Just bought a Happrun a few days ago since it was on sale from your videos! Set it up today and it's a great value for $40! Thank you for all the hard work you do for testing products!
The greatest service this channel provides is reviewing cheap projectors from generic brands no one outside China has heard of. There is a massive variance in quality and deviation from claimed specs among the cheap projectors. In contrast, name brand projectors more closely adhere to their claimed specs and are more similar to their competitors making reviews slightly less valuable . So many Amazon reviews are fake. I would not buy a cheap projectors without watching your review first.
So crazy how I've been watching your reviews on projectors the past week looking for a good projector for my community movie night and then bam! you upload this masterpiece. Thank you!!! ❤
I'm gonna take the money I saved on a projector and donate it to your channel as a thanks. This kind of video is a service I'd pay for from something like Consumer Reports and you deserve to be making actual dollars for it, not just YT ad revenue
Love that you are still doing these reviews. Exspecially before the holidays. Would love to see a longterm review next year. Some of these do much better than the others for longterm.
And whats interesting is, he always leaves WIMIUS out of these. And theyre one of the most rock solid in terms of after sale support and overall quality. Plus, no one talks about ther features operability. They all boast the same features but many if noty most are glitchy. Everything works and works well with WIMIUS models.
Hmm interesting because he claims he doesn’t get commission for these videos but Valerian has his videos on their website’s main page. Now I’m curious as to why he doesn’t mention WIMIUS.
I bought one of the HY300's for $40AUD delivered as a piss-take, but it's FINE for the bedroom. I laughed how good it was. Obviously I'll get something better for the motorhome, but for now, what an incredible buy
A review of the Wanbo x5 and x5 pro would be greatly appreciated. They are super duper popular in Europe and I’ve not heard you talk about them. Maybe I missed it. Keep up the good work
The letter salad brand names of all these reviewed products always cracks me up. Not going to lie, am looking for a cheap bedroom projector and while not going this cheap, it’s still good to see the variability between the low-end claims vs results!
These brands like Salange, Thundeal are all versions of Magcubic brand & I heard that some are made from Magcubic parts rejected by quality control but working fine. I have tried Salange, Magcubic HY300, HY320, HY350 & currently have the HT600 which is great except it needs projector a bit too far for getti good size
I really appreciate the video and decided that the Vamvo was best for me. delay being the lowest, though a little darker in color scenes, it still stays close to tone of will smith (happrun being the closest imo) and thought a little louder with the fan, the audio being more level imo is better.
Can we get this guy a full team similar to LTT? The internet needs THU's undivided attention and effort to review stuff from China or, frankly, anywhere. Great content. Some of the best out there in YTland.
Incredible review, as always. Would love to see this channel scale as it is bar none the best review channel on YT. There’s always more content to be had! ie Add more limited scenarios-based reviews: eg “Best to shine on ceiling over bed” or “Best for non-permanent fooball/fight nights” or “best portable” which you’ve done. Granted, even within those there are so many variables (price, fan noise, angle/keystone).
Quality work sir. I do like it when you include the projectors ability to loop videos without onscreen menus for AtmosFX videos! 😂 …that little cheap can-style short throw projector (HY-300) could have some good AtmosFX use scenarios if it doesn’t show menus between files. (Assuming it has usb input)
Wow, what a great and big job you have done. Thank you. But yes, I need this video a little early, because I've already taken Thundeal TD80W. This is a good projector but after comparison, I think there can be a better one.
I bought a HY320 last year around this time and it was so amazing. Downloaded all streaming apps I use on the regular on it and it was simply great. Even though the fan was loud I couldn't care because I connected a BT speaker to it anyways. Around may it started showing a grey brown circled stain in the middle which started at the size of a coin and is now like 60 procent of the screen... Still couldn't care because I thoroughly enjoyed the device in my bedroom until it got a major software update this summer that literally deleted all apps installed and put a software on it that didn't allow me to download those apps again. Only netflix and youtube but even those apps run like a mess since then. Now I barely use it and I can confirm that it is a e-waste product. If the update never released I would have still used it despite the big circled stain. I would happily buy another projector but at a higher price that guarantees better quality.
Honestly really funny seeing the Elephas and the Happrun against each other because I have both of these projectors. I think this is actually a very accurate representation of both projectors. I've played Burnout and Just Cause 3 on the Happrun and it works fine. Obviously not like a fast monitor, but great for a projector.
