i agree for the most part. It was previously unplayable, it has definitely gotten better but some big issues still remain... the flow and the physics still seem the biggest problem. on the plus side, flat shots are actually able to get over the net, players can actually get top spin bounce shots and the movement has improved...overall, lots of work still to do to make it FEEL like a real tennis game, but at least it's playable now. (which is ridiculous to say for a game that cost me $100 CAD at launch)
It's beyond me how games like tennis elbow with a single developer can make a game so far ahead of a studio with a huge team and budget. How are the ball physics this bad? Only conclusion is they don't actually care about the game and just want to release a game that casuals can pick up and play and have an easy game.
These graphics/animation with TE4 gameplay .......would be magic. Such a wasted opportunity...the gameplay needs a completely new engine from the ground up. Sign the TE4 guy up Big ant/Nacon!
@@enginyalcn5164 Yes, the mods definitely upgrade the experience....court graphics are nice and crisp on TE4, character models could do with a lot more detail though.
You are right. The most frustrating part of gameplay is that AI is still not able to deal with drop shots and short balls, even on Expert level. Its successful rate is literally 1-2 out of 10. So, when you play just drop shots a short balls you will easily win every match. These issues remain from the start of Early Access so I'm not sure whether they're capable to solve it. Imo this is the more complex problem of core game engine so therefore serve, return and playing drop shots/short balls can not be fixed.
I totally hear you and appreciate what you are doing...but I am definitely one of those "pretty graphics and good licenses" people. I guess I'll be getting this.
I always try to explain to people that updates can't fix broken games especially sports games. If the foundation is bad, There is not much they can do aside from " decoration" and other non important stuff for the gameplay.
If they fix these things about gameplay tiebreak will worth playing 1. Perhaps the biggest problem to make this game look like a simulation and not an arcade is serving , serve is not any advantage in the game , i win a lot of more games when i receive the serve, serve must be big advantage especially if it is player like (hurkacz , shelton , fritz , zverev ...) 2. Second problem is when i serve my player immediately goes in front of service line , when other player return deep service my player literally returns the ball with some very strange animation , and thats advantage for receiver not server. 3. Playstlyes of players are the same , literaly nobody goes to the net, nobody make dropshots all player have same playstyle in real gameplay 4. When i edit player I can't put the cap upside down like the dimitrov , rune etc 5. Game crashes offline from no reason , it happened most times on match points , throw out the error and return me to the home page of the playstation 6. Try to add all players in top 30 like Musetti , Bublik, Baez etc 7. Ball in ralies is not natural is too fast , try to slow down the ball 8. All fields have same speed. Hard , Grass and Clay is not the same in real life. Clay is much slower. This game have big potential , just keep working guys. Cheers all the best
There has been a further update last night fixing the speed on hard and expert, players like Zverev and Taylor Fritz now topspin a lot more on return of serve and ralllies even slicing for serve returns, before they were hitting all flat shots going into the net. The cpu is not hitting missile serve returns all the time like before also. This is the first time i can honestly say that Tiebreak feels better than AO2. The latest update patch is 25th September.
I feel like the physics just feel... off. The ball has no tangible weight to it, generating pace on the ball looks somewhat unsatisfying. Mind you, I have yet to play the game, but I think TE4 looks better gameplaywise. This game looks like the physics need a lot of tweaking... but hey, I like that they are actively working on it, best of luck to them!
I really need help I'm stuck between TE4, TB and AO2. TE4 as sim and career, TB as graphic and official career, I don't know about AO2 but it's also on my list. Which one should I choose? chat gpt TE4 seems to recommend it!
@@machetegaming Honestly, I want good gameplay and a good career mode. For example, like a pes 2021 with virtua red mode. Do you know? Although pes 2021 career mode is not fully satisfactory :)
@enginyalcn5164 Yeah, I am playing PES 2021, too :) Well, for PES like gameplay experience with a good career, I think *TE4* is the only really good option combining both aspects. *Tiebreak & AO Tennis 2* are arcade-ish games, so if you are into deep tennis gameplay (like PES is for football), then I don't think you will enjoy them after first few hours. *Full Ace* is the equivalent of *PES 2021 FUMA* *gameplay* for tennis games, but the career mode is imo just serviceable. While *Tennis Elbow 4* has the best career mode in tennis games hands down (maybe even all sports games with Tennis Elbow Manager 2 enabled?). Hope this helps!
