Projectors are now on the rise and the hype of getting one for your perfect home theater is more than ever.
However, you will not be able to fully utilize your projector without a projector screen.
Projector screens come at different prices, and each have its benefits.
But even a cheap screen will do wonders compared to no screen.
I explain in this video how to improve your overall projection quality by 50%, with some extra tips and hacks that you can use aswell.
In general, for the best indoor experience you want to get a fixed frame screen or a motorizor/manual projector screen.
And for outdoor usage during daylight and night time, your best bet will be to get a projector screen with a stand, or just the screen and tie it up around some sturdy objects like trees or poles.
I hope this video will be helpful to you and wish you a great day!

Came back after watching this video to let you know I got a light gray piece of fabric 60" wide and 10' long at Joann's Fabrics for $10 and it works great.
Who cares this dude doesn’t test shit just sits there and talks on a microphone after reading some Amazon reviews and product descriptions.
What a loser
I just used a white sheet lol
Great to know. Just purchased an all in 1 GPX projector and includes a 120" white screen. This will be a surprise Christmas present for my son to use with this PS5 gaming system. So, going through reviews and research. Trying to avoid too much additional cost but open to possible options so the gaming experience will be as decent graphics as can achieve. I know the clarity will never be like a flat screen TV. I may try the gray sheet method. The material you purchased is thick material? Can you provide details. Thanks
@@supercraig2009 it's just plain cotton fabric, I washed mine then put it in the dryer to take the wrinkles out. The screens they sell are folded and have fold lines that have to be ironed out without melting it. They say not to wash them.
So much color bleeds out with a cotton sheet. Not saying you have to break the bank for it, but I promise you even a non-transparent screen will give you so much more color and punch.
Your explanation on black levels is fantastic. Thank you for sharing!
Thanks for the video I learned quite a bit. What would you recommend for a motorized grey screen for use in bright room with no wall behind the screen? I have a unique house and will be mounting it from the second floor walk way that is open on both sides below to the family room and dining room.
Thanks, you speak very well!
Very well explained, thanks!!
You deserve a lot more likes than many other videos which compare projection screens.
Thanks a lot Gopinath. I appreciate the kindness!
@@LuigisProductReviews why? He didn't even show actual comparison but just affiliate marketing salesman
Thanks for the info. I'm leaning towards the Hisense PX1 pro for my basement, but I want an acoustically transparent screen of 110"...which screen would u recommend?
Great review and nice presentation.
very helpful, thank you sir!
Hi,
What would you suggest to use for 100'' electric slide screen.
Screen will be used mostly at night but with some light at home.
I need to mount it on a horizontal slide to come out of the wall first and then to unroll itself.
Great video, what's your opinion on back projection screens?
I wish I'd watched your video sooner. I wouldn't want to have a random projector screen lying around. Buying a screen at random could lead to less than ideal results. I'd prefer to have a specific projector screen, though the specific projector screen that would best fit my living room has yet to be determine. I've already ordered a screen with a stand similar to the stand screen you recommended. I figured the stand would give me the flexibility to move things around easily as I determine the best projector/screen setup for my room. I will probably eventually upgrade to a grey framed or roll up screen after trying things out. Thank you for all the information.
Thanks for your video. Question. Do you know if there is a model to put horizontally on Ruff? The idea is to watch while we are bed
Can you do best projection screen for close up projectors?? Thanks for the video and options.
Hi.. great video.. I have LG Adagio 2.0 ultra short throw projector., which screen is the best for both day and night. I have white curtains and a bright room..
So nice. My wall is slightly slanted - meaning does not look 100 percent straight and I have x3000i benq - normal throw. Which projector screen will work better for me.
Also will fix frame screen allow me to settle some difference in wall angle.
Hi thanks for this video. I have just purchased a fengmi s5 formovie with the achievement to use it in my bedroom at mostly night time. Which screen you would suggest to buy? Many thanks
Great video but the problem is that I want to fill an entire wall but it is approximately 205cm in horizontal length. How do you adapt these screens to a non standard size area that you need to fill?
GREAT INFORMATION. NICE .THANKS.
just ordered xgimi elfin, gonna need a screen.
Whao, Didn't realize that a darker screen will give me better contrast
Thanks bro, Im going for the gray fixed frame option!
Glad I could help!
:)
great video sir! thank you
You are very welcome :)
Hi @LuigisProductReviews, thank you for video, it’s really nice & helpful video.
I have recently bought VAVA Ultra short throw projector and looking to buy a best screen.
