Brings back so many memories. I’ll never forget him.
Love the Commodors. Lionel Ritchie is the GOAT of the love songs in the 70s. You have to listen to "Still" by The Commodors. It's beautiful 🎙🎵💖
Don't forget one of the greatest love songs, ever, imho, Lionel Ritchie's "Truly". Also, "You Are" and "All Night Long" are bangers. So glad Lionel was elected to Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, He 'truly' deserves it.
It's a gorgeous song 😁
u 2 are the most romantic couple I hav ever seen u so in love with each other hope I find that kind of love one day it so special shaun u are so sweet the way you hold ur wife hand love listening to you
He said that he wrote this song for his parents 50th anniversary. His father told him how beautiful she was as a mother, wife, and mother-in-law. He said "I don't know how she did it, but she's my friend and my love." Awwwww
Probably the most played song at wedding receptions in the 70's, even mine.
One of the most amazing songs ever wriiten.❤❤ brings back childhood memories . I was born in 69 so I grew up with this awesomeness. My dad would sing this to my mom ❤
The love and appreciation you two have and show each other is a beautiful thing!💞
I agree with all the other song suggestions, I would also add the beautiful duet with Diana Ross called ENDLESS LOVE.
I am tearing up watching y’all listen to this love song!
LIONEL..CLASSIC..SO ROMANTIC..SINGING ABOUT HOW BEAUTIFUL A LADY LOVE IS,NOT CURSING HER OUT,
Shawn, tell us you just fell in love w/ your wife all over again w/out saying you just fell in love w/ your wife all over again!! Your vibe is awesome! xo
Love Lionel and the Commodores , any thing you play by them will not disappoint you ♥️
I NEVER missed The Midnight Special. They always had the best on the show. Lionel Richey is in a class all by himself!
I danced to this song, with my dad, on my wedding day 36 years ago. He passed away 4 years later.
I'm so very sorry.
What a beautiful song to dance with your dad. ♡
I love it when Shawn reaches out and takes Mel's hand ,and kisses it.Seems so effortless and natural.Mel never resists .That's a sign of true love. You guys are an amazing inspiration.
Lionel can sing the Newspaper and make it sound good.Love that guy.
Lionel Richie wrote" Lady" by Kenny Rogers he also covered it himself Beautifully.
"Zoom"and "Sweet Love" my two favorites.
Oh my gosh. I love this man. I love that song. My daughter and I saw him in 1986 in concert in Oklahoma City.
Shawn & Mel, you'll love their "Brick House", "Still" and "Nightshift" !!!
Nightshift was way after Lionel left- yet it is still one of their best songs!!!!!!!!! a lovely tribute to soul/R&B singers Jackie Wilson and Marvin Gaye, both of whom died in 1984.
Agreed!
Sail On is great also.
Sweet, sweet song and reaction. I love that you show your precious love tastefully. ❤
Every word Lionel sings is pure gold!🎙🎶💛
The Commodores are one of the BEST Groups EVER! They bring back so many Memories for me.. First Love, Summer Nights, Heartbreak, Joy, EVERYTHING!
Always love Lionel Richie songs.Truly was our wedding song 40 years ago👍💕
Such a beautiful song that stay top on the charts..
What a classic, memorable song.
Glad you guys enjoyed it. 👍😎💯
My favorite song of Lionel's and to me the best song he's ever written and he's written many
With that reaction, I don't know if I love the two of you or Lionel more. That was a beautiful reaction to a beautiful song. I saw the Commodores back in the late 70's and it of course was an incredible concert and experience! Thanks guys!!
we had such incredible music...there will never be this caliber of music again
My Favorite Slow Dance with my Lady Song! 💕🎶 Sing to her Lionel!! 🎤
Commodores were one of my favs!!!!!!! And still are!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lionel Ritchie, the greatest writer of love songs in the R&B/R&R era.
Lionel Richie Stuck On You
Now that's what I call real music, that was really impressive
You two are so fantastically adorable! It’s so refreshing to see two good people In love, sharing their lives snd sharing great music, being so positive about life and each other! Thank you for getting me through a very rough time stuck at home with covid. I really am enjoying your videos!
