    You comment that the hearing aids can be set to an individual's hearing loss. This is not the case because the app does not perform even a basic hearing test. All the app does is let the wearer choose the sound they think is most pleasant. When you have hearing aids professionally fit, we initially determine the degree of loss across frequencies then develop a prescription to correct the precise degree of loss. We also rule out medical issues that might be contributing to hearing loss, which, if remediated, might result in no need for hearing aids.

    Thank you for the review. I recectly purchased a pair of the All Day Slim and have been very pleased with them. I have used Sennheiser products for many years in the music world and knew their quality would be great. I would like to see the app go to like a 5 band eq with a seperate one for each ear for a little better fine tuning since my hearing loss is not the same in both ears.
    Thanks again for the review!

    Great review! Got a pair and absolutely love them! Didnt realize how bad my hearing got from 50years of drumming. I want to get an extra charger and was wondering if the identical looking phonak charger would work with these.

      Glad they are working out. My guess on the charger is yes but I’m not 100% sure.

    Thank you so much for this. After visiting with an audiologist, I'm now exploring options. I'm a musician with hearing loss. The quality of sound is very important to me. I'm a big fan of Sennheiser products. In my professional career, I use Sennheiser in-ear monitors, headphones, and other technologies. But my question is, how does these hold up against the flagship prescription brands, like Widex and Phonak? Are the Sennheiser units on that level, or would I still be better off going for the "real thing" if I can afford it? Thanks in advance.

    • @HearSoundly

      I would say these are on the level with Phonak to my ears. They manage background noise and handle very similarly. Phonak hearing aids at an audiologist will offer you more fine tuning options. One thing to note is that Widex is generally viewed as better for live music. The processing speed is faster which gives a truer sound for music. If you are not financially constrained and able to go to a local audiologist I might suggest you start with Widex.

    Would these work, well for people, that have APD. Auditory processing disorder? Or any other HA you would recommend for that?

    @hearsoundly Great review and seeing there are now credible OTC options. I also have a question on behalf of my father who is 85 and increasingly struggles with arthritis in his fingers - his hearing aids (phonak) require a wax filter to be routinely attached to protect the opening, before reattaching the earpieces. He finds this increasingly difficult to manage and isn’t mobile to go see the supplier / audiologist. Are there any other hearing aid options that would offer comparable sound quality but a more manageable user experience?

    • @HearSoundly
      @HearSoundly  7 місяців тому +2

      This is a great question. Unfortunately all hearing aids will need some level of wax guard replacement. Some people find the wax guards for Signia and ReSound are easiest to handle. Your father could consider hear.com to get a signia product with telecare and video support. We just published a full video on that one here ua-cam.com/video/rvMHoN-2kuk/v-deo.html&t

    Hi Blake. Your video starts with a brief history of the Sennheiser brand and its much deserved reputation in the audio industry. However, let's not lose sight of the fact that this hearing aid was actually developed by Sonova and sold outside of the US under a different name, long before Sonova acquired any interest in the Sennheiser company. So how much Sennheiser skill and know how went into the development of these aids is somewhat open to question. .

    • @HearSoundly
      @HearSoundly  8 місяців тому

      Yep good point! I had a chance to talks with the Sennheiser team about this and it sounds like they influenced some parts of the sound handling. To my ears this basically sounds like Sonova though. That’s a good thing to me because Sonova knows what they are doing in hearing health.

    Thank you for the great video. Question. I’m in the market for a pair of OTCs for my grand father. He’s not very technologically inclined. Does this product loose its preset settings. So if I was to set them up to his specifications, will these settings be reset if the hearing aids die? Also, do you know if this app is available in Europe? Thank you!

    • @HearSoundly
      @HearSoundly  2 місяці тому

      Good questions. The hearing aids will hold their pre-sets regardless of power on and off status until you update them again. I’m not sure about the app! I know you can’t buy the product outside of the U.S. but I’m not sure about the ability to download the app. I’m assuming you should be able to. You could try downloading it before purchase to double check.

    I purchased these! But they are going back. All right, I am a fiscally restricted nerd who requires Android compatibility. But when I opened the box, I was very much disappointed to find that not only are the hearing aids using contact charging but also Micro-USB. Who does that in 2023? I cannot help but feel like these are some old Phonak/Sonova hearing aids that have just been renamed Sennheiser. Have not tried them so they might be fine. But they are not cheap for OTC. I think I will spend a bit more for the Okra Two. Ahh nerd

      @sennheiser 7 місяців тому +3

      Hi Nicholas - thanks for the feedback and note. The All-Day Clear Slim case indeed charges with USB-C and All-Day Clear (non-slim) has a micro USB. Both models come with all of the necessary cords in the box, however, so everything you need to charge is indeed included.

