@@georgekoshti_richman1392These are not tangled toilets at Disneyland Paris, it’s just a part of Adventure Way, with an art nouveau theme (like the Regal View restaurant, the food pavilion, etc.) ;) These toilets are included in the same building permit as the Tangled ride, that’s all
Tokyo has had a dedicated WDI team for decades. We shouldn’t look at their successes and assume we would ever get them in America. The Oriental Land Company has actually passed over some of the more recent proposals from American WDI because they didn’t meet OLC’s expectations.
It’s a shame people were clamoring for ‘more Disney’ because Disneysea ‘wasn’t Disney enough.’ Yeah…I’d rather have Disneysea as it was than the newer Disney IP attractions being put in everywhere. I miss the Big Thumders, the Haunted Mansions, the Spaceship Earths, the Expedition Everests. Not everything NEEDS (or should) be IP based. Really boxes in the creativity of IMAGINEERS.
Thinking that Disney movies make a park more "Disney" is a complete misunderstanding of their theme parks. It's a shame that even the company doesn't realize this anymore.
I get what you’re saying and I think TDS was sort of like Epcot, the theming and quality of Disney attractions without the IP, but my understanding of the Japanese audience is that they are actually very character driven. They love character meet and greets, not to mention merch and food that are all themed to characters. It kind of goes to what was said in the video about culture and meeting the needs of the park going public of that country. They obviously liked the park and the quality, but they ultimately want that Disney IP connection.
@@fredlopez5213 😠They WILL realize this once Nelson Peltz and I have changed Disney for the better. Instead of just focusing on their IPs, they should focus more on their own creativity.
I absolutely do not want the parks to be copy/pasted. I wholeheartedly agree with you that the parks should have their own identities and unique experiences exclusive to that park. There is an argument to be made about the price of travel and Disney tickets, and that a lot of people may never be able to see and experience all the different resorts. So making the parks more homogenized is the only way for more people to experience the different areas. But, to my thinking, it’s a question of quality. Fantasy Springs is phenomenally well themed and beautiful and we’re jealous of it because that level of theming and experience is not something we really see all that much in the state side Disney parks. Star Wars and Pandora seem to be the closest we have right now, but I think instead of copy/pasting attractions, the parks should focus more on bringing that kind of quality to all the parks and attractions. It would be a slow and expensive prospect but refurbs should be used to bring the quality of the older attractions to a level closer to this, and new expansions should be at this kind of level.
Agreed. I also believe that the US Disney parks should focus more on bringing that kind of high-quality to all the parks and attractions. It's about time that they do.
I agree with this. The temptation stems from the fact we're not getting anything. And that Disneyland and Magic Kingdom has slowly been homogenizing their rides, losing their coastal identities sadly
I we went recently to Orlando and I was disappointed that everything seems to be going to projections. Projections on screens, projections on buildings, or projections on mist. Creativity is largely gone.
Japanese companies are always thinking of the long term benefits rather then the short term benefits. You don’t see Hondas breaking down after 2 years they last 20-30 years .They make sure that their products are top notch and that includes theming and details.
anyone who ever work with japanese company know they are very archaic and slow about everything. not to mention hiding a lot of shit under the rug. just look at toyota and daihatsu scandal lately. olympus scandal, they manipulate safety data and even manipulate accounting report just to keep them afloat. japan is declining and pretty much going straight to the ground now. people are blinded by japanese success in the 80-90's, japanese are very good at using soft power and propaganda to hide their smelly shit.
Cultural differences. In Japan, it’s perfectly ok to make a profit after providing quality and service. In the US, that’s not good enough. Your profit margin must always be rising. If profits are stagnant, then you aren’t doing a good enough job. OLC could increase its profits by charging a little bit more, offering a little bit less, paying staff less, and so on, but they don’t.
Agreed. I mean when you get down to it, Epic Universe is basically Universal's answer to Tokyo Disneysea in all the best ways possible so in a way we're already technically going to get a Fantasy Springs experience in the USA. It's just not coming from either Disneyland or DisneyWorld ironically.
I disagree. EU looks great, but it seems to be going for a completely different vibe from Disneysea. When I went to TDS, it had a very adult and mature feel to it that was unlike any other theme park. EU looks to be an updated version of the Islands of Adventure playbook, except a bit more kid oriented. In my opinion, Animal Kingdom is the closest we’ve got to a park like Disneysea in the US due to its more mature vibe and and strong thematic elements.
@@kaijuguy19 Having lived in Orlando for quite some time Universal saw themselves as a 2nd place park experience, that kind of changed with IoA, they realized they could stand on their own two feet and be more of an "adult" experience. .
The fact that Fantasy Springs is roughly the same exact size as Galaxy’s Edge, yet has twice the rides is depressingly pathetic. Granted, they are still really big rides, but so are the ones at Fantasy Springs!
Both Galaxy’s Edge and Fantasy Springs are overbuilt and take up too large a footprint. The Fantasy Springs Hotel is also on track to become just as massive a mistake as the Galactic Starcruiser.
It's amazing how Fantasy Springs despite having IPs in Disneysea that's traditionally not too IP heavy still feels something otherworldly and not Disney in the best sense. Like you're really in a world of fantasy and not something that's obviously corporate based. If I do get to visit Tokyo Disneyland and Disneysea in my lifetime Fantasy Springs will without a doubt among my first stops. As for us getting Fantasy Springs in the states we're technically already getting that along with DisneySea as a whole it's just not from both DisneyLand and DisneyWorld but rather in the form of Epic Universe from Universal Orlando Resorts which is more and more looking to be DisneySea's true equal in terms of immersion, theming, and technological advancements. The fact that like the OLC over in Japan the Universal Engineers are sparing no expense to really push the envelope to that level. I know people will bring up both Pandora and Galaxy's Edge being Fantasy Springs equals but even then Epic Universe is doing a lot more to take the steps needed to be at DisneySea's level in general not just Fantasy Springs.
