The trick isn't working ? Here it is what else you can try to make that crazy dude to sell his best goods: - Reload your game over and over. - By using chapter select , go to 7-1 , talk to him once and then clear some story quests or simply go to areas that the map is refreshed , ex: Desert, Forest etc. - If you don't have chapter select and he is already near the resistance camp without the right items , go to somewhere else and get back till he changes his position , then try this method again or keep reloading your game to see what he offers next time. If doing all this he still doesn't sell the items you want , sorry but I have no explanation for that . From my perspective, it seems to be a bug.

Tried doing the exact same thing, even left him in the same place. Not far enough for him to respawn. Went into the desert, nothing changes. He respawns, but always near desert entrance. Every. Single. Time.
I found a guaranteed way to do it. If you have completed playthrough C, chapter select 14-1. Then, go to the first teleporter and go to Desert Camp. You will find Emil nearby towards city ruins. BUY SOMETHING from him, then run to Resistance Camp. He will spawn over here (as of 2/20/2018), and just shoot him down. If he doesn't have the weapons and dress module (but has really good materials and stuff, you did it correct, but you'll have to repeat this process one more time.) If this is the case, then start heading back towards the desert. You SHOULD get mail from Emil saying "Wayyyy Boredddddd". Read this mail. This is the reason the weapons didn't show up in his shop. Now, simply repeat the steps in my first paragraph, and it should now have the weapons and dress module.

Im currently right after the part that Pascal's village has some *difficulties*, and Emil was spawning in the open grass field by Engalls. Did this process and he kept spawning over there, but his inventory was still changing. So now I can get the weapons, dress module, pristine screws, cables,everything I need. Thanks again. No matter where Emil spawns for me, he always only sells the screws and wire material stuff, or chips. Even if it's by the resistance camp, is this happening because I took his mask?

This still works even if its not your first play through. Just make sure you speak to him first before going to the bridge and zoning back in and out. worked 2nd time for me.
Guys This is my experience: 1) chapter 15-01 2) Teleported to (desert: camp) 3) bought from emil *he then gave me the line where he tells me he lives deep under the ground* 4) transported to (city ruins: near the tower) *emil was no longer in the map* 5) transported to (city ruins: near factory) Then I found him on the map around the resistance camp I think it maybe worked because he went to his house? Maybe he changes his location faster when he goes to his home
I have pretty much every weapon except Type-3 fists which you have to get from Emil. Also, Emil sells quality items like Pristine Cables, Memory Alloy, Clean Nut, etc but I can't get him to spawn properly to where he sells such good quality items. He's usually always by the City Ruins (Center) when I run back and forth to different areas trying to change his route.
For my playthrough i decided to just sell junk to Emil. not sure if that did the trick but when I transported back to the resistance camp Emil would spawn just outside the area, with his sped up music. I still had 9S with so uh.... anybody else tried selling him stuff? May help, I got the dress module & weapons in just thirty minutes
The dress module doesn't show for me, do I have to complete endings A-E in order to have it available in Emil's shop? Every time I do this he just has plug in abilities.
Nope this is a very early game , but , as I stated at the end of the vid , this method may not work properly when using chapter select , I don't know the reason , in a full completed save game he spawned there without this items , so I tried different ways to make him spawn there . I selected chapter 7-1 talk to him once then I crossed the entire map to near the resistance camp , saved and reloaded bingo he was selling them , if that still don't work try yourself different ways , that dude is pretty messed up lol
A week late reply, so you've likely got it by now, but it's because you didn't have the email from Emil. What triggers their special inventory is a random email you get from them saying they're bored.
Usually people fuck up dubbing japanese to english so I choose japanese whenever I can. But in this case the english dub was way better. At least for me. So stuck with english for this game.

On my first playthrough, and I got the weapons + dress module shop on my first sight of him lol. Second time I shot him, I got the +6 chips shop. Gotta say something for RNG, now all I need is the crafting materials shop.

I did this once accidentally by loading a saved game , then I started to search on YT if there was an easier way to do this and I found a Japanese guy's(girl?) video showing how to do this , the props goes to him(her) , all I did was make a video to English speakers find this method.
Glad to get all this views in a game that I want to succeed , never got this many in such a short period of time . I really hope that this game is selling enough to Squarenix release the other games of this series in the PS4 or , Yoko Taro decides to make a DLC with more story and side quests :)

Yeah, it helped me a lot, i saw the video and just tried to start playing at the chapter where u have to go to the shopping mall until i fight a2 and get back to pascals village and it worked instant XDD
I am not going to lie. I did this trick after waiting for Emil to move from the desert for HOURS! Boom! first time he moves to the resistance camp! I screamed my head off in victory!! Were my parents home, they'd think somehow was murdering me! Then, I shoot him in the wrong spot and he sells me the same bloody chips... Victory was short lived after that.
Thanks, I had to start a second playthough because it got bugged he just wouldn't switch locations, but it worked on the second and now I got the stuff :)
Well you’re lucky then , I’m doing exactly the same but he doesn’t even respawn , hes just staying in the exact same location and exact same place I hit him in the desert camp :(

Worked-ish for me! Endings: ABCHKT Chapter Select 7-1 9S ran the route in the video a few times, and finally got him to move for the first time (for me) but he got stuck selling plug ins no matter what location he was in. Started reloading from Resistance Camp until he spawned near by, and he was selling all of it! It took about 10 reloads. Thanks!

You also have to let his dialog play out and not skip it when first talking to him after you get him to stop

Don't even need to do this, Just save, load save see if he spawns in desired area, if not reload your save till he is. :)
For me , I felt it took longer that way , because loading a game is way slower than run back and forth , maybe is just my PS4 though ...
If your game is that slow, look for something better to run it on lol, it takes a few seconds for me, at most 10 seconds.

Last time I checked liking a way a language is spoken doesn't make you a "weeb".

Emil just follows me everywhere
I stopped him in that exact spot and he sold only chips. This is really frustrating

It is because you have to reach a certain part of the story , were he appears , finishing the story quest in a forest will make him spawn here.
