- 5 Locations For Cosmic Rewind Guardians Of The Galaxy at Disneyland California. Guardians Of The Galaxy Cosmic Rewind is getting rave reviews at EPCOT at the Walt Disney World resort. It's much cheeper to reproduce and attraction than it is to build something new from the ground up which is why I believe a version of Guardians Of The Galaxy Cosmic Rewind could be coming to Disneyland.
We saw it happen at the Magic Kingdom when Tron came to Tomorrowland and both Disneyland and Walt Disney World do share similar rides. With current spending down with current management recreating magic of Guardians Of The Galaxy Cosmic Rewind at Disneyland could be a guaranteed win for Disney Parks team that could use a win.
Using a similar ride vehicle as the Haunted Mansion Disneyland the Guardians Of The Galaxy Cosmic Rewind ride system delivers a new take on a classic Disneyland experience and since Space Mountain Disney Imagineering has been trying to develop a roller coaster than can also tell a story and finally with Guardians Of The Galaxy Cosmic Rewind that technology is here.
Wait until you ride Cosmic Rewind, Mark. My first reaction, after getting off the ride was, what just happened, OMG, incredible. I need to ride it again, now. Words simply can’t describe it. Disney got it right, finally.
Doesn’t suprise me everything good we have on the east coast, gets replicated over at Disneyland… to give the west coast even more of a reason to tell everyone how much better Disneyland resort is than Disney world. It’s true too cram everything into two parks…

Whoa, whoa, WHOA... What a breakdown!! This was top notch with the map animation, and really taking the extra mile to find all the ways to fit Guardians in Disneyland. Doing WDI's work for them!! -- I honestly would favor either utilizing the same tech for the AC E-Ticket, just retheming... or having it cross over Disneyland Dr. - But have it transport (exit) you into another land... A.K.A. Wakanda!

I like the the Batuu West idea. Also gives them a reason to rip out Star Tours. Lets keep Star Wars to one land only please! I can also see Disney using this ride system in the new Space Mountain in Tokyo.
I never understood why they still have star tours, and they have Star Wars land. I don’t understand the obsession with space frontier it all needs to be in one spot. I kind of felt like they should’ve just moved tomorrowland where they put Star Wars land and made tomorrowland into Star Wars land. That way they could’ve just used everything over there since it was spaced themed anyway.

I honestly don’t think they’re going to use the space behind the Avengers building for anything other than the Avengers ride. However I love expanding Avengers Campus into the other side of Hollywoodland!

Great Video a lot of detail and I like all of the ideas. That would be a great addition in any of those places, but in the park better than waiting for Disneyland forward. Love the idea that it could be the Avengers E ticket especially if it takes us to Wakanda.

Good possibilities! The Star Wars idea is fascinating one, never thought about that. But I do agree a coaster instead of a simulation type ride in AC would definitely be an upgrade. Whatever they decide, I hope they theme the big square block, wayyy better than what they did at WDW. Such an eyesore.
I think the first option is the best one. Avengers campus needs another big ride, especially since WEB slingers seems to be a bit hit or miss with many (I haven’t ridden it myself yet so I can’t judge). Plus an Avengers ride has been anticipated before Avengers Campus was even announced.
The other ideas are interesting, especially the one for Galaxy’s Edge, but there’s already 2 E-ticket attractions over there; not much demand at the moment.
Love your take on the possibilities. I LOVE Cosmic Rewind but am less enamored of the pre-show(s)....a truncated version of it(and hopefully with better acting...it's pretty cringy) would be preferred. You might not like the motion...but, for me, it's pure joy!

