👍for using ^C centigrade for the temperature ;-)
In Europe is normal and logical using this.
RETRO Hardware yep, sure, me too, just tired of all the other videos still using alien measurement units ! ;-)
@@RETROHardware Not just in Europe, pretty much the entire globe except the US and some small countries.
Damn, this GF 4 ti4200 is almost as loud as the hair dryer FX 5800 Ultra.
You have a nice collection of videocards there. Nice job testing them 👍
I wonder why they bothered to put such a beefy cooler on a ti 4200.
From what I recall mine always ran relatively cool with that tiny tiny heatsink and fan
Awesome job 👍 thanks for creating the bar graphs with all of the results.
Last few videos and all future ... I'am making xx photos, all results you can download on FB WEB in JPG/PNG.
Thank you for dedicating yourself to make videos on UA-cam, you bring me so many good memories.
Nostalgic kit of hardware, man. Good ol' days...
I am 15 years old in Korea and I enjoy looking for graphics cards on the new day.

Oh man that Siluro card is crazy loud. Can't complain about its looks, though.
Interesting mix of cards and benchmarks though! Not things many people have tested.
Yep this is "funky test". At first I planned more special cards ... but this setup not support them. Never mind, next time on different HW.
I got original CD with this Abit GF4. Maybe they have some original software to regulate speed in 2D. Still is piece of joke ... same as FX5800U :-)
I had a GF4 Ti 4200 AGP8X version without the OTES cooler, one of my favourite cards ever :)
Didn´t know there where this many more GPU brands before we got the few two we have left.
Very good 👍👍👍Took me back to my childhood 😊😊😊
I really want that Power VR card. If I remember correctly the nicest looking of the 3D accelerated versions used this card. It was a bit obscure even back in the day.
I had a Voodoo 5 5500 64mb AGP... it was considered a monster of a card in late 90's and early 2000's.
Boa noite adorei o seu canal de PCs retro matou a saudade de monta esses PCs de novo obrigado por trazer minha infância de volta logo mais quero monta um pc retro pra mim
The most powerful computer of all time
love that heatsink on that ti 4200. I really wish I could get one of these dual xeon rambus boards. Just don't have room for them.
i860 is poor about power and not support Gallatin CPUs (wanted to use them). But it is interesting platform for collecting.
You have some beautiful retro tech
You have amazing content Keep going
Cool comparison! I remember getting a much higher 3D Mark score on my overclocked GF4 Ti4200 which was paired with an Athlon XP 2000+ . I think I was getting something like 12 - 13k from it.
That Geforce 4 Ti looks so cool... they made so good looking graphic cards back then.. P.S.
but with terrible little fans :-D
Cool compilation.👍 By the way it's sad that 2400 Xeons are bottle neck for such cards like GF3Ti500 and Gf4Ti200.
I knew the Matrox Parhelia was underwhelming back then, but it scores much lower than a cheap Radeon 9000...really sad. It competed with the high end GeForce3 Ti500 and Radeon 8500 at release.
In 2D is Parhelia best ... in 3D bad.
I now recall going to a trade show where they demoed the Parhelia at apparently the only thing it did well... Tri monitor surround setups. In that regard, it seems to hold up as it had no performance difference if i recalled correctly. But i wouldn't be surprised if whatever they used to output to all three monitors at once is what then went into those stand alone devices meant to allow 2-4 monitors on a single monitor output
I remember Matrox having the best 2D performance and image quality back in the day. I had 450G millenium for a gaming card once, it actually wasn't too bad.
This system from 2002 actually has 4 threads at 2.4ghz
1:37 - What the hell is that? :-O :-D Really crazy motherboard.
I remember I had an Elsa Erazor x2, which was posh as fewk.
tech tip: if you have FX 5800 Ultra and agp extension cable you could take a shower, run a favourite benchmark and dry off quickly
Dude.. RAMBUS is pretty sick.
these videos are great! just one suggestion. maybe look into getting a riser card if you can for agp. I don't know how hard that would be to find, but it'd be better than inserting cards over and over into that same slot on the motherboard. would save it from wear and tear.
That's a sweet motherboard.
That 4200TI looks awesome.
There someting wrong... Dies are big and coolers are small.
2019 Dies are small and coolers are massive
Hmmmmm ram on a riser. Cool
VERY impressive showcase, and definitely an interesting set of results. I'm surprised how well the Quadros go in SPECviewperf. I guess that shows the value of vertex on workstation cards over consumer hardware. Worse yet, though, the Ti500 beats out the Ti4200?? Nvidia's nFinite engine doesn't mean much in that case.
