You brought up such a good point about being influenced by online creators. Muting is something I did this year and it really helped, sometimes if I don’t know about it I don’t want it works 😅. Wishing you the best for 2025 release. I’m trying the A5 Stirling Ink for the first time
I got influenced soooo much this year. But sometimes we need to take a step back and look at what we like and what works for us and then see what other people use. Once you know yourself is easier to not get influenced as much and just enjoy other peoples journeys and content :)
I definitely took time to narrow down the companies I buy from quite a bit. I have specific places I go to for specific themes and styles. The other thing I've started doing is that I've found some amazing sticker makers with Patreons and they offer *so much* for your subscription and since I can print and cut my own, it cuts down on a lot of the impulse purchasing because I can just make something that works. I know not everyone can print and cut but it's definitely still a good avenue to look into if you can.
@@Whatttupv I originally got mine and used it for vinyl and it's been incredibly useful for other things on that. I think I'm on 3 different sticker/journal kit makers' Patreons and only one of them doesn't keep kits up from past months but the quality of artwork is so good for me that I still don't mind.
You had me at mind maps. I have been starting to use these for school. Thanks for sharing. This has inspired me to really see what I need to compare to the wants. -Kat
Thanks for making this video. I’m keeping it pretty simple this year also. I don’t watch many planning videos either as I don’t want to be influenced. So I understand completely where you are in that aspect.
❤️ I think that once you figure out what works for you and what you really need, it’s easier to learn to enjoy other people’s content and just know that their lives are in different spaces that ours and that’s okay!
I’m very new to planners and recently started using a couple. I’m enjoying it. I have a Hobonichi Weeks that I use as a gratitude journal and a basic weekly planner with more space for work and daily life. I got the weekly at the Dollar Tree just to test it out and see how I liked using one. I’ve found both very beneficial. I have purchased a Hightide Weekly for the upcoming year and just last night purchased my new Weeks as well. I am grappling with getting another weekly in a different format to see which I like better. I’ve also started using fountain pens and it has all been really great so I’m excited for the year to come.
I should have done this mapping before starting my 2025 buys! I am in a Wonderland222 B6 all-in-one planner this year and love it! I also like to have a spiral vertical timed weekly up on my desk with my time obligations marked out in view. I have many others but not sure why. Enjoyed Franklin Covey Compact-ring size for much of the year. For next year, I am considering trying the Sterling Ink B6 All-in-One just to try it, Inkwell Press Goals planning, maybe Half Letter discs for work. I like the B6 to keep as archive with all in it. The others are really distractions and for fun. Thanks for sharing!
Thanks! I love your thought process and you helped me rethink my planner purchase this year. I’ve been considering paring down my planner system. Your video gave me some great ideas.
I'm deciding between literally cute or functional. I'm either fuk plans I just want cute cats or that planner is perfect for organising, I want to be a better person 🤣😅
I decided for 2025 to stick with blank/dot grid inserts for my standard TN. I don't like the pre-printed planner inserts as I don't have as much creative freedom and for me, I use it for on the go memory keeping and cafe journaling more than anything else. I'm still going back and forth on the size of Hobonichi I want. I really like the weeklies of the Cousin but there's not enough room in those if you get the separate weekly book they sell. I've been considering a Day Free because of this and to not be tied down by the pre-dated pages but I'm still not entirely sure on that. I like it as a journal but it can be so daunting when you fall out of the habit and are trying to get back into it.
@@Whatttupv My thought was start with the day free and if I need more, I can go into a plain graph notebook and refer back to the monthlies or get a second one. It's not too different than an avec but just without the dailies.
This video was so so helpful and I am going to do something similar so I can brain dump and process. Out of curiosity, what was your experience with Sterling Ink that did not work for you?
For me it did not work that it didn’t have daily pages dated. Because I kind of got tired of dating them myself and I like consistency on dates. Also for some reason the paper and the cover was just different than Hobonichi for me. So I choose Hobonichi again this year instead.
Last year I got stuck in the SI frenzy and most of them didn’t work for me. I love the planners, but for 2025 I need to plan and spend a whole lot less. I’ll be posting my mind map video this week since I’m running late to the 2025 planner game. LOL

@@AxisOAnarchy I definitely want to purchase a printer and also cutter to cut my own stickers from home (and make my own).

Its hard sometimes to put wants and needs apart but I think is really important otherwise we end up with tons of stuff!
This has been so helpful for my own planning. Thank you for sharing your thoughts in such a cohesive, comprehensive way!!
Thank you for watching! And good luck for the upcoming year while selecting planners and journals ❤️

Ohhh I love hightide! I used one for UA-cam and it was great, super nice paper too. Which weeks did you purchase? I am so excited for 2025 ❤️
@@Whatttupv I got the Hiroko Kubota Night Cherry Blossom Snow Globe. I love elephants and snow globes so it seemed perfect.