    What about durability when taking them out of the ear, I noticed it doesn't have a wand or attachment to take them out of the ear just the cable going to the receiver in the canal. Over time won't this cable come loose or break. This might be a concern.

    • @HearSoundly
      @HearSoundly  2 місяці тому

      Interesting question! We haven’t heard about any breaks or issues. This style is pretty standard for hearing aids and I think the manufacturer (Sonova) probably factors this action into their design. True that this is unique to hearing aids. We don’t grab very many other tech items by their wire.

    @HearSoundly I'm trying to research on behalf of my father. I'm having difficulty find answers to his questions.
    1) Where do we go to have these serviced? I noticed on their website they state if under warranty they send you a new pair and you send the broken ones back? My father is concerned about the cable that runs from the unit to the in ear piece. He has a similar solution now and those cable tend to break after some time.
    2) Then I've seen other statements quoting 7-10 days to process? Does that mean process the request and additional time required to actually fix the problem?
    3) Do they have service centers across the US? I live in Mountain View California and wanted to know if there were local service centers.
    4) Are there advantages to ordering from the Sennheiser website or do you receive the same level of service if ordering from an authorized dealer like Amazon. If we go through Amazon we can save 5%.
    5) They seem to sell tips and ear wax barriers ? What should we get in the way of accessories?

    • @sennheiser
      @sennheiser 7 місяців тому

      @ContentMOderator8798 thanks for the question to Soundly, who has asked us to chime in here. All-Day Clear devices were indeed intended to outlast their warranty, but in the event that you needed service, the All-Day Clear website facilitates returns/exchanges-Sennheiser would email a prepaid label to send the devices back via FedEx. Once received, a new kit with devices would be sent out assuming the general conditions for an exchange are pacified. Wear and tear on devices really depends on the wearer and is tough to speculate, however All-Day Clear is built for everyday use, all day long. With respect to service, there is no advantage to buying direct versus Amazon and it is about what is most convenient for the shopper. Your father sounds like a good candidate for the in-clinic are package (which is optional) and lets you tie the purchase to a nearby hearing care professional, if desired. At our website (www.sennheiser-hearing.com/alldayclear) you can use the locator to see which of our Hearing Care Professionals near you have opted in. Near Mountain View we have a few within 45 minutes. The spirit of OTC is very much a "DIY" (the processing power of the device + your smartphone/tablet take care of setup), however the in-clinic care package gives you that extra peace of mind. Lastly, our kit comes with a set of small, medium and large eartips along with extra wax guards. On our website we offer spares and accessories a la carte. I hope that helps!

      @@sennheisermy father is home bound at this stage of his life. So the in clinic won't be possible. One question that was not answered clearly was related to post warranty service. You stated the website you can initiate the service request but is that for both pre and post warranty. My dad currently has a phonak he received from the us veterans hospital but he seems to be sending it in for service quite frequently and one of the main problems he has is the thin wire that connects the ear piece to the behind the ear unit seems to break after prolonged use. So if that were to happen after his warranty expired what would the process be to have it serviced?
      With his phonak device he ends up sending it back to the manufacturer and the entire process takes around 1-3 months. In the meantime he has to go without any hearing aids. Any additional information you can provide would be helpful.

    • @sennheiser
      @sennheiser 7 місяців тому

      @@ContentModerator8798 Thanks for the reply and we want to extend a thank you to your father for his service. With All-Day Clear, we would replace the unit opposed to repairing it, if there were a manufacturer's defect. This significantly reduces downtime. The in-clinic care package also includes warranty extension by an additional year, so although he is home bound, could give additional peace of mind from that perspective.

      @@sennheiser Again, this does not answer my specific question. Warranty expires, something breaks (for example the line between the ear piece and behind ear unit breaks due to normal wear) - What is the process for having the unit serviced? If it breaks is the unit not serviceable and we would need to purchase another unit? What steps or process needs to be followed to have the unit repaired? Do we need to send the unit in somewhere or are there local service centers where we can drop the unit off at?

    • @sennheiser
      @sennheiser 7 місяців тому +1

      @@ContentModerator8798 if the damage is to a component we could not replace you would need to purchase a new unit. In practically all instances we would replace the unit opposed to repair. During a service claim under warranty, the end-user would disclose the issue to us using the online claim form, of which a support specialist would determine if it should be replaced or if there is other support required. You would send it to an address we provide at that time and as of this writing we do not have a local service center to drop the unit off at.
