Finally a big channel giving the Pajero Sport the love it deserves! Can vouch for mine, 2018 GLS with 120k kms now, haven't had any issues yet! I'd recommend giving it a go off road (you could use mine if you want ;) ), the superselect mitsubishi gearbox is so impressive off road, paired with a stock rear locker in GLS & Exceed trim levels. Its so light that it sits on top of the surface & flexes decently in stock form. Throw some good tires on it and its pretty damn capable. Thanks again for giving it the respect it deserves!
The transmission is also a surprise. Apparently it's only used in 3 vehicles, the Landcruiser 200 series, Lexus 4x4 which is essentially the Landcruiser and the Pajero Sport. Good to know you've got the Landcruiser transmission in a much cheaper package.
Should do the NX Pajero. Sure they stopped production in 2021, but like the Triton they are an absolute steal second hand. My base model 2021 Pajero came with rear diff lock. I’ve added a 2” lift, a bullbar and winch… surprised quite a few people with how far you can push it off-road.
I can recommend the Pajero Sport. I have a 2016 GLS with the standard rear diff lockers, haven't found anything it couldn't handle yet. I got it for $35k used with 50k KM on the clock in early 2020. My only advice buying used is to check if it's had it's 60k KM service, as that's a big one $ wise with the valve timing. Put the money you save from badge premiums into your camper or setup!
Yes, a true off road test of all the vehicles including the new Fortuner. Not concerned about on road handling but how these go in sand, rocks and steep terrain. Bring in on!!

I think an off road test sounds like a great idea to really show their capabilities. Personally I think the 200 series and Ford Ranger are my pick if I was buying a new 4wd 😎👍
Very happy with my 2019 QE Pajero Sport GLS. Purchased new for $42k through a broker. Have thrown on Falken Wildpeak AT3Ws, an Ironman 4x4 bullbar, Ironman 4x4 suspension upgrade and 2' lift, Rhino Rack Pioneer Platform, and a Piak rear bar.
