to keep on top of that, but with several hundred videos, it's tough. I just updated links for Aliexpress and Amazon.
hi are these still working ok?
Would you believe they still work great? I was originally going to remove them after a month. Still going strong and a conversation starter!

On the website now I only see them available in matte and glossy black. Looking for them in blue.
I just tried and both website links have blue available. Maybe try again?

I think it has to do with the rounded chrome edge on the handle. But yes, a mm or two would look better.

This is a step backward design wise, but thank you for making the video.

@@Jigsaw_knows Yes, that is an issue with frameless doors.
Not only the efficiency hit but also the wind noise.
I've noticed no noise and efficiency is way more impacted by other things like wheels/tires and HVAC.
