Smash Run Tour is an amazing idea! Adding the 2 together would make both feel so much more fleshed out. Also, I can't get over the idea of "Clothes heaven" 😂
Hard agree here. I hope we can get back to the tight roster just to bring back that breezy couch-playing vibes. Craft that quality the pros can dive into and keep it accessible enough that your mom could understand. This sock doesn't miss.
HAND REVEAL??? I feel like blanket-removing third parties (asterisk) isn't the greatest choice, especially if any theoretical DLC packs would include all the third-party characters that the base game missed out on. It's also important to note that this means removing well-fitting characters like Mega Man, whose series was basically only on Nintendo for like 30 games in a row. Since everyone loves speculative rosters, this is mine as of right now: Guaranteed Returning Fighters: Mario - Luigi - Wario - Peach - Bowser - Donkey Kong - King K. Rool - Cpt. Falcon - Miis - Fox - Link - Zelda/Sheik (as one) - Ganondorf - Ness - Lucas - Jigglypuff - Kirby - King Dedede - Meta Knight - Pikachu - Little Mac - Mega Man - Olimar - PAC-MAN - Sonic - Mr. Game & Watch - Shulk - Samus - Ridley - Pit - Marth - Villager - Yoshi - Banjo & Kazooie - Ryu - Inkling Reskins/Alts - no echo fighters: Daisy, Chrom/Robin/Lucina/Roy, Dark Pit, Dark Samus, Ken, Dr. Mario New Base-Game Additions (Character | Stage): Rex (form fighter with Pyra, Mythra, and Roc) | Gormott or Uraya - Alph/Brittany with new Pikmin types - Ribbon Girl - Lola Pop - Professor Layton | London - Tracer (Overwatch) | Watchpoint: Gibraltar - The Prince (Katamari Damacy) | A Gradually-Growing/Shrinking Earth - Shovel Knight - Specter Knight | Tower of Fate - Dr. Robotnik/Eggman | Death Egg - Groose (Skyward Sword) - Razputin Aquato (Psychonauts) | Whispering Rock - Shantae | Scuttle Town - Hornet (Hollow Knight) | Crystal Peak - New-Hire (Good Job!) | Office - Karate Joe (Rhythm Heaven) | Remix 10 - Raphael/Phantom R (Rhythm Thief) | Looting The Louvre - Waluigi (The Heavens) New DLC: Gordon Freeman/Barney/Adrian/Colette (Half-Life) | Black Mesa, Lambda Lab - Master Chief | Hang 'em High - Shadow The Hedgehog |Space Colony ARK - Sans | Battle Menu (Undertale) - Elizabeth (Bioshock) | Columbia (and/or Rapture) - Madeline (Celeste) | Mirror Temple - Doomguy | Fortress of Doom - Benny (Fallout: New Vegas) | Hoover Dam - Preston (Fallout 4) | USS Constitution - Scout (Team Fortress 2) | Upward - Octodad | Aquarium - Agent 47 (Hitman) | Untouchable 50/50 getting cut or staying: Simon/Richter - Palutena - Duck Hunt - Falco - Bayonetta - Diddy Kong - ZSS - Lucario - Greninja - Wolf - Ice Climbers Everyone else gets cut, except for that one character you like. That one's also my favorite, and I won't be cutting that one specifically. My ideal Smash would mostly focus on nearby multiplayer, and would restrict online play pretty heavily. The art style would be something between impressionism and pop art, so the main roster is based mostly around those sorts of bright and flashy characters - with the DLC being a mix of characters who kind of do and kind of don't fit in that art style.
I appreciate you being the UA-camr that commonly voices whatever thoughts pop into my head. I just think about him a lot and somehow they end up in one of your videos even though I have never talked to you once about them. That being said AMIIBOSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!! I feel like we need to have them as the apart of the lore, being the physical actual toys coming to life. But I would extend that even farther and make amiibos for bosses. Bosses that not only memorizes your fighting styles to better learn to fight against you. But also level up and get harder the more you fight them. I would also consider making amiibos of the assist trophy characters. Which allows them to be summonable in certain modes. Like event mode or story mode or something like that. Giving you a map menu on par with kind of like jump ultimate Star Will you get a team of a couple of characters plus an assist character You can mix and match on a map giving you a certain amount of spaces. That you can level up and rearrange. This would also help people who did not get the characters they want, as they would still get an amiibo they could equip onto their fighter in game. An example, let's say you wanted another Sonic character. Now you would have a Shadow or Knuckles amiibo which in story mode scanning them would allow them to arrive to help you in combat. You could also work various different strategies and learn to fight through different combos with different amiibos that some and assist characters.