Im questionable abt epic universe reaching DisneySea levels because of Celestial Park. It looks nice but overall uninspired and lacking theming. I don't think it's on the level of disneysea. It's a big problem for epic universe especially because you have to go through it everytime you leave a land. It wouldn't matter as much if it was just an entrance area. But maybe im wrong idk 🤷♀️
Pandora and Galaxy’s Edge were Disney’s attempt to compete with the Wizarding World of Harry Potter. Though neither one will ever be as popular or well designed as the land they were inspired by. Fantasy Springs is what New Fantasyland in Magic Kingdom should have been, while utilizing the bioluminescence technology from Pandora.
I agree if anything from Fantasy Spring were to come over to the US, it would be the Tangled Ride. Though I would think they would expand on it/change it enough that it would be considered its own thing. In my opinion if Anaheim gets a Frozen Land, 99% chance it will be a copy of Hong Kong's Frozen Ever After. I don't think a lot of people realize how much money the things in Tokyo cost and the reason why they get all of the good things is because Disney isn't footing the bill, so thanks for pointing that out!
To be fair, Hong Kong and Paris’ Arendelle is better designed than Tokyo’s. However, there is no way Disneyland is wasting that amount of space on “Frozen”, now that Jennifer Lee was demoted. After all, “Frozen” was always more popular overseas than in America. Disney is more likely to build a ride themed to “The Lion King” at Animal Kingdom, and a unique “Beauty and the Beast” ride at Disneyland, than replicate “Frozen Ever After” again. The domestic box-office gross of both “The Lion King” and “Beauty and the Beast” remakes proved those two animated films were the most popular with American audiences. Even “Aladdin” and “The Little Mermaid” did not perform as well domestically.
While I don't like the idea of copy and pasting attractions so that each resort has it's own character and identity, it's just sad that the states doesn't receive THIS LEVEL of theming to projects. There are uniquely designed and created elements EVERYWHERE creating total immersion. Pandora in WDW does achieve this standard for sure and the Treehouse in Disneyland does as well. I have a good feeling about Tiana's Bayou Adventure as well. But there are so many shuttered areas in WDW that I wish they'd do a LITTLE of this immersion in those areas ( I'm looking at you, Animation Courtyard) Imagine a Monstropolis in that area!
A while ago the Hollywood backlot at dca was going to be used as an expansion pad for avengers campus. With wakanda being showed as an expansion for avengers campus I wonder if they are still going to use that other expansion pad for avengers campus or if they are going to use it for something entirely different. Most likely it’ll be zootopia or something
Having exclusivity rights for rides and lands is great for travel and discover different versions of the same ride. It's also great for business to drive more overseas/regional tourists to come to the theme parks. I have been to all Disney resorts (except Shanghai), and some if not all are unique from each other. One thing I would've love to see is one of the Galaxy's Edges be different from one another, with an emphasis on a different terrain and different ride experiences. If an Avatar experience in Anaheim is going to focus on the sequel to stand apart from Pandora in Orlando, then it's a win-win for unique experiences.
Totally agree with you about the two Galaxys edge lands needing variation in theme. Star Wars is such a wide open IP when it comes to theming. A Star Wars land could literally be in any 'biome'. The theming makes sense for Disneyland because it's neighbors with Frontierland, so it has a similar American southwest/forest environment. However Galaxy's Edge in Orlando really could've been themed to a slightly different locale/biome. Same attractions and layout, but just different trees/rockwork/decor etc. Like a more jungly, Adventureland-esque Star Wars land would be incredible. Or something akin to Endor. I've even thought, not necessarily that I want this to happen, but if OLC ever wanted to put a Star wars land in Disneysea, they could turn it into some kind of water planet version of Galaxys Edge, like a Navoo kind of planet. There's so much opportunity for Star Wars in Disney parks. It's a shame they would just copy and paste :/
Looks to be that way which is both amazing for people who want that level of immersion and wonder in general from theme parks and ironic because it shows how far behind Disney really is to Universal in the states theme park wise
@@kaijuguy19 I cant believe it. They are just willingly gaving up a market share that, not only did they invent, but one they have DOMINATED for the past 60+ years. Sure they still mostly dominate in Asia, but that's mostly thanks to the OLC. And Lord knows Universal is coming for the Asian and European Market. Atleast they've got Disneyland forward in Cali. In Florida they are increasingly screwed.
@@mr.pencilsharpener8004 I dunno… I’ve been to DisneySea many times before and this is definitely reminding me of it. Some things it might even do better…
Being not owned by Disney the best possible outcome when it comes to Star Wars would be the Tokyo owners walking around the US Theme Parks and saying “we want this, but change it to be based on the good movies instead of the new ones you made.”
It's true that no Tokyo attractions have come stateside but the general concept of Disney Springs (next-gen Fantasyland attractions and environments) could and should make it to the US, but with different IP's.
Pieces, yes. Some form of Frozen will come to California. The Tangled attraction would fit in California (back of Fantasyland would be ideal) and Florida (Germany pavilion in EPCOT would be ideal). Peter Pan won’t come but the ride system will be used for other IPs.
There will never be any Frozen attraction in California or a Tangled attraction. I have bet money on neither happening. And when I take over Disney and make it great again, Disneyland will be perpetually frozen in the 1960s and run on the mantra of "What would Walt do?" I will bring back old attractions like they never left and if anything new were to be built, it won't have an IP attachment.
fantasy springs looks amazing to me, I love the frozen, rapunzel and peter pan rides, and tink is cute too. I agree with you guys in that I'd rather have the parks have their own unique rides (the lion king ride rumor for DLP is very exciting to me), but at the same time I'd rather have this rapunzel ride than the bathrooms in MK or the upcoming teacup ride for paris... tokyo proves that rides don't always have to be an e-ticket or super long to be impressive
Parks should be unique. We have been to WDW, Disneyland, Disney Paris and Disney Tokyo. But last year spent Christmas week in Universal Studios in Osaka and I definitely had more fun than at Disney parks. It was my first time ever at a Universal Studios.