Excellent Review! Easy to follow and enough depth to make me feel like selecting one of the projectors, would have a very good idea how good it would be. It was also helpful seeing the range of quality one can find out there for up to $100 projector. Was wondering would there be a significant difference in the quality of a Projectors if I could spend up to $500. I was thinking it would be cool to see the test on Projectors between > $100 and
I absolutely love your channel and reviews, they are even better than Rtings, in my book. But I'm not sure the Groview JQ818C should be here - unless its a Black Friday sale, it's a $140 projector + tax. Still, absolutely terrific content. Congratulations again!
This is my favorite "cheap" screen: amzn.to/3ZhElrT The $25 spandex screens are unfortunately not really worth using and can lead to some ghosting because they are so see through.
Great video! How are the contrast ratios on these cheap projectors so much higher than those measured on the much more expensive portable projector comparison video that you did recently?
Couldn’t have dropped at a better time. Was looking for a cheap mini bedroom projector. Can you do a comparison of all the budget Amazon mini projectors like the HY300?
Amazing video as always thanks so much, I would like to see a comparison of all these freestyle clone projectors, there must be one that's decent, obviously I know you can project any projector onto the ceiling but the ease of doing it with these makes them so appealing and suit the needs of people who just want to get into bed and watch some netflix on the ceiling.
There is just a single factory producing HY300 in China. Different white label brands can request slight changes like operating system and processing chip, but the main components will remain the same.
I remember my 1st projector had VGA and RCA with a 640x480 resolution. The bulbs cost more than any of these projectors It's crazy how far these things have come

Awesome review and comparison! Did you have the chance to review the ONOAYO ONO3 PRO? Looks promising with 800 ANSI for the price, but since ONOAYO AY3 claims 500 ANSI and only delivered 161 in the test you made, I'm skeptical. Thank you!
Nice video, man. Could you make an update including the Thundeal TD80w? There is a fever for the Magicube HY320 on aliexpress and this TD80w looks to be a good contender
I look forward to this shootout every year. I am sure you will get to the midrange priced projectors a little later, but Im shopping hard for an affordable projector to put outside for a virtual matrix on my garage door. Brightness, 4D keystone correction (to set it offset from the driveway), and contrast ratio are my biggest considerations. Anything else I should consider for this use case?
Thank you for your amazing work! Please compare the new projectors from 100 $ to 400$ too! Did you ever test the Ultimea Poseidon E40 with 1000 ANSI Lumen, the Putrims k12 at 1200 ANSI and similars?
EDIT: He already has made this video - link below. Big fan of your work. Any chance you would consider doing a 'meta-review' of your recent past winners and alternate recos so that we that have purchased on your advice might see just a comparison of the winner tier. I understand that the cheaper options are not a fair fight often with more expensive or full-featured categories. Also, I know that you compare your 'last year's top pick' in your updated reviews, but what about comparing all past top picks (say going back five years) for those of us that may want to see if picking up a slightly used 'high end' compares against a new 'mid tier' unit? There's a large second hand market for the quality projectors, but it's sometimes hard to tell if the former high-end winner is comparable against a new mid-tier. Also, it would help to see all of your past winners stack ranked against each other. I suspect we'd see some surprises in terms of quality versus price.
@@TheHookUp Boy o boy did I lob you an inadvertent softball, huh? Thanks for this. Yes, this seems to be it! I will ask though because I seem to remember you recommending the XGIMI Halo + for a portable all around winner and it's in this video(?). I purchased it a while back and love it. I was wondering where it would fit in the winner's circle.
@@ericschulze7136 Halo+ is still a decent projector, but that space (and all projectors really) have seen some significant improvement in the last year.
You need to put a comparison to a "high end" projector for things like fan noise since 40db on the loudest of these means nothing if the high end one is 45db
the only reason why the comparison between these projectors appear balanced is because they are on the same level. Comparing a Happrun to a Hisense c1 is like comparing VCR tape quality image to one produced by a 4K BluRay. Do you really want to go there?😆
I'm moving in a few weeks and need a 4K gaming projector, will be used for half gaming half movies. I know there are no 4K/120Hz low latency, which should I get? I like the Aurora Pro but it's going to be ceiling mounted and about 8 feet from wall. Could go short throw but prefer regular.
