- incase anyone wonders what the blue light effect on 2B is,
it's caused by the Engine Blade Lv4, this adds the Shift Avoid effect which appears to be purely cosmetic. (based on Noctis from FF15)

What the fuck was wrong with squenix putting this in such a brilliant game. This seriously almost gave me a stroke and made me want to quit the whole game entirely. Still haven't made it but i'll try after seeing this vid. Goddang what where they thinking....

Yoko Taro intentionally made this part to be not only agonizing for 2B but the player as well. I'd say he accomplished that, and it sure as shit was until I found the right path. 😥

Spoilers to the next NieR game: (Read at your own risk)
You start playing as Pod, searching the area including 4 sub-towers for Android spareparts, You will need to repair all 3 YorHa Android and also Popola and Devola.
The main story of this Sequel is to search the Long-Forgotten Human Genome. The Maps also bigger.
The main enemy still the robots, but this time the Alien invasion is coming once again.
At the end of the game, all kinds of Androids that currently alive are trying to Artificially cloning the Human while gathering the necessary BluePrints for it throughout the game.
The game will be released on PS4 Pro, PS5 and PC by 2021 Hopefully using Vulkan this time instead of DirectX 11 or 12

I got fuck luck, a machine literally punch me from the bottom of the Crater in the city to the water tower by the bridge, and I nearly almost fucking died when I almost didn't make it across. keep in mind this is my first try and haven't died yet on this part. thank God for game glitches

yeah LKJ55 is correct, from what i remember of the story (been a year now) she wanted to die in a area where no other androids we're so she couldn't pass on the logic virus.

This part of the game is so annoying, frustrating, and honestly just the worst thing ever put into a video game.
I actually made on my first try and thought something was wrong because she’d still died. So as soon as I got chapter select, I redid this. Over. And over. And over. Because I thought there was another ending where she lived.
Sadly nier automata doesnt give a certain ending based on your past decisions. Thats not how nier automata works

I managed this the second time trying, first time I fell down into the cave and struggled to get back up, realising I would probably run out of time so just restarted. I had tears in my eyes the whole time. It was so sad to see 2B struggle like this. I was so convinced she would have been saved too. So sad... 😭

The first time I tried this (prior to watching a video) I went to the cavern jump and as I got half way over the virus kicked back in and I plunged down and raged-quit. Tedious, yes, tiresome, yes but it's deliberately agonising for a reason and while it makes for sadistic gameplay, I can still appreciate it.

Y'know, self destruct being ingame only used for clothing destruction aside... you'd think that given what the androids can canonically do, 2B could just have blown herself up anywhere to stop the spread of the virus. The very beginning of the game shows that they're able to detonate their black boxes after all. And IIRC, they also did the exact same thing to get to the infected Bunker just minutes earlier.
And in hindsight, had she self-destructed, it probably wouldn't have broken 9S so badly and set him on a misguided rampage of revenge towards A2...
Nuh uh, in this part of the game that wouldnt be the case considering the bunker got ambushed with the same virus and then got overtooken and destroyed. Plus, even when she self-destructed the first time that didnt fully stop the virus.
Had she done it again she would probably only kill another part of the infected, but then in the process not having a place for her body to come back considering the bunker was destroyed after the fact.
But overall I understand your point, I think that'd be cool to see that play out in the actual game. It'd be interesting
I literally just died at the final bit with the two YorHa androids jumping 2B. I didn't realize I had to fight them head on for 2 second instead of dodging. Ugh.
I was so pissed off after this mission was over. the robots would continue to knock me into the center and I hated it. So when I came back as A2, I avenged 2B and beat the hell out of all of them. I don’t really cry when important characters die and that makes me feel bad but even so, if I’m given the opportunity in game, I grind hard until I can avenge them.
yoko taro just took our feelings and threw it out the window on this part

if you think about that the "pods" suddenly got their own descision mind why couldnt 2B and 9S kiss each other? did or they dont have the knowledge about it?

second: watching 2B die and never see her personality again made me really sad and angry it made me want a new Nier game with a story that great but more polished in other details
because i think this game made alot of people depressed when the rocket launched and you knew there is no humanity left anymore and they just hope the information will be catched by other civilisations in the universe by this action
i hope he yoko taro writes a story minimum this great but not that sad
i just feel so crushed and depressed about the ending (even the real ending where 9s 2b and a2 survive , but not sure if 2b made it)
that i just want another game of Nier which just satisfy my needs in the Nier universe

This is a year late, but there is a bit of a sequel to ending E in the form of Music Concert (it’s a live script reading by the VAs, really), titled “Farewell”. Go look it up and see if that is enough to give you closure to the story.
Just make sure to watch the actual stage play and not the transcription made beforehand because they have different ending. The transcription was distributed before the play, so Yoko Taro decided to distribute a false ending so as to avoid spoiler.