I’d personally wouldn’t mind Disneyland having their own version of Fantasy Springs. Use three different IPs, let’s say Cinderella, Beauty and The Beast and The Lion King which all lack attractions in the CA resort) as an example, and develop three mini lands ala Tokyo Disney Sea’s Fantasy Springs. Each IP with their original rides using the technology developed for TDS but theming it to something new rather than just copying and pasting Frozen, Tangled and Peter Pan’s rides. Now do I think Disney would actually do this? Probably not, specially with current leadership! But one can only hope
Disney WILL actually do this! Iger's days as Disney's CEO are numbered. Nelson Peltz will be taking his place hopefully next year. Once that happens, Disneyland will be having their own version of Fantasy Springs next year.
@@annien.1727 if you really think that Nelson Peltz will get a spot in the board and be the solution to Disney’s current state then idk what to tell you 💀 y i k e s
I feel like we could just be getting a cheaper (probably more corpo) version of FS. And while I dont think it will be the IP's u suggested i could see them going for newer IP's (as a beauty and the beast "land" already exists in Tokyo as well) With more modern IP's probably getting a hold over older stuff. (especially for california) Think things like Moana, Encanto, or tangeled. (if they go with the three minature lands idea like fantasy) i would say the list is probably Frozen, Encanto/Moana/tangeled, and Lion King/Aladdin/Cinderella. (as the older IP) (or any other hits that come out from now to then) With their recen budget increase into the parks I do hold a little bit of hope that the lands wont be as poorly themed as avengers but I believe ur right to lower expectations compared to Fantasy Springs and the magic that it brings.. Although from the looks of it we'll be getting Pandora (way of water) first before anything which requires the east lot to be expanded so I guess our version of Pandora will sorta show us the level of detail they are willing to put into california. (although i agree Im really hoping the lands are as well themed as things like nintendo land, epic universe, disneysea, galaxies, harry potter, etc)
Not every IP needs representation and some don't deserve representation in the parks. When I take over, that's what will happen. I will be either bringing back old things like they never left, or the only new things that get built will be original non-IP ideas.
@@moovudu4822 I agree that it’ll probably be three of the newer IPs being used, and I do think that Encanto and Moana are more likely, to be frank. I went with the IPs I mentioned because I thought they followed what Tokyo’s FS chose. Peter Pan/Cinderella: a classic feature from WDAS that Walt personally worked on. Tangled/BaTB: A classic fairytale were the two leads fall in love. Frozen/TLK: huge box office successes that marked the company for well over a decade. But your selection of possible IPs if they decided to use unique ones rather than just copying/pasting can work well. And yessss, I know I shouldn’t be but I am hella excited for CA’s own Pandora: The World of Avatar! Specially if it’s a unique land that centers itself on the environments of The Way of Water. And yes, depending on how much they invest in this new land we will have an idea on what’s to come for the rest of Disneyland Forward.
Bottom line is Disney doesn’t want to pay for better park experiences/a new park in the US. That was the best point of the video. The “would you rather” options presented in the video are A. Be a Disney company apologist like the author of this video and change nothing, or B. Copy and paste fantasy springs (or other Disney Tokyo attractions) into current existing US Disney parks, which now that we’ve all watched this video have been informed is impossible. I guess that’s what set Walt apart isn’t it, unlike everyone else he dreamed bigger and thought outside the box.
Because Tokyo Disney is the only resort NOT owned by Disney. OLC has an infinite budget while Disney has/has had bad budget-cutting tendencies with all the corporate related BS.
@@maxickingdomOLC for sure is not richer than Disney. The problem is priority. OLC invest the money they earned from the parks back into the parks. Disney uses the money they earned from the parks to buy companies like Fox to hope and pray Disney+ wins the streaming war against Netflix.
@@isaacng123456789 Oh for sure! Disney is involved in so many corporate things outside the parks- like Hulu and public trading, when they really could not only be investing in better attractions, but also be paying their workers much fairer wages.
@@isaacng123456789 But yes, despite OLC not even close to having nearly as much money as Disney, they deliver because they put the quality of their parks first!
Fantasy springs looks perfect... but almost so much so that if the rides have a low throughput compared to demand, there will be nowhere to expand next.
Tokyo DisneySea was my first Disney experience. Totally worth the $50 ticket. Didn't even have to wait in lines! Somehow I doubt I will get the same value in the US lol
The best compromise would be of these international parks gave full english audio. Vincent Price for Phantom Manor, Idina Menzel for Frozen Journey, and Joe Rodhe for Tower of Terror
Fantasy springs is literally my dream land! It has some of the best Disney movies all combined in to one land and they did it perfectly! I wish we could get some of this in America
In the early 90s Disney looked at Ling Beach, CA for a Disney Sea-esque Park. But Disney said the open land was too far from Anaheim. Those plans went to Tokyo
The thing that Disney needs to do is have the ride systems that have been developed to be implemented across the parks BUT have an IP or story that fits with the ride system. Anyone from the American parks that are bitching about how other parks have the “nice stuff” I have examples of our exclusive ride systems. 1. Flight of Passage - no other ride has had that ride system and that ride was developed in 2011-2013 and opened in 2016. Yes, you could argue that it’s a Soarin’ 2.0 ride system but we haven’t seen a leaked proposal for a “clone” of it. An IP that could be amazing for it would be an Avengers E-ticket since you’re in a “motorcycle” stance and could be a Stark or Shield-style vehicle. 2. Smugglers Run - yes it can be called a new-age Star Tours but no other park has a ride with the turntable ride system. There is of course a reason why this system hasn’t been implemented in another park, that is our “unique” system. 3. Guardians Cosmic Rewind - until we see what Tokyo’s new Space Mountain is, this could be exclusive to America. There will always be cynics from within the American parks who wonder why the international parks get special treatment, especially over the last decade. But, always remember that we are in a unique situation where we have six Disney Parks in our country. The parks will eventually see these ride systems. It is unfortunate that they are not done at the same caliber as the international parks.