Who says the launch tunnel needs to be a separate element? What if the load/unload area was on the lower level, and the queue was above? Land is at such a premium in Anaheim, they really should layer rides (much like Mr. Toad/Alice in Wonderland).
Avatar Flight of Passage would be another great ride system to re-theme and bring over to Disneyland.
WE WANT THIS! Instread of freaking avatar in Disneyland. This would fit perfect and not ruin anything existing. They 100% should have done this for the opening of avengers campus it’s kinda crazy they didn’t
They had a quinjet ride planned that was super high budget. It was supposed to open a year after the land opened. But it got canceled because Disney didn’t wanna pay that much in addition to a lot of imagineers around this time leaving because Disney tried to force them to move to Florida.
It’s sad too because that quinjet ride looked amazing. You’d start off in a motion simulator like star tours. Then your seats “eject out”, this was done by having the seats lifted out of the motion base. Lastly you’d be able to “fly” your jetpack seat, this was done by each seat having a joystick and being attached to a robot arm. It was very ambitious but very very awesome.
This new multiverse ride is replacing that. Sad thing is it basically will be using the same ride system as the new Peter Pan ride at Tokoyo Disney. Basically if Indy’s motion base and the trackless part of rise of the resistance had a baby. I don’t have high hopes for this new ride, and of course that even depends on if Disney ever bothers to actually start construction on it before 2080 😂
Disneyland does not take suggestions. I wrote a letter to park executives and suggested that they should have Jack Skellington Christmas wrapping paper that you see in the Hunted Mansion attraction during Halloween and Christmas time. They could sell this theme of wrapping paper for people to wrap their Christmas gifts. By suggesting this idea, it could be sold it in their stores at the parks and their mall stores. They sent me back a letter that said, “they can’t do it because I suggested it.” I still have that letter they sent too me today. If a Disney land executive would’ve thought of this idea, we would have Jack Skellington Christmas wrapping paper today.

Yes, yes and yes....All good ideas. I think California Adventure needs more working rides...sorry the down times got to me on the last visit. I think a boring tunnel addition for a ride launch and return to one of the smaller lots would also work. The technology to bore out from the central hub for a third gate and over to the parking decks buys back valuable land and expanse possibilities. I dream of a day when Disney themed beach front hotels use a boring loop to the parks....but that is an other video. We can do better!

My Passholder Preview for Cosmic Rewind was so crazy that I literally had the time of my life. If this is any way a step towards an Avengers Campus on the East Coast (if the YOU KNOW WHAT ever goes way) then I'll basically take it.
Now I don't know having Cosmic Rewind on the West Coast cause honestly one Guardians attraction is really enough and placing it behind Avengers HQ probably won't work. Plus, I really have high hopes for the Quinjet ride finally making it past the development stage. Now I believe the coaster technology could make it's way to Disneyland although I think they'll probably use a different IP but it's still not a bad idea.

I hope someone who can make these decisions watches this video. Great breakdown of possible choices. I vote for putting it behind the existing Avengers campus. It makes sense and would be the least disruptive to the rest of the park proper, in my opinion. Although, I’m not opposed to it going into Galaxy’s Edge. I am all for anything STAR WARS.
It would be interesting to see the ride system used to tell a Star Wars story! You could take the micro-hyperjumps we saw at the beginning of Rise of Skywalker and use it to similar effect! Maybe we're in a convoy of some sort trying to get to that final battle over Exegol...(Unless we want to use this to completely break the timeline).

That launch when going into hyperspace would be incredible! That's one thing with "hyperspace mountain" I always find weird.
I can see this idea coming for Disneyland Forward! The Current E ticket 🎟 is way ahead in imagineering that it will get announce at D23 expo 2022!

One wonders if the new Space Mountain will be a Cosmic Rewind "copy".
I wish they bring poo's honey hunt from Tokyo Disneyland at DCA near Grizzly River Rapids, bring Slingy Dog Dash in Pixar Pier, Cosmic Rewind at adventure campus, and an Advendures Spectacular Stunt show at the Hyperion. The show can be similar to what they have at Universal Studios Florida Bourne Stunt Spectacular show. Those additions will bring DCA almost on the level of Disneyland Park.
I came back to rewatch this video today after hearing the updated announcement at Destination D23 about the Avengers Campus attraction. I can totally see this being in DCA now 😁
If anything what they will do is have a temporary overlay of mission break out and make the collectors fortress a nova tower
Very good ideas about bringing this attraction to the west coast! However, I dont think it will ever happen. With the reports of motion sickness from Cosmic Rewind Disney will have to see if its going to go the distance on re-ride-ability (lol, is that even a word). A lot.of reports that there are open spots in the virtual queue hours after the queue opens. Not a good sign! I guess time will tell!
What about theming based on Thor with possible Guardians connection or basing it on replacing or retrieving the infinity stones? I LOVE LOVE LOVE putting in an Avengers themed show at the Hyperion.
Low key DCA desperately needs another major roller coaster. A coaster would age better long-term than a simulator in the style of FoP or Transformers. I heard rumors years ago that Disney wants to build an Avengers coaster in Hollywood backlot at DCA, but it hinges on the Eastern gateway project.
6:41 I like the concept of a black box attraction that can be updated over time, but Disney has a poor track record of actually doing said updates - Midway Mania has NEVER been updated in 17 years, no seasonal overlays, no new games. They won’t update Smuggler’s Run. Star Tours is the only ride that gets updated.
8:31 Instead of Cosmic Rewind or (ughh) Tron, I’d rather see a Star Wars speeder bike roller coaster. We’d get a Tron-style bike coaster, but themed to Star Wars. I really don’t want Tron at Disneyland, I want something unique to Disneyland.
Please do a video about possible locations to bring Mystic Manor to DCA.
For the Tropical Americas land in Animal Kingdom a Mystic Manor style ride would be perfect for Encanto

