Thank you in advance for helping out by watching and sharing these videos! May the alcohol inks, paints and resin be kind, and may the pours be with you. 😊 - Навчання та стиль
I am so grateful that you demonstrated how to add gold leaf. I had struggled with this and never waited long enough. Your piece is beautiful and you are an excellent teacher and artist.
Hi Betty! It was my pleasure... Thank YOU! I flubbed gold leaf a few times by not waiting (I’m not the most patient when it comes to stuff like that 😂). It’s amazing how well it does work when we do wait so I think you’ll be happy. Many thanks for the very kind words. 😊💕
Hi there neighbour..glad you are ok..thanks for taking our minds off the virus for a short time.love the dots and gold leaf..
I need you today, your laugh is so sweet to hear. I also love your ideas and work. Thank-you. This piece is so cool.
That’s awesome to hear... thank you Robin! I am so happy you enjoyed this. 😊😘💕
I love the dots and the leaf. The dots almost look like little lights around the edges of each colour. And the leaf adds texture. What a beautiful piece! ❤❤❤
I love the dots 😍
Beautiful, as always! I like working with Leaf. My first go round was quite the adventure. I forgot to turn the fan off, so I will leave the rest to your imagination.......
Ah yes... I can definitely imagine the shiny fun you had 😅! Thank you so much for the kindness Lynne. Happy leaf-ing! 😊😘💕
Love the video and the techniques! I like the gold leaf! The video was delivered in such a calming, pleasant way! Tfs 😊
That’s awesome to hear... thank you Lorraine! 😊😘💕
Hello Myriam from Australia. I really like the gold leaf. haven't see that before! I have also been dithering about whether to get an air gun. Then suddenly during your video I made a decision. I will. I have a birthday coming up soon and as I can't go out and celebrate I can celebrate with a purchase. Thanks. I think the gold leaf is easier than the gold foil.
I love your videos. You don't take yourself seriously and I enjoy your laugh. I look forward to your videos during this wretched coronavirus. Stay safe, stay healthy.
Thank you for the very kind comment Marilyn! I am happy to hear that you’ve been inspired to get yourself an airbrush... it is definitely a fun addition to one’s art toolbag 😄. I wish you lots of creative enjoyment with it and a wonderful birthday when it arrives! May you and yours be healthy and safe. 😊😘💕
This piece of art is so beautiful! I love the addition of the dots and gold leaf. I just found you while searching for alcohol inks with airbrush and am so happy to have landed here. After watching a few of your videos I have already learned so much! Thank you for sharing your gift and your laughter. So often I find videos flat and school-like, it's a joy to listen to you laugh while you create.
I have finally got a full set of Kielty inks so watching some of your videos for inspiration. You are my rock star with Inks. Love this piece and nice to see you using your airbrush. I think my Sunday is going to be full of colour and trying a different style for me with inks. Wonderful to hear your voice and giggle. Keeps safe beautiful. Love the depth and blending. ❤️❤️. Gold leaf is brilliant a touch of class.
Love the dots and the leaf. Would love to see a leaf border! Thanks for the ideas.
Love the dots! Love the gold!
I love the leaf! Another great piece
Thank you, thank you ! 😊💕
Thank you for sharing your knowledge and your joy of creating. Much love 💜💜💜
Myriam with a “Y” , I just hate the reason I’m on this medium all the time anymore, however if I gotta be here your beautiful spirit makes it all worth it! This is a gorgeous piece! Thank you for sharing. You truly make my day. I know I say it all the time, but my goal is to comment and hit that like as much as possible as I know it helps your well deserved channel. So I truly hope you do not get annoyed with me commenting all the time. I just adore you, your content and especially your delivery! I always get excited when I see you have posted something new. Until next time...Stay safe dearest 😉
I will never be annoyed with someone as kind and uplifting as you always are! I am truly grateful for your support and encouragement. And by the way, I am always happy to see that YOU have posted a comment 😊😘💕 ! May you and yours be happy, healthy and safe.
This is amazing!!! I love the dots. Just ordered a small airbrush and can't wait to push the inks around with it. Thank you. Renewed my interest in this technique.
Love your infectious laugh Myriam. It makes me feel happy too. Thanks for sharing (-:Marion
You're like an aunt.... so warm and comforting... much needed in these uncharted times!