The “Flight of Passage” ride system seems to be an exclusive deal between Disney and James Cameron. They are never going to replicate it. I would imagine Disney gave James Cameron the exclusive rights to the Shanghai Pirates ride system too. Since, Paris’ exclusive “The Lion King” boat ride will use a completely different system. If Disney were to ever implement another “motorcycle” style ride, whether for Marvel or “Star Wars”, it would be a reskin of the Tron Lightcycle. “Tron” is not a popular IP, and Magic Kingdom’s version is underperforming due to it.
it's sad that Tokyo Disneyland can put all this investment and experience into their park while keeping prices reasonable. Meanwhile Disney makes less interesting additions while charging insane amounts to enter the park.
good to know how much fantasy springs costs. people are going crazy and imagine the most lavish things for disneyland forward, which will have a price tag of 1.8 billion (?)... for the whole project! not just the park expansion. for comparison, each galaxy edge costs around 1 billion. I'm not a big fan of book-report dark rides, I would rather prefer original idaes, just like mystic manor, but I understand the desire of more IP in the parks. but the could have used it more creatively. why not create a new story with the characters of frozen?
For your price tag i do want to correct it in a small way. The baseline tag is 1.9 billion dollars for the whole thing your correct. but many reports state thats the lowball amount that disney will be spending. I believe they will be spending a little bit more on the individual lands inside the expansion as the budget only covered 10 years of whats supposed to be a 30 year project. with many of the quotes saying "at least 1.9 billion." which gives me hope that Disney will spend a little more on the project. Nothing as grand as FS but a smaller exclusive version of it I could definitely see coming to the parks. (and hey it might be a good thing with a smaller budget. we might not get the grand rides but maybe its just me holding out hope for nothing but it means they get to do true disney imagineering again getting around the budget that they have.)
The other issue fantasy springs solves (having just done DisneySea with a 5yo) is balancing the mix of family and thrill rides across the park. Just got to figure out when we can go again!
I feel like California (with Disney Forward.) should get something like fantasy springs, although I agree that it shouldn't be Fantasy Springs itself. The idea of smaller lands being in a bigger overreaching land, that I believe things like forward and the possible 5th - 6th gates in orlando will get. (im mostly focusing on cali though since its my home park) As someone who just went to tokyo disney right before these lands opened. I can safely say that we probably wont be getting things like Beauty and the Beast, Tangled, or Peter pan in our park. But i do believe that we will be getting a princess expansion of some kind/original disney production projects. Especially with Pandora coming to Disneyland/califorrnia adventure as the way of water iteration. Something i noticed about both disney fantasy springs as well as beauty and the beast is that they were complete retellings of the movies. and while disneyland does have retellings through peterpan, snowhite, etc I dont think thats the way disneyland functions (especially with Tiana's bayou adventure coming out soon.) I believe that Californias will choose projects that can have stories past the original movies. With the only 2 IP's we are pretty sure sure are coming being Pandora (way of water) and Frozen (as its becoming a staple at all the parks.) Although similar to Fantasy springs I want to believe that they will be adding two more miniatures in (Besides Frozen) but its my belief the other two will be Moana/Encanto (as the more modern project similar to tangled. Due to the sheer popularity of Moana/Encanto especially here in the states.(theres also a bit of bias on my part for Moana, and my brain fantasizing about it because of the way of water expansion.)) and one of the older IP's like Lion King or Aladdin. (my personal preference would be lion king as a lot of the retellings of aladdin in the other parks aren't the greatest although with how common it is in other parks it might be more likely.) Although this expansion i doubt will get the budget of Fantasy springs I could very easily see disney doing minatures lands in an overarching land. Especially with how condensed Disney Forward seems to be, with the limit of 14 rides in the papers themselves and 5 of which being thrill (something that the parks been lacking) it makes practical sense to me to make minature areas for different IP's from Disneys personal library while still allowing them to be immersive in an overarching theme. In summary. I dont think we will be getting a Disney Fantasy Springs in the U.S parks but I can easily see us getting something similar with different IP's and a different overarching theme that still has the appeal of Fantasy springs, either being more original IP based or just more thrill themed based
@dayoldbread1696 ye I don't count that as Disney forward. Next d23 I think we'll probably get news on it. Considering Tiana should be open by then. For parks d23 this year or next will be crazy insane
@@moovudu4822 same I’m just hoping after Tiana’s is done that they will start on the avengers e ticket finally. Because I worry that after Tiana’s is done that they will immediately start on the avatar stuff instead
@@dayoldbread1696 - That “Avengers” ride is a reskin of the “Peter Pan” ride at Fantasy Springs. Not sure I would classify that ride system as an E-ticket. Especially, with how the new “Avatar” ride is going to be built.
@ trust me i already have low expectations after Disney cancelled the original high budget jetpack seat avengers e ticket ride (announced in 2019). So i already knew whatever they were replacing it with was not going to be nearly as good. I also hope the ride is decent and especially not screen heavy. But after seeing stuff like Tiana’s and the other avengers rides, i have a feeling our ride will either turn out “meh” or just “ok”. It’ll also probably take Disney like 6 years to finish building it
Even in the event some of these were to come to the state-side parks, the best versions are always going to be in Japan, because they actually care if their rides are fully functioning.
I am 100% in the camp that each park should be for the most part unique in offerings. I can understand a couple of the "greatest hits" rides/lands but the unique nature of the parks is the draw to go visit. I realize not everyone can do that but I think overall it's better for the health of the parks and the industry in general. I do think going forward in the US parks with new projects we are going to see a step up in quality. I think we are already seeing that in Tiana's Bayou Adventure. I think it's safe to say that after Chapek left, that the budget to plus up that ride happened. It might not be the perfect version but it will be better. I am very excited to see what will happen with Disneyland Forward, and I do think we are all going to be surprised with how good it is. Disney is not going to let it's overseas parks outshine the home parks, and as it stands that is how it is right now.