I just wanna buy this game for the bigger roster than top spin I clearly understood that we will never have a good tennis game on or consoles simply but I’m really sick to play Sinner or Alcaraz on top spin 2k25
I play tennis games to have fun which I clearly can't do with this game right now. The movement choices shouldn't have used tennis world tour format but instead AO 2 format which doesn't have the sprint. The difficulty levels for beginners like me are ridiculous... easy is still too damn easy...the CPU player just stands in one spot most of the time. But increasing the level up one, makes the CPU super human again hitting shots right in the corners every time or dropping the ball over the net with great precision and your player being unable to get to it in time. I love the content in the game, career mode and tournaments etc. But I can't play any of it because the game is so damn broken. I play for fun, not for serious simulation...and TopSpin is a huge letdown but Tiebreak is no better in it's current state.
It's still unplayable to me. ALL tennis games: STOP locking animation behind pay/playwalls. Clothes fine but you're purposely making your game worse so we have something to play for? Just make your gameplay fun it's not that hard. I personally LOVE TS5's gameplay. Other than missing the high accuracy/high power button, it's almost the same as TS4, which I played the stuffing out of....offline only. I refuse to touch online until someone gets the core gameplay correct bc players are always going to find something to abuse, especially in a sports game. If TS5 had the presentation & players of TB & TB had the tournaments & gameplay of TS5, we might have ourselves a decent game.
So disappointed in this game. I actually loved AO Tennis 2. It was far from perfect but, in my opinion, it still played well and it wasn't boring. Also the customization was really good. You could start a full tournament with 128 players, choose all your seeds and include any player you want in the tournament. You could then play any of the matches, sim matches or sim a match and then jump in the middle of it to continue. I figured Tiebreak will build on the AO2 model while adding improved game play with better graphics. Right now, the game play and the customization is nowhere close to the AO2.
I went back to AO2 because I was too fed up with Tiebreak. I can't see why the developers made Tie break instead of an improved AO. I don't need a huge roster of real players as I like to create my own.
I don't get it AO2 has virtually no teleporting for online multiplayer matches so why TF can't they get teleporting right for Tiebreak it's the same developers Big Ant Studios.
I said the same thing. Was AO2 perfect, not even close but I put some fun hours into it. It's like they completely scrapped ANYTHING good about it to build this monstrosity.
totally agree, been saying the same on discord. It's gone backwards. Plays okay with the women/weaker players. Starting to remind me more of TWT2 which is not a good thing. Gameplay is on rails, predictable and boring.
Love the animations and player models. Gameplay is miles off. It needs rebuilding from the ground up. Every title they've released hasn't cut it. Go and recruit the guy who made Tennis elbow 4 or someone with the tools to the team.....
Two reasons: Returning early (SABR return) gives advantage and works easily in Tiebreak. Plus it showcases the point I make about Tiebreak's gameplay - it's broken as you shouldn't be able to do that every single time with ease.
After playing couple of matches today, I think the game is better now than it was before. It's less frustrating and unrealistic to play against the computer. But many issues remain virtually unchanged since release (physics, lack of player tendencies, stats don't mean much, serving and returning is bad). Plus the game feels very uninspired and boring to play, at least to me. If you're looking for pretty graphics, nice roster and are okay with arcade-ish, barely passable gameplay - you might enjoy it. But if you're looking for a realistic and deep tennis game, Tiebreak ain't it.
Well that depends: Are the issues I mentioned a deal breaker for you or not? If they are important, then Tiebreak is not for you. If they aren't important for you, then you might be Tiebreak's targeted audience and actually enjoy the game.
I hate how on tiebreak you can change direction and be sprinting immediately like you’re a bionic man which is unrealistic and they don’t have a advanced serve, the game as a whole is way to unrealistic I have it but I don’t play it anymore and playing career mode sucks too
Its a very big problem. Slice animations are so ugly and fake. There are so few forehead and service signature animations. And all backhand are random. Federer isnt real animation and alcaraz forehand and service forehand backhand of zverev dimitrov evans...