My media room has decent lighting as it has a window with curtains and my
budget is anywhere between $500 to 1000. Could you please suggest me best ALR 150” screen.
What do you think about black screens/black screen paints for ust?
I have purchased the Epson 11000 projector and want to pair it with a 2.35:1 screen. Is it worth spending more on a reference screen or will the quality not be noticeably different than Silver Ticket?
Any other alternatives for the gray screens?
But which TYPE of Silver Ticket Product projector, there are five options on Amazon. Which one is best in day and night?
Thanks for the video and very informative. I will be getting the Sony 5000es and deciding on either Elite cinegray 3D, starbright 9, or Silver ticket str.
Room will be basement with no sunlight, maybe a slight bit of ambient light on the side.
Any advice?
do you need a factory to produce it for you?
Hi, I’ve got a £800 budget, would like a grey fixed screen. What’s the best combo on the market right now for that?
Great videos buddy 👍🏾
Thanks Charlie :)
Great video. Vivo is my pick.
Hello , which screen is better for Xgimi horizon pro to look in 3d and in the day ? And which gain is better? Thanks i hope you will answer to me …
Hi I just Purchase a JVC DLA NX5 for my basement and l will probably purchase a Silver ticket screen. I was wondering what color of screen to purchase? My basement is really dark
Thanks for your response un avance & your video is the best i've watch 👍
Can vouch for #5 and I don't even have a fancy bright projector I just have a Nebula Capsule II that only puts out about 100 ANSI Lumens. I'm currently shopping around for a motorized screen to hang up over my PC because I like to use my projector as an extra large 3rd monitor.
Do you have a link for a gray drop-down screen?
Great video!
Is the silver screen actually like the silver screens in old movie theaters when movies were in black and white? I am looking to recreate that experience.
Hopefully getting the nomvdic lp500 projector for use outside.. any recommendation for this... it has i think 650 lumens. I know more preference question. But any help i appreciate..thanx in advance
Mike
I have a short throw projector that I will mount on the ceiling (above the screen). Room conditions will be dark (no ambient light) most of the time. Screen cannot be a fixed screen. What should I be looking for?
When you say, there are no projector screens that do not support 4K, would that also apply to my 21-year old Da-Lite screen, which is prior to HD and 4K technology? If so, I really have little reason to upgrade it, don't you think?...
Thanks!
Can it be used on the wall.... must the screen be taken for sure.... tell me a good projector screen at least.... if possible also give the link...... projectors 🤝🤝🤝🤝 tell me the color too
this is nice. I'll get one for my Halo.
the last projector screen for fixed frame when i click the link it don't say grey on amazon ?

Good day please Help me.
We bought an outdoor projector with 5000 lumens but still the image is not clear during daytime. How to adjust or use during daytime. Thank you so much and I really appreciate it 🙏
I bought Samsung LP7 120" and Black Diamond Zero edge. Picture is not clear its better i can use without screen. so i am replacing the screen with VAVA ALR. Not sure this would be best choice to buy it. Mine is not a media room but it has three windows thats it.
How can we order
I have a event venue i need bigger screen

Great video man, shot time , lot of good information..!
Couple of questions ,
1) How to know whether a screen is damaged when buying outside
2) what da-lite and screen innovations screens more costly
3) how to differentiate 16:9 vs 2.35:1
10:06 "Feel free to ask in the comments below. I will answer them ASAP". Well, he's not a man of his word, is he? 😂
I just bought a short throw projector (Optoma GT1080HDR ) its gonna be ceiling mounted , gonna have a dedicated space for it , have already installed blackout curtains , what projection screen could you recommend , anything in the range of 80 inches , any help will be greatly appreciated .
Hey I-Drone.
It depends if your focus is on budget or quality. My assumption is you are looking for quality.
Since it has a dedicated space for it, A fixed frame sounds like the way to go for you.
So Silver ticket is the way to go.
Your next question is, which color?
Since you have blackout curtains ( Super good job by the way) . It means you are going to have a pretty dark room.
So, you should go for either the White or Gray options. those will work great.
THANK YOU VERY MUCH SIR!!!!
whats the best manual pull down screen for daylight use?
There is no definitive answer to this question because there are a variety of different types of screens that can be used for daylight projection and each has its own advantages and disadvantages. Some of the most popular types of screens for daylight projection include fixed frame screens, manual pull-down screens, electric screens, and inflatable screens. fixed frame screens are typically the most expensive option, but they offer the best image quality and are the most durable. Manual pull-down screens are less expensive and are easier to set up and take down, but they can be more difficult to use in windy conditions. Electric screens are the most expensive option, but they offer the easiest setup and take down and provide the best image quality.