@@octoberboiy - It opened after the pandemic. Shanghai Disneyland had the exclusive rights to the ride for five years, due to it being their equivalent to Space Mountain. We lost Typhoon Lagoon and I never had the opportunity to go. The last theme park we had that was even close was Legend City and we went there at least once every 3 months.
Peter Pan could come to WDW. There's space at MK and Peter Pan's existing low-capacity ride is ride for ripe for a next-generation version. Plus it would be a new-for-the-US ride system for Disney Parks. While the Tangled ride is nice, I think they'd rather clone the Paris flat ride instead, if that happens at all.
The “Peter Pan” ride system is what is being used for Avengers Infinity Defense. The ride system, apart from the screens, is actually pretty old. It is a combination between a motion simulator and a trackless dark ride.
I think there could be some retheming and reimagining at Disney Land. The Tomorrow Land area needs an overhaul. I think it could be cool to see the matterhorn be transformed into a Frozen ride and would tie in nicely with fantasy land.
Americans: “duhhhh stop putting IP in our parks Disney. That hurt my feelings and my theme park bias”. Japan: “We want more Disney IP in Tokyo DisneySea! We love these characters!” As an American, I’m embarrassed.
Despite being the original and only park that Walt Disney was able to experience, the Disneyland resort often seems like the poor step-child getting hand-me-downs. One of the few exceptions being Carsland. I would like to see some really amazing versions of attractions go in here. An even better Frozen ride. Unique new things exclusive to Disneyland that are state of the art and mind blowing. That is what I’d like. Tired of the inferior versions.
Same here it really seems like after 2011 wdw became Disney corporate’s favorite park. They keep getting amazing things almost every time, meanwhile here at the California parks all we have gotten in the recent years is cheap lame awful re themes like Pixar pier and San fransokoyo. And awful lands/ride like avengers campus and web slingers. Even galaxy’s edge is 80% gift shops, although the wdw one even got that fancy hotel while we didn’t. Also we haven’t even gotten out e ticket for avengers campus that Disney has been promising us. It’s been 4+ years and they still haven’t started construction on it yet wdw got an avengers e ticket with cosmic rewind (while all we have is the awful web slingers.). Even last years d23 95% of the announcements were huge things for wdw while all they announced for Disneyland was showing us a picture of the ride vehicle for the avengers multiverse ride. Hopefully things change and that d23 has at least a few decent announcements for us at Disneyland but I doubt it. As usual wdw will get all the good stuff and all we will get here at Disneyland is clones of rides/lands already at other parks and cheap re themes.
@@dayoldbread1696 I actually like Web Slingers and I didn’t think I would. It’s one of my go to rides there now and love closing the end of the night there when the line is short. @@kotch35 Winnie the Pooh for one. And obviously newer versions of classics have been built around the world which make Disneyland seem more dated in comparison. That is however perhaps some of its charm. Still…when you look at the dark rides being built elsewhere like Beauty and the Beast, Pooh in Japan, the new Frozen ride, Pirates in Shanghai, and Mystic Manor….Disneyland just pales in comparison outside of Mickey’s Runway Railway, Rise of the Resistance, and Radiator Springs Racers. The last one of which is the only unique one exclusive to Disneyland (and even that might not hold for long). I’m hoping Disneyland Forward changes that. It would be nice to get something that isn’t a clone of somewhere else, or worse an inferior version and actually have something unique and state of the art. I’d like to see that vanishing projection thing they do on multiple rides in Asia come to a Disneyland ride a la The Beast, or the pirate/skeleton effect, or now the Frozen brought to life effect of Elsa. Why can’t Disneyland have that effect somewhere? It looks fantastic and such an effect is missing from the entire resort.
@@gregg5958 - Mystic Manor is the Haunted Mansion, no no wants a replica of the Shanghai Pirates ride. As for those “effects”, it is just the Pepper’s Ghost, which was invented for Disneyland.
The thing about the Peter Pan attraction; Tokyo Disneyland also has Peter Pan's flight right next door! So, the precedent has been set for two parks right next to each other to have Peter Pan attractions.
I'd love it if Disney made a Fantasy Springs at Disneyland but with entirely new properties. Like, keep the woodland theming and put Brave, Tarzan, and Robin Hood in there instead. Or maybe Bambi. IDK. Give it a more autumn feel instead of spring, but build on what makes Fantasy Springs work, just with new IP.
But we all know IF they actually build it here, they'll raise ticket prices again as usual, charge $60 for parking, and all the rides will be running on b-mode after a week. And that's if the attractions is not down.
I absolutely love that Tokyo Disney doesn't theme itself as much. I love areas that facilitate Disney rides, but aren't entire lands dedicated to just one movie. Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Frontierland do this particularly well.
Disneyland Forward is just a rezoning plan with Anaheim, that allows Disneyland to expand over the next 30 years. Disney is actually not allowed to use the parking lots, until the existing footprint of the parks is filled out.
Tokyo Disney visitors treat the park like a museum rather than a theme park. This level of detail wouldn't work as well elsewhere, at least not presented in the same way it is in Tokyo. I could see the OLC allowing a select few specific rides from the new land considering how many there are and the overlay on top, specifically the Rapunzel attraction. I'm sure the existing tower in WDW allowed a cost savings for the development of the ride in Tokyo could have been a quid pro quo offered by Disney. It could have even been designed shorter and smaller footprint for a reason...
It would be very cool actually if California got a Frozen classic Fantasyland-style dark ride where the defunct motor boat cruise currently is. It would be so perfect in Fantasyland next to the Matterhorn and they could save DisneylandForward space for more valuable attractions other than Frozen Ever After! They may even have enough room for a restaurant in addition to create a mini Frozen area. I still prefer the Fantasyland attractions to Frozen Ever After just judging from videos alone.
Here in disneyland we got the tower from tangled... i only just noticed after passing by it for 6 months since i got my magic key... the magic just isnt there for us here in socal disney...
Based on some of the newer items in the US and how they are breaking down, losing color, chaffing, splitting, it seems like the while the ideas are awesome, they are not holding up under everyday use...kinda like the 80's vs 20s refrigerator where for the 20s it breaks down just after warranty expiration but for 80, they are still going strong and say they will outlive you.