How long lasting the old hardware is.
Like tests, but something is wrong with that voodoo4. I remember having 90 fps on voodoo5 and athlon 900mhz at high settings 1024x768 on quake3. Had gf4ti 4200 too..however , beautiful to see that many different brands..
This setup is very specific but I think that results are +/- right. You can search lot of other tests with similar score around this number. Here 38FPS - www.vogonswiki.com/index.php/3dfx_Benchmarks#Quake_3_Demo
Depend on drivers and many other things, of course I can make mistake too.
Later on I have seen your 1ghz athlon and voodoo 4 setup, during quake3 gameplay you had around 60fps, but bench test showed only 30ish fps. Seems like bench is much more demanding than just gameplay ;) cheers
Is the ABIT Siluro Geforce 4200 Ti a prerelease of the Geforce FX Cooling solution (aka hairdryer...)?
Which engineer mastermind had the idea to put a ~4cm ish Fan on a heatsink and spin it up to 7000 rpm...
This one is after FX5800 but same piece of crap :-)
nothing can beat my S3 PRO SAVAGE WITH MY AMD DURON OVERCLOCKED BY JUMPER TO 1.2 GHZ
Use the camtasia for video of machine or the tipcam
14:25 Wait, is that the same Hyundai that makes cars?!
They making cars, fridges, ovens, rams ... everything :-)
My 7800GS on my opteron180 with msi neo2 platinum motherboard gets 29,900 in 3dmark01se
That OTES Abit card... Its noise is terrible.
屌爆了
The bios compart video?
Me I load up a old Intergraph / 3D Labs Wildcat Open GL Video Card.. AGP Pro Slot..Use it..
hi!where is the power bottom/switch of this mother?
Abit siluro ti4200 turbine cooling its very noisy ))) such a cooling to anything on such a videocard, just an extra source of sound.
Good for watching - not for using :-)
Heee, I have this board! Only 3GB of RAMBUS tho...
Peknu zbierku mas
voodoo 1 .......................................................long...long time ago ..................classic
thank...
Where are u from?
Czech, EU.
POWER WEEE ARE
31fps on a voodoo4 4500 seems really low for quake3... a voodoo3 does better than that..... you sure there was not a driver bug or api issue here?
Dew a video on tnt 2 vanta
Hi
Can you please tell me what case does the motherboard tray belong to? Thank you.
You mean original case for this MB? It is atypical IBM. You can watch complete machine here, last 5 photos.

Dobrá slovní zásoba v anglickém jazyku, ale ten přízvuk
Any suggestion where we can get old hardware?
Nothing special at me ... local pickups, auctions etc. Depend on your activity, time ... and place :-)
RETRO Hardware And hardware forums are also good. 🙂
Asus make3s a MOBO that will take 2 28C 56T xeon CPUs with 768 Gb of DDR4 64 Gb dimms. I would give my left nut for a system with that.
There’s no AG3450......
12:17 Ricardo milos ?
I call it a beast lol.
5:44 - 6:06
A 2.4 ghz cpu for this build is low- end choice.
It is first release for Xeons, this board not support better cores or FSB.
@@RETROHardware but what about 3.2, 533mhz fsb and a 2mb cache. It is also a prestonia core as well as socket 604.
This is socket 603, you can use FSB400 only. So 3Ghz max. Gallatins s603 not support to. I tried them.
Man, that's really sad. I mean really. I have 2.8 s603 400fsb for sale for less than 5 bucks in my city, but it's only one cpu
It's OK don't afraid :-) . I have xx other modern boards for Xeons and 100+ CPUs all models. I used this because it is interesting setup and has AGP PRO slot.
Is that rambus?
Yes
but can it run crysis...
Nope, not at all. btw: this joke gets old and isn't even funny anymore...
with a good gpu, sure... even a pentium 3 can run crysis
E
Can´t believe that PIII-S 1.26GHz can beat Xeon 2.4 GHz...Netburst architecture was really a failure
Any Xeon is not gaming CPU. This was setup for fun :-)
@@RETROHardware well you just proofed again that the netburst arcitecture is inferior to the P6
Yep and triple weak is Xeon + i860 chipset with RIMMs. This was fail way and they end production very fast = now rare to find.
