This explains the play much clearer than the old rulebook and vids. Great job

The shootout explanation was a bit too quick. I got confused there, but I think I got it worked out now. Thank you for this video, it was great as a refresher (haven't played the game in a number of years).

This game is really phenomenal. I hope it stays alive and continues to build a strong player base.

Great work. Gets the basics sorted far faster than I’ve been able to teach them. Especially since I’m still learning the game myself. Awesome, I’ll be using this to introduce new players to the game. I also found a few finer points I wasn’t doing 100% correctly. Thank you.

Thanks for this video. Great job explaining the rules.
As a comment on the rules of the game itself: I have to say though, that while it's cool that they tried to make this game themed with western terms, the game designers did a real disservice to themselves by using so many no intuitive terms like "boot hill, dudes, studs etc.". This unfortunately make this game a lot less accessible than it could have been if they had used better terms and were less word heavy.

You get used to it. Every game has stuff like that.

This is one of those cases where trying to be thematic hurts the learning experience. In a world where almost every card gamer uses “tapping” this game has to say “booting”. Never heard anyone who plays this game ever actually use the in game terminology properly…

I don’t speak for PEG, but Magic the Gathering had a patent on the tapping mechanic and name for 20 years including the window when Doomtown first came out, so other games from that era and beyond use a different term in their rulebooks even if the players say “tap.” Many games use the term “exhaust” or use custom thematic terms. Game of Thrones for instance used “kneel” and Call of Cthulhu used “drain.” Even Magic’s “tap” is thematic.
So I don’t disagree, but there was a legal reason.