Speaking to the last question in the video, for the most part I'd rather have a ride that's from another Disney park that I know is a 10/10 instead of a ride that's exclusive to my local park but is a 7/10. It's much cheaper for Disney to just copy/paste rides that are already at other parks because they don't have to spend a bunch of money for R&D and they can just slap the new ride down at the new space. I'd rather them spend $100M for a ride that cost Tokyo $150M then get a ride that costs $100M all-in.
Im pretty sure they’ll add Disney Fantasy Spring to California in Disneyland Forward project with Frozen which is very popular around the world. And they probably add Beauty of the Beast to Fantasy Spring and of course Rapunzel boat ride as well.
Heck they even can call it International Street (a wink to one of the earliest Imagineering expansion projects). And have a european style mainstreet with facades of France - Beauty and the beast, Norway- Frozen and Rapunzel - Germany. Maby trow in a Luca restaurant for an Italy facade, and the brigde or tunnel leading to the land could be Themed to Spain, Portugal and on the eve of exploration of the new world. Coming from New Orleans Square the transition to those countries would be very fitting. But like I said…. Just a dream
Traveling the world is so easy now. I have visited all universal and Disney resorts already. Disney does not understand, keeping the parks unique will allow fans to park hop around the world. If they all look the same why would I go to Disneyland Paris if I've already seen Frozen in HK???
They have exclusivity agreements but their new Peter Pan land at Fantasy Springs is almost the same as Adventureland in Disneyland Paris (minus the rides)…so basically they can copy but we can’t 😅
They already stated Tangled and Arendale from Tokyo could be part of the park expansion for Disneyland Forward though. And it cuts cost to have duplicates of rides anyway,so there is always a chance.
I'm not sure about Tangled. They might consider it "too old" despite all the fans and that children still really enjoy Tangled. Disney is convinced the keys to merchandising money is Frozen, Moana, and Encanto and then they throw in Beauty and the Beast at the end. Gets a little irritating but that's how Disney functions right now. In Asia, Tangled merchandise sells incredibly well so it's just natural to pick it. Rapunzel is the next favorite princess next to Belle. But Rapunzel isn't nearly as popular as Ariel for us stateside. So it remains to be seen what they'll pick. The answer is going to be what they believe will make them the most in merchandise when you walk into the giftshop, even if it over saturates things and will be a problem later.
Yea but US parks don't spend money on maintenance. So expect to ride them on b-mode. And that's IF the attractions aren't on down time. And IF they actually spend the money to open up a new land. IF. (We all know it won't happen)
@@jamie1602 - “Tangled” is way more popular in the USA than “The Princess and the Frog”. That Splash Mountain reskin only makes sense in Disneyland, due to New Orleans Square. However, it thematically clashes with the Magic Kingdom. Disney should have picked a different IP for Orlando. Just like how Paris’ upcoming Splash Mountain with be themed after “The Lion King”. Similar to how Phantom Manor is a reskin of the original Haunted Mansion in Anaheim. Or how Pandora in Disney California Adventure will be themed after “Avatar: The Way of Water”, instead of a carbon copy of the land in Animal Kingdom.
"... it was unfair for other parks to have toys that they wanted to play with." Yeah, I get that feeling, especially about the latest Pirates ride in China. But it's the technology development that creates amazing experiences, and are those "proprietary" to OLC and the Tokyo Disney Resort? I actually wish Smuggler's Run would expand to have the different parts in the "game" that would really fulfill its promise. And the Frozen ride is just Maelstrom technology, isn't it?
The Disney parks don’t have to be copies of one another but I would like to see the quality I saw at Fantasy Springs a few weeks ago be applied to the USA parks. Not so much Disneyland but the Magic Kingdom in Florida is a very lacking and dated park. So the quality of theming at Fantasy Springs is the same level of themed excellence I want to see at Disney world in Florida in whatever they build.
Fantasy Springs, and the “Beauty and the Beast” ride represents just what a travesty the New Fantasyland expansion was. The original Disneyland has a great Fantasyland, but Magic Kingdom’s is garbage in comparison. The expansion looks pretty, but lacks any real substance or vision. It was a complete waste of wonderful IPs such as “Beauty and the Beast”, and “Tangled”. Only “The Little Mermaid” was utilized correctly. The villains land expansion is only going to exaggerate this glaring issue with New Fantasyland. Though, Magic Kingdom might be taking the shopping first model with that land too.
As much as theme parks have pretty much always had an element of being for a more fortunate group of people, the idea of rejecting an excellent attraction because it exists somewhere else in the world is a level of privilege that I honestly still have some trouble comprehending.
Its hard to even compare the Tokyo park to the others. They put so much more effort and imagination into their parks than anyone in the US does. The Disney World parks can barely manage maintenance, let alone do anything special. Most of the expansions that are planned in Disney World start off amazing looking, then get cut to hell and back before they open with around 1/5th of the original plans actually being done. In contrast, Tokyo goes all out and then some. Its one of the few things overseas that I am going to visit as often as possible.
When I visited Tokyo Disneyland I left unimpressed it's just the original Disneyland park but weirdly off just a bit, it wasn't amazing or great it was just kind of like I have this at home. Disney Sea was amazing because it's unique and different, the rides were fine not the greatest, but the atmosphere and theming was awesome. From what I've seen of Fantasy Springs it looks like a bigger version of Fantasyland, which is good I guess.
Keeping the exclusivity of each of the 12 theme parks is crucial for attracting visitors to enjoy unique experiences, and copying and pasting popular attractions doesn’t help with that. Disneyland in Anaheim and Walt Disney World have their own expansion plans. Galaxy’s Edge could only be found in the US parks, but people in Paris and in Asia aren’t asking for it. Those who want to experience Fantasy Springs and other attractions like Mystic Manor, should buy an airplane ticket, fly to Tokyo or Hong Kong, and have an experience for themselves, rather than yearning for Fantasy Springs to be built right next to your house. Why would international parks exist, is that it’s not just to provide Disney magic for the locals, but also giving them their own identity in where they could thrive with their uniqueness and exclusivity. That’s what makes each and one of them unique.
