    I drove both before opting for the Pajero Sport. It was more comfortable and had a better feel behind the wheel, with the fortuner feeling very harsh and rudimentary. I have no regrets 12 months later. Loving the Mitsubishi.

      It sounds like this guy lied, but I don't know why. All other reviewers praise the ride as better than Fortuner. And he didn't mention the 8 spd and weight of the Pajero Sport that it performs very well.

  • @Handleyman

    I have to disagree. I have friends that drive the Toyota and I have the Mitsubishi. In pretty much all conditions the Mitsubishi wins, including when we swap cars. Unfortunately Toyota think that they are another BMW and can charge more for the badge. So the Mitsubishi is the winner all day every day in my book.

      Lol, performance of the Tuna’s 2.8 is much stronger than the Pajero sport. So how can you say it outperforms it in all conditions? 🤷‍♂️😂

      @mercboy111 Рік тому

      @@Suroyfamiliafair argument on engine numbers. However how it translates on bitumen and gravel, not to mention off-road capabilities and a transmission to match are another argument altogether. You have to remember that the Super Select 2 of Mitsubishi is world renowned because of its WRC credentials and this is proven also in the Dakar series championships. Sadly you don’t see any Fortuners on these circuits. While the Pajero Sport has a slightly smaller displacement we’re not talking leaps and bounds here (eg. 3.0l 6 cylinder versus 2.0l 4 cylinder). They’re both four pot turbo diesels. That being said the Fortuner may have 4wd but it’s not match for Mitsubishi’s Super Select 2 which includes crawl control and permanent all-wheel drive. The 8 speed tranny is also superior to the Fortuner’s six speed as it’s a derivation of Mitsubishi’s INVECS transmission.
      I would say the Pajero Sport Exceed is a better all rounder for the price versus the Fortuner Crusade 😊

    Thanks for your review, just placed an order for a new Pajero Sport after driving both the Mitsubishi and Toyota. The full time 4WD option , better road handling and much nicer interia of the Pajero Sport made the decision a no brainer for me. Extra bonus was that the Mitubishi was $2K cheaper than the best price I could get from any Toyota dealers in WA. It also came with a 10 year warranty!

    I bought 2020 Pajero Sport Exceed 12 months ago. I looked at Toyota Fortuna and Isuzu MUX as well. The Fortuna is a touch better offroad, but the Pajero Sport is a better car everyday and has more features and tech options.

    We bought the Fortuner. Although it’s the mid-spec GLX model, towing a 6x4 box trailer loaded with 400KG payload plus two adults and a kid in the car, 2 suitcases and a fridge in the boot and some extra stuff…overtaking other cars on the freeway was a breeze! Often sitting on 100-110km/h the fuel consumption was 11.2L. Although never tried the Pajero Sport so can’t compare, we are very happy how the Fortuner performed.

    We bought 2 Fortuners 12 months ago and really disapointed.. 2 starter motors and a new set of injectors later found ourselves stuck getting them towed into the workshop ourselves because Toyota warranty apparently didnt cover this...beware no roadside assistance and depending on where you buy it from little care factor from the dealer until forced...poor form.

    I've got the Exceed 2021 Exceed. $10,000 cheaper than the cowboy badge. And has 10 years warranty. Taken to Stockton and Redhead beaches and drove around my mates brand new Prado and hiluxs. All cars had less than 3000km and the Pajero was light years ahead in the sand. Totally disagree with this review. On muddy fire trails the Pajero Sport is brilliant too. Diff lock works well but hardly use it as the traction mode settings work awesome. Your review didn't even explain them. As far as luxury the Pajero has air con ducted through the roof to the third row (I have dogs) and all seats can lie flat if you sleep in it. Was absolutely no comparison to me. And reached the opposite conclusion to you guys. Also, the fuel economy while commuting is around 7-8L 100km in traffic.... Pajero for the big win.

      @GrantHawkey 3 роки тому +5

      I own a MY21 GLS Deluxe and have to agree with the above. The mud trails, water crossings, rock step climbs and ruts we've tackled have seen us go much further than Ranger, Hilux, LC 200, and a D-Max. We are bog stock with 18psi in the OEM tyres... and apart from diving into a very deep muddy water crossing with massive wheel ruts, we've never needed recovery. No vehicle damage either. Used diff lock twice for uphill cross-ruts, but otherwise the traction control modes made me look like a better driver than I am! 😂

    Just purchased a new fortuner after test driving both. I used to own a Triton Ute and found that whenever I washed it water would leak into the cab due to poor quality door and window seals. I noticed that the Pajero sports appeared to be exactly the same. The Pajero sports door handles feel extremely weak and feel like they’re going to break and fall off when opening and closing the doors. The Mitsubishi also lacks alot of power considering we test drove one without a bullbar or tow bar and the fortuner had all the extras and was far more responsive off the mark at roundabouts or traffic lights. For us we chose the fortuner because of the additional power, Toyotas customer service which we have always had positive experiences with when we have owned Toyotas in the past and the fact that it just feels like the build quality is superior to the Pajero. For those on a tighter budget yes the Pajero may be a good vehicle but given we want to tow with our fortuner and needed the extra power we decided to go the Toyota.

  • @DonsShed
    @DonsShed 2 роки тому +4

    We love our new Fortuner. The Mitsi "didn't get a leg in" mainly due to the Child Seat Anchor points being above the Rear Door. (we prefer them to be behind the 2nd Row Seats). Next, the Toyota Dealer and Spare Parts Network is hugeeee. Want anything for a Mitsi and you need to go to a major town or city. Fortuner shares the same engine and drivetrain with Hilux, so parts should be fairly easy to source. Also, is the Mitsubishi company themselves..... they didn't renew Pajero because they openly said they were moving away from 4wd's and larger vehicles, because the market wants small SUV's. This then makes me think their after sales supply might not be very good in 5-10 years time.

    Got the 2021 fortuner krusade and nothing but issues like with all the Diesel engines including the v8 diesel, injector issues, turbo issues, also the dpf. Toyota use to be reliable up till the 80 series cruiser and live axle front hilux. After that’s gone nothing but downhill and they rely on the badge for reliability.
    So sold it cheap and got me the Paj Sport and have to say so much better even towing in the high country and great dividing range where is cold and wet and slippery going from gravel/dirt to bitumen towing a small camper 1.6t so much better as you can select AWD and you get no under steer like I experienced in the Toyota.

The Fortuner feels like you are driving a tractor when you want to make a turn and feels like you are driving a Hilux since it’s suspension is so stiff you could end up having Kirby failure 😣 😂.

In every aspect of the review, the Paj Sport was slightly better or ahead, but based on the only thing lacking … a bit of ‘pickup and go’ and the reviewer opts to choose the Foretuner!