What a lovely thing to say ... thank you sooo much! 😊💕
I love the dots and the gold leafing. I always want to embellish my art. I love bling! You have great talent and are an excellent teacher! Thanks for sharing your talents and techniques!
Oh my gosh... thank you so much Linda! That is very kind of you to say. It was a pleasure to share! 😘💖 I wish you lots of embellishing fun!!
Hi Myriam! I love the dots! Never did them before except for flowers. Definitely going to try now. I've tried gold leaf but apparently I didn't know what I was doing! Lol! After watching you I think I got it. Thanks for sharing
Gorgeous, love this color combination together 💙💙💙💖💖
I love the dots!
Relaxing to watch, hope you are well😊
Hi Linda! I am up and down health-wise these days but making the best of it. Thank you. It’s wonderful to have art to make the time better. I wish you relaxing, creative joy. 😊😘💕
Hope we all get through this,my Dr. won’t let me go anywhere, I’m going stir crazy 😜,if with the crafting 🤪. Stay well🥰
Thanks Myriam, I got the stuff to do the leaf but haven't tried it yet. I need to get an airbrush next I suppose. But I have painted a couple of classic cars and I have you to thank since I got the notion to start really getting into the medium after seeing your koala painting. This piece is very cool, and relaxing to look at. I find a lot of alcohol ink art to be relaxing I don't know what it is. Maybe because it's such a hard medium to work with and has such vibrant colors that it all kind of just flows together.
Hi Jeff! I am just tickled if I’ve inspired you a bit. Alcohol ink is a fun and wild medium at times and oddly relaxing at others. It can be a challenge to tame (part of the wild fun) but it’s hard to beat it for vibrancy. If you haven’t bought inks yet I’d recommend the original Piñata exciter pack ... it has 9 rich, highly pigmented colors (that will let you mix lots of other colors) to see if you enjoy the medium. Here is a link if it helps : amzn.to/2IKeTWn Thank you for the comment and kind words. 😊💕 Happy art-ing!
Wonderful Myriam, love the folded look, the dots and the gold leaf. I think it would look neat to make the dots gold leaf. Thank you for something to brighten my day.
Thank YOU Debbie for adding a smile to MY day! 😊💕
I like the gold leaf. I've always liked the look of foiling with alcohol inks but with that, you have to follow where the ink has made the sticky spots. With this technique, you get to put the bling where you want it. You could use that stuff that comes in a jar and flies everywhere when you open it too, couldn't you? I've forgotten what you call it. I've worked with it but I've never worked with gold leaf, it's beautiful. I love the white dots! Stay safe!
Hi Cynthia! The stuff in a jar is gold (or silver, etc.) leaf too, just pieces of all sizes and shapes. Sometimes the jars of flakes are a MIX of different colors too, so that can be fun. I totally agree about being able to decide where you add your bling. Also, when you work with thinned ink, you don’t get as many sticky spots from the inks themselves so I’m grateful for this option 😊. Thank you for the thoughtful and kind comment! May you and yours be safe. 😊😘💕
During these tough times, Miss M... your voice is so calming and watching you work is just as calming. Thank you Dear. 💕
Many thanks for that Leilani! 😊💕
I love the piece. I liked the contrast with the gold leaf but wondering if more shapes in gold leaf that were not dot like would have mirrored your alcohol ink shapes better. Just a thought. I love your laugh and positive attitude. We all need that right now.
Hi Gisele! You might have a good idea there 😊... I have to admit to not having given the leaf plan too much thought. I was after something simple and not competing. Thank you for your thought and very sweet words! 😊😘💕
I find it interesting to see how the air brush contributes in creating this lovely, « swirly » pattern and I love the effect of the dots . Adding the gold leaves was also a real embellishment. Very beautiful creation and thanks for the clear teaching.
Thank you so much dear JL! 😊💕
Oh - the dots are lovely - patience teaching - and the gold leaf adds just the right amount of bling. I guess it depends entirely on the feeling of the picture in the first place.
I would use the alloy new from tin holts. I did like the way your inks were used to give a look of silk. Not sure if you notice right in the center there was a pink finger with a nail not sure if that’s what you meant as fingers but just think a whole picture of overlapping fingers would be so cool.