I dont need to see the Video to understand the underlying Problem. Japan just simply has a higher standard of living like most of the developed world compared to the US and as such they need a better park to get the people to enjoy it.
I live 2 hours from Walt Disney World and my 1st stop in Japan on a 2 week trip was Disneyland. I couldn't fit in Disney Sea but their version of Magic Kingdom blew me away. I liked it much better than the original California Disneyland too. It was quite literally the best of both parks smashed into 1. I hope to go back to Japan again one day and will definitely fit in both parks! It was the best way to overcome jet lag too!
I would recommend splurging on a stay at Hotel MiraCosta at DisneySea. It is the only Disney hotel within the park, which means you can hit the park hard in the morning before a quick nap or swim in the hotel pool in the early afternoon. After a change of clothes you’re back into the park for the afternoon/evening feeling fresh and energised. It feels like squeezing two park days into one.
You bring up lots of good points here. However, why do you argue that Disney would have to shut down or convert their existing Peter Pan and Frozen themed rides before adding the new ones from Disney Springs? They already have multiple rides based on a single IP in one park. Case in point: Disney didn't shut down Star Tours to introduce two new Star Wars IP themed rides in Galaxy's Edge. They also have two Toy Story themed rides in adjacent parks, with Buzz Lightyear's Space Ranger Spin and Toy Story Midway Mania at Disneyland and California Adventure respectively.
ReviewThyme is aware Tokyo Disneyland has a Peter Pan ride, yes? Indeed, there are two Peter Pan attractions at the same resort that are (geographically) within spitting distance of each other.
If any Disney resort needs a "Tokyo Disney Resort" injection, it's Disneyland Paris. Their capacity is dreadful! They actually have signs in front of the Walt Disney Studios Park saying "We're at capacity, try the park next door" and "Might we suggest coming back after 15.00?". One Tangled flatride rip-off of the Efteling's Sirocco and a Frozen darkride will not address this. DLP needs a whopper of a capacity upgrade like Fantasy Springs.
Just returned yesterday from Tokyo. Last Thursday May 30, 2024 spent the day at Tokyo Disney Sea. Awesome day in one of the cleanest parks we’ve ever been to along with the most polite park employees ever experienced. All of that at half the cost to go into a US park. 8400 yen per adult (53$). Less than half the cost! Amazing how affordable it can be when they don’t include woke agenda costs into park tickets like the Disney parks here in the US.
Hmmm... With regards to Disneyland Forward: TWDC technically, they could build a version of the Tangled boat ride (change things up a bit narratively by introducing and featuring Mother Gothel and the two hitchmen in the ride.) Similarly, they could build a version of the Beauty and the Beast dark ride with introducing Gaston. From both video ride throughs I've seen on UA-cam, neither one featured the villain and at least constructively in Fantasy Springs, that made sense in that it's narrative and extended lore of Fantasy Springs. (Though, not so much as Beauty and the Beast, but that probably has more to deal with budget and spacing there.) But it's entirely up to TWDC if they want to build a variation of those two rides while also keeping them different enough from Tokyo Disney Resort's versions. I honestly wouldn't expect the Tokyo DisneySea version of the Frozen boat ride coming to the Disneyland because of the all of those mini-background AAs and contract agreements with OLC (and because TWDC have other money-making areas.) Culturally, I disagree with you on Galaxy's Edge. Yes, guests wanted Disney to do an immerse experience with Star Wars like visiting a familiar place and doing an up charged activity (like Hogsmeade in most of the Universal Studios parks and Islands of Adventure Park.) BUT... instead actually taking them to a familiar place, like, oh, IDK, Tatooine, Hoth, etc in each park (which would have been miles better btw), Galaxy's Edge instead became an original land set after the sequel trilogy and... no, I don't agree with you on that. Like, if I was gonna visit Disneyland's Galaxy's Edge, it should be someplace familiar to a guest like Tatooine, Naboo, etc. And at WDW, some other planet in the extended Star Wars universe. That would've driven attendance and made both resorts unique enough so families could visit them both in different times. Culturally, what some locals (myself included here in California) were wanting with Disney doing Marvel and Star Wars in the Disneyland Resort was a third gate of some kind, like just place both in a third gate with Avatar and call it Disney Adventure World (like that recently renamed WDS in Disneyland Resort Paris.) I personally thought it was dumb to be placing Galaxy's Edge in Disneyland especially when it featured Star Tours, but when the new land opened, it was different enough and the new land was designed for Disneyland (not so much in WDW. JUST, WDI! PLEASE THINK OF FLORIDAN WEATHER SOMETIME WHEN BUILDING NEW THINGS in WDW!!! Wide open spaces in Toy Story Land with no shade is not fun!) Culturally, I understand Disney didn't want to be creatively blocked in with building any one specific planet when designing Galaxy's Edge land (and also for budgetary reasons too.) BUT, Disney building both Galaxy's Edges was due in part as a response to Universal's Harry Potter lands (oh look, both feature an up charged activity.) Same with the Fantasyland Forest and Dumbo's Circus in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. In the case of version one of the Fantasyland Forest, that was mainly originally designed with girls, food and meet'n'greets in mind (with duplicate little mermaid dark ride from DCA, expanded dumbo and a Tinker Bell ride as the new rides.) Culturally though, too many guests complained there wasn't enough rides for boys, so Seven Dwarf's Mine Ride was built and two meet'n'greets spaces got axed along with Tinker Bell's ride and her meet'n'greet. Guess what got built in Fantasy Springs? That cancelled Tinker Bell ride (which honestly has a purpose at Fantasy Springs and looks great! Definitely aesthetic wise reminds me the old Helmich Chew Chew Train which should've been placed in Pixar Pier, but I digress.) Anywho, my point is culturally, lots of people wanted to walk in any one of the Star War's planets and instead, we got this original planet which was designed for Disneyland in mind (and woefully placed next to Toy Story Land in DHS with no lifesize Kenner branded boxes that say "Galaxy's Edge playset.") Like, I think what guests wanted versus what they got isn't close in Galaxy's Edge and that's why some parts of Fantasy Springs like a version of the Tangled boat ride, should come to the United States (especially in the Disneyland Forward.) For WDW: maybe, but only if they double decker Magic Kingdom's inner Fantasyland courtyard for dark ride because it's not using forced perspective and therefore, they can get away with it!!!! Sorry, end rant.
