    I really enjoy your videos a lot. I love how intentional and thoughtful you are with your planning process. I used erin condrens in the beginning years, then i did some bujo and now since a couple of months i use a hobonichi cousin and a hobonichi weeks. I planned to use the weeks for personal/home stuff and the weekly of the cousin for work stuff and then combining my to dos from both planners in my cousin daily pages. I also planned to use the notes pages of my hobo weeks for collections or archive. Whereas the cousin works well i am somehow struggling with the weeks. The setup is so different to what i am used to with a vertical system and also, my handwriting is large, which is not ideal in the weeks. But i realized that the size of my handwriting is dependent on the size of my pen tip - i always used large pen tips, so i tried a pen with a smaller tip and it was much easier to scale down my writing size to fit in more. I am also unsure of how to use habit trackers in this system - i used to write it in the monthly overview/index section of the cousin, which i think is perfect, but i would like to track more things - a bit like your adulting trackers, which is a great idea. Long story short, i still have a couple of things i want to figure out and i find your videos extremely helpful, so i will rewatch your daily series. Thank you for doing these videos❤

    I appreciate your honesty when it comes to switching up your system! I've probably changed mine like six times now since 2023 started, and I was feeling real dumb about not having it all together yet. Thanks for making me feel less alone with this!

      Same! I bought a Cousin and Weeks on release day and have been so excited to use them. Then 2023 hit and I started panicking because I wasn't sure if I wanted to use both or just one. So, I bounced back and forth between the two, and then I was trying to use both at the same time, then I missed the freedom of a bullet journal so I switched to a Stalogy, then I missed the structure of the Hobonichi, and now I'm digitally planning because I can't seem to get my paper planner life together...

    I like the idea of a 7 day challenge as opposed to a full month challenge ... just enough time to see what works well and what doesn't. I look forward to seeing your journey.

    I too am excited to see this daily journey. With all the beautiful, tempting, well-designed journals and expanding stationery products available to us from all over the world the "switch itch" is real. I have had to take myself in hand So many times these last few years to keep faith with a chosen planner or system and ride out the itch. The voice inside that starts whispering of a better life with a different or fresh, new notebook is so beguiling. Good luck. I'm here for the experience!

    Hi everyone, I wanted to let everyone know that the editing style of this series is heavily inspired by @MeganRhiannon over here on youtube. If you do not follow here already, I highly recommend following her content (it's the best). I've been a fan of her planning style for years, and love the feel of her attic archives series. I've also been into several other 'cozy artist vlogs' over here on youtube and I'm drawing inspiration from there. My intent was not to copy Megan - but I think I've followed her style a bit too close. Thank you all for watching and the feedback. I'll be working to adjust the editing style throughout the remainder of the challenge.

    Hi Lindsey! I’m using a Cousin for the first time this year, it’s my first ever physical planner. I’ve been journaling since a kid, so it’s working really well for me as I journal in the daily pages and use the monthly and weekly for task management and events. I’ve been really wanting to buy a traveler’s in regular size recently I think mostly because of fear of missing out. I’m a PhD student so I always need at least an extra notebook in addition to the cousin for project management, meeting notes, random notes, etc… I’m using a Midori MD notebook currently, I love it but I wish I could separate all the different bits, rather than having a ‘catch all’ notebook, which, again, made me think traveler’s may work for that. I’m scared of hating the non-laying flat nature of the traveler’s and also I’ve never used that size before, I’m a big A5 fan. I’d love to hear your thoughts, since you just left the regular traveler’s 😊 thank you!

    • @lindseyscribbles
      @lindseyscribbles  Рік тому +1

      I really enjoy the standard size! I think if you’re coming from an a5 it won’t be that big of a change. It’s sort of surprising all you can fit in there. Biggest tip on getting things to lay flat would be to bend the spines of the inserts to get them to lay flat more naturally, getting a heavy clip is a huge help, or you can always take the insert out of the notebook if you’re wanting to have a bit more control.
      Three inserts is my personal max for the standard size - after that I find it a bit hard to navigate.

    I know what you mean about the jumping in and out of notebooks, as I've experienced something similar with different hobbies or aspects of life. I find that reflecting deeply about how I am going to integrate something into my work/life flow helps me to take steps that I don't end up regretting too much. Obviously, there's a little experimentation that has to occur, but I find waiting until I really feel that a particular solution solves a problem or alleviates an obstacle, I won't try to integrate into my life. Just my 2c
    Your videos have been helpful in setting up my own system. Thanks!

    Oh thank you for these videos! relaxing to watch & nice to see/hear how you’re planning & thinking. also - those pen cases are gorgeous!!! 🤩🤩🤩 are those the “iron black” ones & the “flat tool case” version? i’m having a few pen cases but mostly the once that can stand (don’t remember what they’re called right now though), but those isn’t good for fountain pens… I have one flat one but it feels too big for having the fountain pens in & there’s just small loops for other pens that doesn’t fit fountain pens unfortunately.

    • @lindseyscribbles
      @lindseyscribbles  Рік тому

      thanks for watching! yes, both of these are in the iron black color and the flat tools case version. They're a bit pricy but I was on the hunt for something that was going to be good for housing my fountain pens and wasn't leather. I'd recommend them!

    Since you aren't a writer by profession (is it a hobby?), what do you write about (generally) in your 'morning pages'? I looked at The Artist's Way and came away with it being an outlet for creatives working through stuff (writer's block, idea generation, etc.). As an IT professional as well, I'm curious what you (again generally) write about that wouldn't fall into your normal daily journaling. I've been struggling with trying to start a good journaling habit so I'm looking for ideas.

    • @lindseyscribbles

      Most of my morning pages are about clearing my head of random thoughts. It helps me work through some of my anxiety. This weeks topics have been about planners, work stress, editing helping me feel creative, etc. usually I do less than a page a day. Hope that helps!