This guy has a great voice
I am seriously considering buying HiSense PX1 pro , but need to know if the frame of Silver ticket STR-169120-G does cast a shadow or not. I now they recommend the more expense thinner fame S7 models. But, I rather stick with something cheap if this UST is ok with it.
Curious to know if you picked Silver ticket STR-169120-G or cheep equivalent rather than dedicated screen for UST projectors. These ALR / CLR screens are insanely expensive... Please share your findings.
Looking for fixed screen with easy installation as most of the ultrashort throw price is very high
Can I paint gray the white motorized Elite Screens screen? Would the paint crack when the screen rolls?
Ohhh that is quite an interesting idea you got there.
If you want to paint a screen, I'm pretty sure the all the qualities of that screen go away.
So maybe its better if you go for a cheaper screen instead.
But yes, I am pretty sure the paint will crack when the screen rolls.
I'm trying to find a rear projection screen that I can use for events, mainly corporate, so it will be getting set up and taken down on a regular basis. I also need it to have no "Stretching", so I can't consider any of the outdoor projectors, and I am looking for projection screens with a Trim.
I'm ideally looking for a 120" screen, but with the trim and everything else, I will only be projecting around 100" (maybe a little more).
Obviously since I'm doing rear projection with an ultra short throw I can't use a "Grey Screen" or a "Fixed frame screen" as I can't project through them.
*Edit
So I found what I was looking for, only issue is they are quite expensive. I found the YARD MASTER 2 by Elite Screens, they have a selection of sizes, and the screens are very good with no stretching, and little need of trim.
Hello if i want a 200 inches 2.4:1 proyection screen for a JVC NZ8 that can proyect 200 inches will it be capable to fill the screen or it will only fill it if its an 16:9 proyection screen?
The NX8 comes with lens memory so if the distance between screen and projector is big enough there should be no problem to fill a 2.40:1 screen.
i have the projector screen do you wa to try
What about clr screens? Aren't these the best for ultrashort or am I missing something?
For max sharpness, clarity, and contrast, one wants a black or gray screen for a room with relatively low ambient illumination. If a projector's image area exceeds the physical dimensions of a specific screen, then one will see fringing (e.g. "chromatic aberration," although fringing can also occur in a monochromatic fashion).
Hey SMuller,
If your projector is a ceiling projector, then clr screens will work great for you. (which you can find with elite screens)
Otherwise, ALR projectors are likely to be your better choice. (considering many other factors).
Why in the beginning do you say gray screens are best and then at the end say white is best?
A big one and a bunch of them
Could I not just paint my entire 11’ wide by 8’ high wall I’m going to project to in the proper shade of grey and get a good image?
This would give me a 150” 16X9 image and I don’t care about the black border.
I stay away from motorized Elite Projector Screen with tension control. I bought a brand new ones and there's so many ripples or creases and the tension control did not help at all. They sent me another new one and it's even worst than the first one. Never buy Elite Screens again.
Grey screens kinda give you deeper blacks
👍❤🔥
Do you think is a good idea a white screen gain 1.2 for dark room with white walls and ceiling? Or better grey screen?
I am using a grey screen and I am thinking to buy a 126" white for my Optoma HD36.
I have this issue that you show the cheap and not so good screens. If you have an UST projector, you will want an ALR fixed screen. Everything you show has poor picture quality.
the plastic hook is not good special the glue you can use it again the hook the glue don;t working no more. if buy this ferry lage screen on a website in belgium and it is just the same like you video it was ferry big but one u use the hook the can not use again when you put you screen for the wall
A hall of them

"For short throw and ultra short throw projectors it is better to go for a lower gain screen." - *sigh*
This video wasn't terrible, but it definitely has some questionable information and a lot of information about REALLY crappy screens.
Oh, and short throw/ultra short throw projectors need a very flat screen above all else. In a lit room, a ultra short throw projector should be paired with a ultra short throw ambient light rejecting screen. UST/ALR screens are expensive, but can really deal with ambient light far better than any other solution.
Oh, and a bright projector with terrible contrast is never the best way to go. Contrast is king, not brightness. A dark room, with dark walls, and dark ceiling, with a fairly dim, but good contrast projector will almost always be amazing. People chasing brightness over contrast are clueless.
Got no time fo games.
Projected . Put up . stop gaslighting me . I don't know my own language?
"More holes that you can use to stretch it out." 🫣😳🤫