A Iconic Song & Group!🥰😱🥺🤣🤗🎶💃
This was usually the last song of the night at the night clubs. just love it.
I was so fortunate to see him sing this live in concert when I was a teenager. My friend and I got tickets to see the Commadores perform at the Forum in Los Angelas. We waited in line for hours at Ticket Tron to get those tickets. Unfortunately were up in the "cheap seats", but what a party it was. My goodness, they had 12,000 people up singing and dancing. The sound was great even though we were so far up. We had binoculars and could see them on the stage performing, their costumes and dancing were great. Lionel and his ballads, just melted our hearts. After it was over, the audience started roaring, clapping and stomping their feet, to get them to come out for another song. I got a little scared then because it felt like the whole building was shaking! Then when they came back out to sing, absolute silence filled the arena. Everyone held up a cigarette lighter and waved it around, I had never seen that before it was so beautiful like stars. I bought a red Commodore's t-shirt and wore it till it disintegrated. Sure would like to have that t-shirt again. It was a magical night. :)
One of the best songs EVER‼‼‼‼‼‼‼
I'm not even crying at the song I'm crying at Shawn taking Mel's hand❤️😭 you guys are so awesome! But I'm also crying at the song LOL so good
Lionel Richie’s love songs are perfection! So beautiful! ❤️
I saw the Commodores three times in the 70s, in Atlanta! Talk about 18,000 people never sitting down when they performed it was show to remember, they are music exceptional
the best song ever written about a mother
You're doing it again !! Showing the love you have....so special ❤❤❤❤❤❤
Love the Commodores. 43 yrs with the same man and still going strong. i love you baby and so proud to be your wife.
This, my friends, is a love song. Beautiful reaction, too, Shawn and Mel. 💗
Back in 2015 my wife was working a night shift job and would get home around midnight. I would usually have a meal ready for her when she got home. On the night of June 22 that year (our 30th anniversary); I not only had the meal ready for her, but also my kareoke machine ready. As she walked in the door, I keyed it up and sang this song to her.
Kendall...u did not!! I don't have any good stories like that!!!
@@michaelasay8587 Sure did; even though not sure just how off key I was.
Beautiful song 💖💖🎶🎶you're lovely couple 💖🌼
What a wonderful song! Listen to STILL!
Love, love, love this song! My favorite Commodores song. So many bittersweet memories of my youth!
Just gorgeous! As suggested, you’ll also love “Still” and “Endless Love” with Diana Ross. ❤️
Love this version! So talented!
This was one of the most popular love songs of that time. Still is popular today.
Sound track to my jr high years. These guys were on top of the world back then. It was written by Lionel. Seeing y'all together reminds me of me and my wife.
The perfect Wedding song! ❤❤❤❤
ahh the real good old days.. soo much love being put out.
Richies ballads were hits after hits😊I’m glad I finally saw him few years ago.
Lionel wrote this song for his lovely wife. A wonderful tribute
OHHH this was my very very fav song when I was in my younger years Still is!
Have to listen close at the very beginning to catch that this is a break-up song. "...& now that we've come to the end of our rainbow...". This one always makes me cry.
Yes... Lionel when he was still eith the Commodores.❤❤❤❤He writes all the songs
This song reminds me of my parents. Miss them both
Fantastic, I love hearing Lionel sing! ❤️❤️❤️
My mother/best friend died 25yrs ago.... This song says it all!
It's hard to believe this is live ... what a VOICE! ♡
This is my favorite song by him, but like them all.
When us older folks say we miss the good ole days, this is a great example of why. 😢
People forget but Lionel Richie was the BEAST in the 80s, he was even bigger than Michael Jackson and Prince in the 80s. Great singer.
This Song Is For all Of The Ladies Of The World 🗺️!!!!!!!!
Love this song! ✌❤🎶 after all these year's this song still gives me chills..
OMG, another great song, I played this over and over as a teenager,so lovely 🌹
I have a special fondness for The Commodores. They are from my home state. They are truly a special group that has stood the test of time. And FINALLY Lionel Richie is being inducted into the Rock Hall of Fame. The Commodores should be next!