And no, there is no frozen human embryo. The human genome has been preserved on the moon, and that's it.
If you get to the playthrough where you play as 9s and A2, the first tower boss scene with 9s really makes you speculate what really happened between the humans and machines. My theory is the humans had their souls transfered to the machines before they went extinct. That's why the machines are always saying help me almost begging you to put them out of their misery.
I think a lot of it is up to interpretation. Most people think they just use incomplete old gestalt data that make them mimic humans as machines/androids cant have souls. Some of the things that happened to the humans was also explained in project gestalt. The fake memories in machines and androids alike are probably just to give them motivation for the grand design that controls both of them
Thanks for this. Got through it. Played this a long time ago and don't remember this was such a pain in the ass. Playing on hard mode now and burned through 130 healing items and couldn't get to the location after falling to the pit twice failing a jump because 2B short circuited mid jump.

lmao i went to the factory first thinking the prologue said that, then went to the desert thinking it was there because there was a marker left there thinking it was the main objective, but really it was just a marker i placed for awhile ago.
After that i found out it was the castle, and instantly nier’d the fuck out of myself.

Finally played the game after having it in my collection since its release....nearly gave up at this point...thanks for the video....will try the part again tomorrow.
I just played and beat the game recenelty just couldn't stop playing! This part gave me so much anxiety that at first i had no idea wat was going on and by the time i was in the pipe i think i was at 50% lol
and then i couldn't figure out how to get to the bridge area and by that time i was at 70% and i coudln't even jump or dash anymore just slowly limping my way to the bridge and literally made it to the bridge at 90% lol

This part made me physically ill after playing this. The flickering screen gave me a chronic headache after this scene. Does Yoko Taro have a thing for cataract vision or something?

Not to be all negative since I like this part of the game, but it sucks that the game only triggers the cutscene when you're at a certain point in the map. Why not automatically trigger the cutscene after the infected YORHA-soldiers cut away certain amount of your health? I was a couple of feet away from the hidden spot in the map where the cutscene triggers, and the infected YORHA attack and kill me, and then I had to start again from my last savepoint. (Which wasn't far, just the coastal area.) This happened twice, and then I checked this walktrough to remind myself what I should do.
The first time I played trough this game this was not an issue, frankly because I managed to get to the right spot right in time by sheer luck. Very unpredictable, sucks. I can understand having to cross the bridge, that's a good choice, but after that just cut the player some slack. Not because I want it to be easier, but because having to do this part again just because of some poorly thought out game design really hurts the how the player engages in the narrative. Oh well, could be worse.

I was wondering which way to go. I kept dying over and over again. After I watched this video. I got passed that part without any trouble. I had to do that twice because I also got ending X.
I can’t make the jump at 2:10??? Im really stumped on what I have to do. I just keep falling.
its been a while ago since i played, but i remember timing being everything. there's a short period you can move uninterrupted (every time after a stagger recovery) so its best to make the jump right after recovering from staggering. at 1:45 u can see the stagger happening (which removes the ability to jump or just straight up interrupts it while jumping), and the recovery is around 2:05 which is also the moment i started rushing to make the jump. do not pay attention to the system corrupted bar as its mostly rigged to go up the closer you get to your target, theres actually plenty of time. good luck

Navigation in this game was a pain to begin with.
Missing a ladder at the amusement park area. That stairwell tucked behind where you fight the Goliath. The maze like doors in the factory with the priest.
I got lost a lot due to how this game is structured, and this isn't helpinng. I can't even place markers to show where I've been, and I can't hide my side quests!

I like my waypoints and arrows with clear signs of raised terrain and pathways on my fucking map. Colorful and easy to notice.
Nier does that crap on purpose because it's padding. If the next game is like this I'm passing it up.

Engine Blade is my fav weapon in this game followed by the modern Yorha spear (the electricy attacks look coo). I did not know you can choose to not help 2B, most games have invisible barriers where you can't escape important scenes like this. I find it funny Yoko allowed these options for us to be genuine assholes (A2 gets the most options lol). Though my fav so far (SPOILERS FOR ROUTE B involving the fate of the machine village) is when you let Pascal live at the end. I got that accidentally since when I tried to do a charged heavy sword attack on Pascal I missed and launched A2 out of the front door, then Pascal asks wtf I cruelly did neither option, still have not finished the game so I wonder what cruel fate I left to pacifist Pascal.

the staggering that prevents you from jumping? yeah its best to do it only after recovering from staggering so you know you have plenty of time to make the jump

The most fustrating thing about this, I swear, is that one jump. I'm playing on pc, I can't get past it. This is the sort of game that pisses me off so much I have to try again in the morning, the start of the route was hard enough. The robots were level 40-50...
Side note: I finally did it! This route is actually easier and quicker than all of the other routes, so thanks!

yes its part of the story, sadly can't be avoided. it happens during chapter 11-05
if you quit playing after ending A you have only played about half the game, which is chapter 10 (game goes till ch17)

can u not use pod to shoot enemies? 2nd time I replayed this to achieve the other endings I just used pod to annihilate the machines. Although the first time yeah I don't recall using pod lol, must've been too shocked that I just kept running in hopes to save 2B