17:04 why is your choice for flexibility the HY300 over the HY320 (either Salange or MagiCube)? I thought for sure the newer (320) version would be better. Especially in when in 12:25 the Salange HY320 is ranked higher than the HY300. Note: I'm only considering these options because I'm planning to use the projector mostly aimed on my ceiling. So the other options are not ideal.
I am looking now as well, and with all the sales, I am wanting the next step up and looking for horizontal keystoning. Looking to spend around $150 after coupon amount or Black Friday discount. I am mainly looking for the step up just to get a little bit brighter and the 4D or 6D keystoning.. important factors beyond those are as quiet as possible and works well with a Fire TV Cube and plug in speakers that I already have. Just curious what your thoughts are in this area... also the PJ40 has a large number of negative reviews with it not working after a few months of using it regularly.
Try the magcubic H450 and the byintek U14 the magcubic is a short throw and i think they both have off axis projection which is new to the single lcd projector market
Can you do a video about adjusting the settings on the projector... i bought a aurora pro based on your video and still tinkering..perhaps a walk through with how to get best image? Thank you

@@TheHookUp Thank you for your prompt response, Could you please give me a recommendation or your order of preference among those three? I would greatly appreciate it
Would have loved to know if any of the other projectors aside from the HY300 have 4 Point keystone. I wanted one that had this for under 150€ but it seems to be relatively rare...
In one of the previous year videos and year before you mentioned much better input lag for Happrun H1. I bought it and am not very happy with it. It is indeed 35-45ms
The way that these LCD projectors work, the screens can either be refreshed from the top down or bottom up depending on the manufacturer. I used to only measure the top bar, which on the Happrun will give values between 23-33ms, but now I measure all 3 bars and report the highest value.
Oh cool! Let me head on over to Amazon to pick up one of the winning projectors...Aaaand the prices have been jacked way, way up. But it's OK guys! Thanks to Black Friday deals, the prices are now only 20-30% higher! Yay!

Would have loved to know if any of the other projectors aside from the HY300 have 4 Point keystone.
I wanted one that had this for under 150€ but it seems to be relatively rare...
Toptro TR23 has 4 point, so does the HY320.
@TheHookUp Thanks!! Great videos btw 😀!!
Please make a video 200-600 dollar projector including wanbo x5 pro , wanbo davinci pro , borroso ultima, borroso atom if possible. Thankyou
If you seriously need something low latency then no projector is going to be ideal
No LCD projector will be ideal. Lots of DLP projectors can do 4.6ms at 1080p240hz with zero motion blur.
@@TheHookUp thanks for clarifying
Can you make review for Vimius W6, Groview BL-89, THUNDERDEAL TD80W
Can you review the Happrun mini?
What a great video!
Thanks a lot 😊
damn, this guy projects!
Thank you! 🙏
Is there any big difference between the groview and the nexigo pj40,
Oh cool! Let me head on over to Amazon to pick up one of the winning projectors...Aaaand the prices have been jacked way, way up. But it's OK guys! Thanks to Black Friday deals, the prices are now only 20-30% higher! Yay!
Huh?
They are all lower, vamvo is $55, happrun $46, groview $99.
@@TheHookUp Interesting. Clicking your link for the Happrun I see the original price listed as 109.99 with a 36% discount to 69.98. This is in the US. Are you perhaps in a different country? I tried logging out of my account and the prices are the same.
Though I should note that they are offering a 30% coupon on top of that, but that should still come to $48-49
Yes, you need to click the coupon codes. It is $48, you're right. Still, none of the prices have "been jacked way, way up".
Is the Magcubis hy350 any good?
Hello there, since in Europe I dont have Happrun 😢 what would you suggest?
Hahahahahaahaa I’m from great American teach in and I just subscribed
Amazing guy.
Does the Happrun have a tripod mount underneath?
Could you please test projectors in the price range of $100 to $400? 👏
February
According to Amazon reviews, Nexigo projectors only last a few months.
It depends heavily on your environment. If your room is dusty or warm it will decrease the lifespan significantly. In a cleaned air conditioned house it should last ~20,000h.
@TheHookUp strange that doesn't affect other projectors.
@@J0HN_3_16 It effects all single LCD projectors
Please review the Yabber L2s, is getting famous and i want to know if is at least better then those