Finally! Waaaay overdue!!! ♡
When I was 15 or 16, I went to a Commodores concert. It was general admission, believe it or not. Which met, once you got there you could sit anywhere you wanted. I invited a friend along. However, her mother wouldn’t allow her to go without a chaperone. So my mom agreed to go with us. We got there early and we got the front row. While waiting, the stage was being set up. The stage manager, came down to speak to my mom, my friend and I. He invited us to stay after the show, so he could introduce us to the band. We were introduced to everyone but, Lionel Richie. We visited for a few hours. When it was time for us to go, William King, one of the members of the Commodores. Walked my mother, my friend and I back to the car, to insure our safety. I never forgot that, it was so kind of him.
The opening band for The Commodores at that time was a group called L.T.D. (which stood for Love, Togetherness and Devotion). I’ve never seen anyones reaction to their must. They were really, really good. I even had them on vinyl.
Some of their songs are as follows…
Love Ballad-1976
Back in Love Again-1977
Holding On (When Love is Gone)-1978
I just love you Shawn & Mel 🥰
Wow, that's incredible! And, I also remember the band LTD and haven't thought of them in years. I especially would recommend their song Back In Love Again.
Beautiful reaction from you both
I had that record, I was about 10 yrs old. 70's music rules!
Me too😊👍
Another one their gonna love and probably cry to...
He is one of my favorite singers and song writers ❤ ,and he doesn't age he still is a very good looking man ❤ .Thank you for reacting to them ❤. Much love to you and your family 💕Brandi Modrak 💕
A beautiful song. My daughters father always requested this song whenever he would see me out in the local bar or club to be played for me . We were not together anymore, the patrons of the bar or club always had a good laugh and yelled out Kitty there's your song😀😄
I love how Shawn has no problem showing his emotions during romantic songs like this- bravo!
Did you know that Lionel over heard his dad talking to his mother telling her that she was three times a lady, so he wrote this beautiful song.
I would love to hang out with you two and listen to great music! Thank you for always making my day turn around!
I wish I had a dollar for every time I danced to this song back in the late 70's early 80's. Great song, great memories.
When I was incarcerated I was talking to a brother about how I didn't know what to write my girl. He said and I quote 'just write your'e once twice Three times a Lady..:.
Mr. De'grate I thank you.
There's are a lot of great music from them.
Not only one of the greatest songs of the 70's but I believe one of the greatest songs ever recorded. I saw the Commodores in 1980 at the Cow Palace in San Francisco. It was an amazing concert.
This was a GREAT slow dance song and everyone needs a slow dance or two at the high school dance. You may not know that Ritchie is a huge country music fan and has sung with the group Alabama.
Their first #1 hit
A great song.
That's what you call "real music!" Beautiful! Remember when it came out.
Bar none, my moms favorite song ever. She loved my Dad so much but it didn’t work out. This song makes me cry thinking back hearing her play this so much. Reminiscing on their relationship. She never remarried.
Timeless classic
So beautiful- anyone else think of Eddie Murphy?
I know ya'll loved that. You love each other and it shows. You didn't stop the song. You melted in it.
I love your genuine reaction. No words are necessary.
Some sweet slow dancing to this song back in the day
A Stone Cold Classic!
Proud to know Lionel Richi is from Tuskegee Alabama.
The Commodores and Lionel Ritchie are awesome so many great song. check out brick house 1977. might light - [Dazz band - we have more than love-I've been waiting]-[Brick - push,push-don't ever lose your love]-[Gap band - party train-burn rubber on me(why you wanna hurt me) ]-[Zapp&Roger-more bounce to the ounce 9:22 m. long-Doo Wa Ditty (blow that thing) ] great reaction S&M.
I would love to have one of their outfits
I was a teenager then, daydreaming that I would find a man to love me like that. Took me until 2012, but I found him ❤️
A smooth beautiful song - The Commadores was a great group. This is one of my wife’s favorite songs. You all have a blessed Sunday
Great Memories
My God!!!!!
My hubby used to sing this to me and melt my heart
Very rare to hear that 2nd verse. I have always loved this song!!
