It was extremely well executed and there is zero proof that it was fake. If the mods believed it to be fake, they were the ones that screwed up by validating it in the first place. I have great respect for the work they have been doing especially since MC speedruns took off like crazy, but even they have to admit that it's perfectly possible that the only reason Odiz's run was invalidated is due to their own screw-up in this particular case. Itd hard to explain, so just go try it out. Open your inv, move your mouse any where within your inv, and press any button which corresponds with a slot in your hotbar to move the item in that slot

Okay im definitely not the only one who think odiZ isnt in the wrong, he isnt that suspicious compared to kiran, and he was shown to have smooth movement and good strats, this feels like a situation where a friend got jealous, cheated his way to the top, and then ruins it for everyone, and if you bring up “he deleted the world files eeemememe” my dude, videos can take up tons of storage, and i dont blame him for deleting that stuff, its just natural to do so.
If Odiz did cheat, he did the absolutely correct play of invalidating his own world record before he could get caught.
Also wouldn't speed runners do some set practice like training building portals? His last world might of been practicing with set items. My theory is he didn't cheat, a bucket means nothing. He could of timed himself building portals with lava buckets right?

I think we need to give odiz another chance. I legit think that he could have got the WR but his friend decided to ruin it all by cheating in a run to be in the same level as his friend. It's like wanting to do an essay alone, and you do quite good, but then your jealous friend asks the teacher to work with you and just ruins the work entirely

it seems like Odiz' friend saw his friend about to win a record he knew he couldnt, and in jealousy rushed a bad fake run. Idk about anyone else, but I dump any video files after an upload, and clear my worlds pretty often, with a speedrunner making 10 worlds in a single sitting, I can absolutely see the need to delete often... Storage space is a bitch
"10 worlds in a single sitting" Oh my sweet summer child.
At its extremes of a long day and a heavy resetter it can be well over 1000.
Any random seed speedrunner would have stored at least 3-digit-number worlds before mass deleting, since most of the time, the world file isnt really heavy, and deleting process is really annoyed

It is now. But at the time when odiz submitted the record, there was only one sub21, and it was also a sub20.
He also made a mistake choosing his username. (Example: Odiznuts)
@@gabrielkaczynski5866 a lot of people i know including myself delete files after we’re done with them
I believe OdiZ. Many comments pointed it out, but the video failed to mention that the video and game files have been deleted after OdiZ’s run was accepted for days or even a week, and the video was up in UA-cam. He had no need for those files, which were 20GB in total, and he had little storage space and a weak PC. As someone with a weak pc and little storage space, you can bet I won’t keep around a 20GB file unless I really really need it - and he didn’t need it because he was already verified for a while.
And to the people saying, why didn’t he buy some storage space then? Guys… you’re forgetting that different countries have different currencies and economics. I’m from Hungary, and stuff like that is expensive. My 16GB USB drive cost me about a day’s worth of 2022 salary, and it broke after a month. It’s not small money. Well, not for everyone, maybe it is for you. Not to mention we don’t know how old OdiZ was at the time and whether he had his own money or not. And I can totally see his parents not wanting to buy an expensive, large and sturdy drive just to store a 20GB file for some game.
So yeah, the files being deleted- that’s completely legit and understandable from the viewpoint of a person with a shitty pc, little storage, without the option of buying a large enough drive, with a 20GB file hogging up everything and having already been verified for days at the least. You just have to look at the situation from the POV of the person actually living it instead of your own, and then you can see that yeah - that does make a lot of sense. Unfortunately it seems like a lot of people fail to understand and do that.
And, if the files missing isn’t evidence (which it isn’t) and the only other evidence is that his friend cheated (which isn’t evidence), or that there was a month gap in his uploads (not evidence, that’s summer break time, maybe he didn’t upload because he was playing…?), it all comes down to absolutely nothing. There is nothing to prove that he cheated. And the luck? There is the guy who won the lottery with his very first lottery ticket purchased in his life and the guy who got struck by lightning three times. Is it really so unbelievable that a seemingly skilled MC player can get a lucky seed and pull of a speed run of less than 20 minutes? I mean, come on… at this point you just want him to be guilty. It’s innocent until proven guilty, not the other way around.

I believed odiz had a legit run but it didn't really matter because dimeax wiped the floor a few weeks later
I mean thats fair, but its also possible that he had a legit run and should have been at least appreciated for having that run even if it was for a single day. Personally, if a friend of mine had screwed me over like that. I would have to see how much of the event he remembered after he got out of intensive care.
Hey great vid man keep up the good work 👍