First of all I want to apologize for my knee jerk reaction in one of my comments. I truly realized my response sounded ignorant and off putting. I’m sorry about that. I realize now that I should be watching the video first before commenting.
After seeing the video, you do make some logical points. It might actually work at the Disneyland resort! I would say the avengers concept/the Galaxy’s edge concept works better! Although I’m sort of concerned about getting sick from all the spinning on the attraction (but maybe it’s not that bad?). However, for an idea…it’s cool! I just hope Disneyland does create original IP’s in 10 years. I’m not too sure Disney can keep remake the same story over and over again (once the marvel/Star Wars trend fizzles). I mean yes it is a hot product…and you are right they should do it now…
But at the same time…haunted mansion, pirates of the caribbean, tiki room, the former country bear playhouse, the former mine train thru nature’s wonderland, and the former adventures thru inner space…they made that park shine. They balanced out between the movie attractions in fantasyland back in the day. If you did remove all of the original attractions…it would be sort of a movie theme park like universal studios (I hate to say that I’m sorry Brickey).
Do I think movie attraction IP’s still work? Yes. There are some good ones. But the Disney parks haven’t created a good original IP attraction for the domestic parks since the 80’s (when Epcot center opened). I hope the creatives within the company go back to that formula in the future.🤞

@@derekmiles2543 Everest was an original IP. But it’s more thrill ride than original dark ride with a story. I guess that’s where I was going. But you’re right, Everest was the last in the US parks. The overseas parks have an abundance of original IP’s. I’m sort of jealous.

We need another coaster at avengers campus so I hope they do end up bringing something like the guardians of the galaxy coaster
It's okay when Disney does screen.
I like the option of the West Coast version of guardians of the Galaxy cosmic rewind being placed in in the Hollywood Studios area and possibly having the Hyperion theater bring a avengers show and also saving the avengers building in avengers campus for a second new ride that way Avengers campus will have two rides coming to the Disneyland resort giving huge opportunity for crowds to enjoy avengers campus and also hopefully funding future projects and other areas of the park that may need upgrades and new attractions
But then you would be double dipping when you already have mission breakout right around the corner. So I’m not sure a guardians attraction working at DCA. However, I could see them putting the attraction inside Tomorrowland.
If they’re gonna do anything with tomorrowland they need to cut tomorrowland completely get rid of star tours and if anything move that to galaxies edge and get rid of Astro blasters move that to Pixar pier somewhere and the only remaining Ryan that will stay in tomorrow land will be space mountain and everything ripped out completely but putting cosmic rewind there would make no sense since it’s marvel and you got all marvel attractions in DCA

I did watch the video and yes it does make sense. But also…I sort of want a unique attraction that uses technology that is exclusive to Disneyland. Like how Tokyo DisneySEA has aquatopia (they do use the same system at DCA but this attraction is made for a body of water). The idea is cool and I really liked the video (I just finished watching it). But I don’t know…maybe I am reserving judgment until I see it in person? Again I apologize for my previous comment, Brickey. That was bad on my part and I realize how my comment came off the wrong way.

I really want it to be at disneland so when i go next i get to finally experience guardians of the galaxy: cosmic rewind with everybody wants to rule the world!! bc i didnt get in the one time i was ever able to go to disneyworld!
Since space mountain and cosmic rewind are basically the same thing why don't they redo space mountain but instead of a GOTG theme a Starwars theme
Great vid. This type of vid is everything I want. However, I must contradict the point of Marvel having "continued box office success". They haven't had a year of success in the last 4 years. Spiderman did well, but it's a Sony movie. The Marvels bombed. Antman 3 bombed. Eternals bombed. Shang chi bombed. Black Widow bombed. Covid was rampant for a lot of it, but even looking at the number of people who watched these in the convenience of their home is low. The majority consensus is that they are crashing.
No more Carbon Copy Rides PLEASE!! Every park should be unique
I know there’s rumours about them retheming Space Mountain to Buzz Lightyear and I can’t help but wonder whether there’s any way they could put spinning cars on that track with Buzz Lightyear projections or something?!