I would love if the next Smash took on a smaller scale. Ultimate was such a fun ride (as long as you talked about it with the right people but I digress), but by the end of its run I was exhausted. Too much of a good thing, I guess. It was pretty indulgent. Not a jab, it’s an incredible accomplishment on Sora Ltd. and Bandai Namco’s part, it just shouldn’t be taken as the standard. Basically, Ultimate is like eating as much pizza from your favorite pizza place as you want, whereas your idea is like going back home to eat some of Mom’s cooking. So yeah, absolutely would love a smaller game, even if it would mean leaving Banjo or Simon behind. I don’t want to be exhausted by the end of Smash 6 like I was with Ultimate.
Love that food analogy lol I actually came up with a music analogy the other day. 64 is like a tribute band concert Melee is a symphony Brawl is an opera WiiU & 3ds are "Now That's What I Call Music" and Ultimate is a roadshow I'd like to see the next game aim to be like a Jukebox Musical based on a concept album lmao. I wonder if this makes any sense to anyone other than me
I like pretty much all your ideas, but I feel like they can be combined with the "celebration of gaming" aspect that Ultimate had compared to it just being a Nintendo crossover. A mix of refining the ideas and concepts of old with the new approach that was taken could have the potential to be something great! That's just me, tho Also, please add subtitles! Because sometimes I can barely make out what you say.
As much as I love Ultimate's inclusion of third parties (Steve was even my most wanted character), I really like the idea of going back to Smash's simpler times. I do think a few 3rd parties could stay in the base game (Banjo honestly feels way more like a Nintendo 64 character than a Microsoft property; and everything about Terry's inclusion makes it feel like a celebration of those "smaller" Nintendo IPs like F-Zero and Ice Climbers, just with a 3rd party instead), but I still love the concept for this new Smash game you suggested. Also, this is just a nitpick, but I feel like the Ice Climbers are a must-have for a Smash game that brings together characters from all sorts of Nintendo franchises, celebrating even the most obscure ones. Unorthodox picks like them help the game feel even more like a big Nintendo family party.
Yeah, as I mentioned. That roster isn't THE roster I'd want or expect EXACTLY. But in the stream where I built that roster, I justified cutting them by suggesting Duck Hunt fill their role as "Blackbox NES Duo"
In the base game * Square Enix made it seem like having their content come in challenger packs is a more appealing prospect. Probably makes them more money.
I think that first, it would be WAY easier to not have them in and second, it WOULD have backlash, but that backlash would help bring more publicity, and third they would bring them back as dlc to make lots of money from people would really want third partys
@@Acacius1992 banjo kazooie is a nostalgic character that no one use. Unlike sonic, ryu, snake, pac man, etc. They are icons of gaming, unlike rareware mascot number 4
🤔 This does sound like a good idea, although my version would have two main differences compared to Arlo Talking Francis Sock’s: 1. Characters - All characters presented In Ultimate + DLC stays, and any new characters will be from “1st-Parties(?)” in the form of either echo smashers (ex. Octolings as echos of Inklings) or just completely new smashers, although there is a smasher that I think should be demoted to assist trophy, the Pokémon Trainer… yeah, the way that gimmick got presented really got under my skin and I really think Squirtle, Ivysaur, and Charizard should be played separately, I don’t know how, but it would be interesting 2. Smash Run - I’d prefer a “more easily traversable map to face off against all these different enemies from different games, and have those stat point come to you like a magnet” version of Smash Run than what he presented
I would be fine with Nintendo removing their third party characters but only if they added some real Home Run character choices in the base roster. I could finally play as King Bob-Omb, Skull Kid, Zant, Droach, Count Bleck or Dimentio, or maybe even DJ Octavio, Lanky Kong, or Monita. I've always felt that because everyone wants so many third party characters, the nintendo characters would end up being outshined. I also realized that Nintendo has never added an actual indie game character. (Steve doesn't count, minecraft is owned by Microsoft.)
Now, I get the reasoning of wanting to go back to 64/Melee/Brawl’s take of celebrating and elevating Nintendo’s legacy rather than just seeing how big you can make a crossover, but I’d argue that completely gutting the third party content would absolutely be the wrong way to go about it, because a lot of those third parties are massive parts of Nintendo history. Characters like Mega Man, Banjo and Kazooie, and Simon Belmont are just as big Nintendo icons as Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, and Samus for tons of people. Hell, Tetris, the game that practically sold the Game Boy, was owned by a third party and not Nintendo themselves.
Just imagine if you can fully customize your own smash bros. Character. Ik they have mii characters. But i mean like really customizable features. Like ya you can mix match the mii costumes but you can change their colors and they give us tops and bottom customizable. Maybe they let us unlock certian moves to have unpredictable movesets for specials and have a set amount of normal attacks depending on the gender/body type you choose. And you build it to your liking. Like you can have a fast attacker but lower defenses or a bulky heavy hitter like ganon/bowser but slower. And maybe to get moves and outfits through a story based single player like in brawl with story. Itll be based around ur character saving the world from the big bad that controlled everything….. Its Sakuras own custom player for the first fight. Finally getting to play against the creator…. Then theres a 2nd phase where hes faster, stronger and his move set is changed so youll have to get the feel of this new move set while damaged