I did not notice the pink finger at all until now Anna! That was a total fluke... the inks can surprise us with creations of their own 😄. Your idea is definitely a fun one. Thank you for that! 😊💕
Thank you for giving me Joy and a smile today! I appreciate you! ☺️
What a nice thing to say... thank you Elena! 😊💕
I have used the decofoils on mine. It stickers to the little sticky parts. So pretty 😍
Beautiful thankyou for sharing
Thank you! This is just perfect - have an airbrush - haven't played with it yet. Now I will!
That is wonderful to hear Deanna! I hope that you have a blast 😉😄! 😊💕
@@MyriamsNature LOL! I think I might! thanks!
Deanna Munro I need to get one I love alcohol inks
wow this is stunning, I certainly need a lot more practice before I would even dare to share what I have done, plus the fact I am waiting for a delivery of inks, I love the dots and the addition of the gold leaf, I wonder what it would have been like without the dots but the gold leaf there instead? once I get to that level it'll be something for me to try..............thank you again for all your inspiration, love your laugh too it always makes me smile.
I like your idea of the dots being gold too... I think it would be lovely! I hope you will give it a try and show it off. May you have lots of fun with your new inks, and may you be happy, healthy and safe! 😊😘💕
Beautiful piece Myriam ! I love watching you work with alcohol ink - just magic . The gold leaf is just the icing on the cake . Thank you . Kind regards - Judi - Australia
Many thanks for that Judi! 😊💕
Beautiful piece, Myriam! I absolutely love the addition of the gold leaf and the white embellishments. I have used decorative foil on my alcohol ink pieces, but I want to try the gold leaf next! I hope you and your family are well and safe. Thanks for the awesome inspiration!💜
Thank you for that wonderfully thoughtful message Laura! I am the opposite... I have used gold leaf but look forward to trying gold foil 😄. It is on my list for sure. May you and yours be happy, healthy and safe 😊😘💕 .
I love the dots - they give the inks more of a fabric look, sort of like dotted swiss. And I love the gold leaf. I have done a lot of art work with gold leaf, and it always adds a nice touch. You have done it beautifully.
Thank you, thank you for that Diana! May you have more fun creating! 😊😘💕
Lovely
Thanks for the lesson. I think I have all the bits and pieces now to start the process of using the alcohol ink paintings except for the alcohol. I haven't found the 91-99% alcohol yet. Most stores don't even have the 70% either. But I'm getting there.
Oh wow, this is an interesting piece. The embellishing certainly adds so much more to the piece. Love listening to you during each video, you have a real way about you that I find quite enjoyable. Please take care and be safe. Looking forward to more from you.
Love it😍
At first I thought I didn't want the dots but when you were finished with them, I realized the nice dimension it gave to the piece. I think I'd prefer the gold leaf in the form of a few swirls. Just my thoughts. I absolutely love your videos and your instructions. Thank you for sharing.
Oooh.... I wish I had thought of that Sally... swirls would have been awesome!! Thank you for the idea and lovely comment! 😊💕
Thank you! Being home bound let’s me play with my art. Now I know how to work with gold leaf! Dang spell corrector, Chinese ink painting: sue me a, I use water color ink like an ink stick, blend with water to get a tight yet flowing line. Just a suggestion. Looking forward to your air compressor lesson.
I'm lovin' the gold leaf! I have wondered about how to do it, where to get it, so thank you for teaching us about this! I am a big fan of dots/circles, too, and I need to try those microbrushes - I tend to put too much down and they bloom bigger than I want. Thank you for your videos, Myriam; they are points of light in the gloom!
Huge thanks for that uplifting comment Fonda! I am always so so happy to see your name in the message stream. Gold leaf is loads of fun... I think you’ll get a kick out of it. 😁 May you and yours be safe and healthy! 😘💕
I see Dino the dinosaur :)
I always like the dots on your pieces, but sadly it really never looks right on mine.
Stay well
Hi Susie! I wonder if you are examining your work with overly critical eyes… We creatives tend to do that to ourselves unfortunately. If you are on FB and in my group, please take a chance and post your work. My guess is that you will get lots of positive feedback. 😊💖 I wish you fun and joy as you create. May you and yours be safe.
I love dots on anything! Myriam can I do this on ceramic tiles and cover with resin? This is so pretty..the Posca Pens keep the dots from blooming to balloons. You have definitely inspired me today!