' Innocent until proven guilty ' is all I have to say about ODz's run
When you're called out, it's your job to prove the claims as false. The "proven guilty" part is basically when they can't submit legitimate proof they're not guilty. It's how all courts work! People claim you did something, or have suspicion you did, so you have to prove you didn't..if you can't you get charged. In ODz's case though it can't be proved he cheated or didn't cheat exactly, thus his run wasn't accepted, you either cheated or you didn't and if the answer can't be proven for either case then you fall into the same boat as cheating where you don't pass go, you don't win $200 your run is canceled.
@@testerwulf3357 That's not how all courts work at all. If the prosecution can't prove you did something, then you can't be charged. The onus of proof is NEVER on the accused. That being said, I think speedrunning is a little different and you do have to prove that you have achieved WR. Otherwise I'd just come out now and say I got the WR sub7 this morning ;)
@Tester Wulf :3 We dont know what actually happened in the case of ODiz. Yes personally, I do think that Odiz did cheat. But officialy we cant say that he cheated unless there is solid proof. If it isnt proved that he did cheat then you cant accuse the person of cheating. Of all we know, this is an unsolved mystery!
@@testerwulf3357 That's the exact opposite. It's the accusers' responsibility to prove guilt. In science, however, the larger the claim, the stronger the evidence must be. So making such a large claim as being the world record holder, you'd better have proof. Since neither have proof that it was either legit or faked, then it's marked as unconfirmed.
i was thinking the same thing.
OdiZ is innocent ,and I firmly believe that.
Kiran tried to one-up him and ended throwing them both under the bus.
First also I agree with your point
For all we know, odiZ could have set a legit speedrun and did delete the files on accident
"who's odiz? odeez nuts" that part made me rolling on the floor 😂
bro imagine odiz was actually legit and after being so happy he's let down by the simple mistake of deleting files however there is something he can do and that is roll back his windows which might help
"It's common knowledge that all Europeans know each other" yes, bffs indeed
Hey bestie
Hellooo friendos!
Well im actually not european im from mexico but still close right friends?
yeah...bffs...
Hey besties
How to make yourself look extremely suspicious:
-Delete files that are essential in proving your validity.
If OdiZ was really an above-average player, it is definitely possible he got lucky and didn't cheat. It's possible he didn't know that he would need to send his editing files for validation (very implausible, but not impossible) and just deleted these files to make room on his computer.
it's not implausible because the mod said "your run is verified, you have the world record" and only asked later for the raw footage because of what Kirin did.
So if your run is on youtube and you already have been validated, quite plausible to just delete them.
The axe spamming could actually be explained by nerves and trying to hit faster so the last hit is half a second faster.
I'm a long time 1.8 PvPer and I can relate, when I'm pressured in 1.9+ I also often spam the axe cause of the panic

Not only twice as new, (ish), but Minecraft, while less precise, has many more variables.
@@indrianalovely6883 que decia el loco ajaj
Why not have OdiZ prove his skills again before taking down his speed run based on guilt by association? His skills were legit compared to his friend's.
I mean what they could do is ask Odiz to submit another run to them that is unedited and see if the skill level matches and all that
“I forgor 💀 the mod on, sorry”

Interestingly enough about the bucket, it is theoretically possible for him to have had a bucket and a blank image, there is and has been for a bit a bug in the game that causes the world not to render an image when leaving, but that doesn't change anything on this matter
Odiz doesn't seem like he cheated and actually had a lot of practices. Kiran, being a friend of his, ruined his reputation and made people suspicious of his run.

It’s sad to see how when Speedrunning, which was meant to be for fun and for competition, turned into a place where people try to cheat using the most insane ways just to claim the first rank.
Any sport turns into this with enough competition

Oh man... My standard way of using my video editing software would be sus as hell. I only give projects their own unique named save files if I plan on working on them more than once. For anything quick (like trimming off the NVIDIA toolbar message) I just use the default name, so it gets overwritten all the time. It would be super easy for me to not be able to provide screenshots or video of my editor at all. It would just take me doing any other quick edit between posting the run and the mods demanding I prove the run to be unspliced.
I love how 6 beds went from risky to really safe in about 2 weeks lmfao
Surely we could make and enforce a speedrunning recording software where you record all your runs within the software, and they are uploaded to jt automatically. No footage could be edited or uploaded, so it would always be raw videos. If this was the only way to submit runs, no one could cheat ever
That's why streaming is very popular for speedrunning.
Until someone hacks that software. Then you'd need a software to record the other software being downloaded from the official website, which itself needs to be official .. and so on ...
There is no absolute security.

The only issue with the video is saying that you have to be well versed in the current SR strategies to become a world record contender.
Some people wanna see what they can manage on their own without learning potentially damaging strategies.
I think it was the golden eye speed run that was just destroyed by someone that didn't know the current pathing and blew everyone else out of the water
I’m not hating, you did a wonderful video and research! ❤️
I just wanted to say that the black and white thumbnail (I’ll call it blank thumbnail) is not a valid reason to say they cheated. I usually, very very often, have worlds with blank thumbnails. Even after playing for MONTHS on that world, my thumbnail sometimes gets glitched. It happens very frequently to me.
The run was very suspicious tho, I’m just saying it’s not enough reason :)
Great vid! 🥳
Same. My java 1.17 worlds thumbnail has updated once since I created it.

Fun Fact about World Record Speedruns: Brentilda was the first speedrunner to beat Minecraft in less than 10 minutes because of a fossil that he found in the Nether while his speedrun. Also, he got an extreme luck when leaving the Nether. He literally spawned inside the Stronghold and beside the portal's room
at the time this was going on i was interested in minecraft speedrunning but not really regularly involved and keeping up to date with it, so i saw odiz on the leaderboards and saw his run being rejected for insufficient evidence. i didn't hear anything about this kiran person until months later though, and when i asked people about it i only got extremely vague details. and with odiz i didn't actually have anything in the way of backstory and only very recently heard that he had some sort of connection to kiran. so i really do appreciate this video. it fills in one of the gaps that i was just barely too late to fill in myself, as i started actually being involved in mcsr around a month or two later. very well done FeelsStrongMan Clap
