I have one of these in my garage. I used it to power my corded tools when I was a locksmith. I ran a key cutting machine at car boot sales or on site at a customers house. It also worked with my corded drills and on occasion an angle grinder… for £58 it was a great little generator but it has/had its limitations… I really need to get it fired up again it has dropped to the bottom of my ‘gizmo’ list but I have larger and better things to get me through the day.
Usually when the choke is open it has that effect and also when it’s placed ‘under load’ with something near its limits.. There is a basic spring governor attached to the choke and if that’s not attached or is stretched can also have an effect like it’s hunting

A very cool little 2 stroke generator, nice work with the fuel shut off
Love the way you make things work. I live too far away from a parts store and no 2 stroke thing’s anywhere close.
Nice save 😅 thank you for the video sir 👍😎🇺🇸
Good video mate.. they are good for getting you out of a jam.. not expensive but do the job..
Great for work lights or camp lights
Plus I like having a radio on during camping
Fixed 'er up. #MONEY
I bought one of those for $5 also needed fuel valve and carburetor cleaned. That grinder sounded like it hurt its feelings
I caught that but I was wondering why you didn’t remove and clean valve, there AllWAYS stopped up with junk 😊😂
Excellent work Tom!! I am in the market for a generator but don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for one. You have any recommendations? Battery or Gas.
I got mine at Lowe's, Craftsman 3500 for about 500 bucks
@@TomDobyMowerRepair thanks Tom appreciate it. Definitely need one.
Tommy I have a valve that will work
I worked on a little bigger one years ago and had to buy 2 valves
I still can’t get use to a two stroke having a float style carb.
Question, can I used regular gas or mixed with oil? Please let me know, thank you
if i remember right this was a 2 stroke which takes a mix fuel, think 40:1
@@TomDobyMowerRepair excellent thank you very much for the information. I appreciate it.
It’s a copy of a Harbor Freight one I had
These were sold by Northern Tool.
It was hunting badly?