Hi Lynne! 😘💕 You can definitely do this on ceramic tile and seal with resin! The only difference is that I would recommend thinning your ink with more blending solution or Claro extender so that it can bind to the tile. Grafix and Yupo have a tiny bit of tooth so they can hold onto ink thinned with just alcohol. Ceramic tile has absolutely no tooth so, unless you are super careful, ink can too easily wipe away when it’s thinned with only alcohol. Alcohol has no binder and breaks down the inks’ natural binder... but Claro and blending solution DO have binder. Beyond that, you’d want to spray seal your work with Kamar before resin to prevent the resin from causing the inks to bleed... but you’d do that regardless of the substrate. I am delighted hat you are inspired... I hope you have LOTS of creative fun! 😘💖💖
Myriam's Nature I’m thinking of a “tree of Life” with gold leaf leaves. Probably beyond my ability but fun trying. Stay safe Myriam!
Beautiful and inspiring as always! Thank you for sharing. I love dots/circles and anything shiny (hubby says I’m like a fish!) What other adhesives will work as I can’t currently get something that specific today (and I’m ready to play!)
Thank you Lori! 😊💕 The trick to adhering metal leaf is putting it down on something sticky but NOT gooey, runny or wet. If you can apply thin layer of a regular glue and “catch it” at that perfect time when it’s 90% dry but still a tiny bit tacky, it could work. I would suggest trying what you have and seeing when that magic, “sweet spot” time happens. The advantage of the specific metal leaf adhesive is that once it’s dry it stays tacky for hours upon hours so there’s no need to time it just right. There ARE also scrapbooking type craft glues that are designed to dry “sticky”. I hope that helps a bit.
Just gorgeous!! How do you clean that brush with a sticky fluid?
Welcome back (to me, not you, Myriam)!
Stencil the leaf? I think that might be quite interesting. X
Piñata or copic various which one is better ?
How much alcohol to ink did you use to thin? Love this! ❤
Have you ever used ink on ceramic cups? If so what do you use to seal them? Because lips would be touching. Thank you very much.
I like the way the gold leaf looks on your painting. Speaking only for myself, however, gold leaf drives me to distraction because of its affinity for flying all over the place. I prefer to press a sheet of foil on my work before it's totally dry and let the blobs stick where they may. This is widely known as "the lazy woman's method" and I'm more than happy to embrace the shame in order to avoid the clean up from leaf. So now the whole world knows...
You are so funny Savannagh! 😂 I completely respect the lazy way of doing things and will maybe convert to the foil method myself once I give it a try… It is on my list of things to explore. Thank you for the comment and chuckle! 😊💕
Hi Myriam: Did you see the pink finger with a nail, clearly visible in the center of the painting? . Anna Javier, one of your commentators mentioned it also. I’m curious and wonder if others saw it. I think it’s cute.
I honestly did not notice it until just now JL 😄... it IS pretty obvious now that I do see it though. Art sometimes has a mind of its own and creates little extras for us to enjoy 😉 💖. Thank you for popping in! 😘
Hi Mariam! How does gold leaf compare to metallic AI’s? Wouldn’t metallic AI’s or gold markers be just as sparkly?
Hi Myriam, what is the ratio if ink to alcohol? I had to think a moment why alcohol was difficult to find.. my how time has change.
I recently purchased 99percent alcohol from a my Amazon.
Woo hoo! Glad to know it’s becoming available again. Happy inking!! 😊💕
Myriam, on the subject of isopropyl alcohol being scarce....do i understand you to be saying that the Pinata color cleanup could be used instead with the same effects? For example, the lovely wispy edges I'm hoping to get in abstracts? I'm so frustrated to have found this new interest at the worst possible time when it comes to finding IPA! Appreciate hearing your thoughts, but not as much as I appreciate all these wonderful videos! Be well.
Hi K! Yes... you can use Piñata Clean Up Solution EXACTLY like isopropyl alcohol. Everything isopropyl can do, the Clean Up Solution does (even a bit better actually since it’s more powerful when diluting inks ... due to the fact that it’s ethanol). According to Jacquard (the manufacturer) the solution is actually a good antiseptic too. I posted a video just a couple of hours ago in which I use ONLY Clean Up Solution step by step for an alcohol ink painting... no isopropyl involved. Here is the link... I hope it can help. ua-cam.com/video/tGZq7qtqpA0/v-deo.html
There are links in the video description box for the best price I found. 😊💕 Happy inking. May you and yours be healthy and safe too.
@@MyriamsNature Thanks so much!!