But even the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is going to expand beyond Hogwarts with the new Ministry of Magic land. The facade of that area will be Paris’ equivalent of Diagon Alley.
For the Tangle ride, why not put it in Fantasyland where the motor boats used to be? Then have the indoor section be under Autopia while having drops be included.
I hate when they announce that a ride that is here in Orlando is going to be copied in Disneyland. Like both resorts dont have a whole lot of space left for good rides. And now you are gonna waste it on a carbon copy? Example. Galaxy's Edge shouldve been two separate eras in Star Wars. West Coast couldve got the Disney era of Star wars and East coast would have the original and prequel era. Ride track would be the same but the ride would be different. Like Dinosaur and Indy. And you wouldve had different characters and experiences. Also food and merch would've been different. I dont go to a parl to do the same thing I couldve done back home. Why fly out there to do that? No reason. Thats what.
I don’t believe the narrative “people wanted more Disney stuff in Tokyo Disney Sea” visiting the parks in Japan is such a unique experience. The guests don’t run around in Spirit Jersies like they do in the US they don’t even sell a Tokyo Disney spirit jersey. To me it was an opportunity to add something unique and creative FAR MORE CREATIVE THAN WE WILL EVER SEE IN THE US. THE OLC gets it. They are re-doing space mountain and they create unique expensive attractions that the US “CHEAP” parks won’t. Save your money and visit the international parks. Such a great time.
On your point about repeating attractions, what do you suppose will become of Peter Pan’s Flight at Tokyo Disneyland? Will it be replaced by another Ip? I’m thinking Alice in Wonderland. Perhaps even Bambi or Mary Poppins! I could see them utilizing a real classic!
OLC ... Isn't Afraid To Put The Money Out...AND ... IT ... SHOWS !!!!! -- Tokyo DISNEYSEA .. Looks Amazing...Just Like Opening Day..GREAT Park !!!!!!! -- And .. "Beauty And The Beast" ..Show/Building And Ride.. IN. TDL .. WOW !!!!!!!
Everything the oriental land company does always looks squeaky clean from opening day, and Disney can’t even run their whole company without a single issue ruining their reputation day by day
I watched other channels which showed that there are A LOT OF BARRIERS you have to go thru before you can enjoy this new area: 1. you need to buy a seperate enteramce pass on top of your regular pass. 2. Then you need to buy yet another fast-pass to MOST of the rides. 3. one of the ride doesn't even inclued in that perimum fast pass that you still need to line up and wait.....
Logically it wouldn’t be best for Disney world to create a new park. It makes more sense for Disney world to expand there parks but there isn’t enough space in some parks excluding animal kingdom
Fantasy Springs looks lovely. But it's basically an extension of Fantasyland. And it's easier to create something like this, because it's all IP based. I've noticed something else about a lot about many other theme park vloggers and even the Disney executives. Whenever a new land or attraction opens up at one park, many of them tend to push for a replication at other parks. It seems as if many of them want the parks to be homogenized. Why do they do this? Why can't they allow each Disney park to have some similar attractions and lands, and at the same time, allow others to be unique to each particular park? Is that too much to ask for? I say . . . allow Fantasy Springs be unique to Tokyo DisneySea.
My big question for the future going forward is, could the overwhelming success of this expansion and the pettiness of Walt Disney management jeopardize their relationship with OLC. OLC has basically put the other Disney resorts to shame. Fantasy Springs exposes the corner cutting and penny pinching of the US parks, especially with the comparison of their Frozen attractions. But Disney does NOT like being made a fool of. Disney has had a lot of hopes with their fantasy area of Disney Adventure World, and after seeing the attractions in Fantasy Springs, I can’t imagine anyone will have the same level of enthusiasm. It sort of depends on your faith in the individuals currently in charge at Disney. There are three outcomes here. 1. Disney learns nothing from this, as usual. 2. This becomes a wake up call to Disney to put quality and guest experience first before cost cutting and upcharge experiences. 3. Disney takes the low road, and acts in a way that strains their relationship with OLC. Such as trying to raise the licensing fees, or trying to put more pressure on them to instigate changes to the Tokyo park. I’m just worried is all. If Disney management’s pride is as fragile as I fear it is, then we should be concerned going forward.
Tokyo: We've a full scale Tangled e-ticket boat ride.
Paris: We're getting a c-ticket Tangled ride that has boats in it.
Orlando: ...TOILETS!!!
Lame. The tangled ride is c to d ticket. Watch it. It’s shorter than Pandora ride. And not all animatronics.
Disneyland Paris is also going to have Tangled themed Toilets.
東京版:アレンデール( Arendelle)の街は全てトイレ!!!

@@georgekoshti_richman1392These are not tangled toilets at Disneyland Paris, it’s just a part of Adventure Way, with an art nouveau theme (like the Regal View restaurant, the food pavilion, etc.) ;)
These toilets are included in the same building permit as the Tangled ride, that’s all
Disneyland we have a tangled theme pole
Tokyo has had a dedicated WDI team for decades. We shouldn’t look at their successes and assume we would ever get them in America. The Oriental Land Company has actually passed over some of the more recent proposals from American WDI because they didn’t meet OLC’s expectations.
When will we get them?
It’s a shame people were clamoring for ‘more Disney’ because Disneysea ‘wasn’t Disney enough.’
Yeah…I’d rather have Disneysea as it was than the newer Disney IP attractions being put in everywhere.
@@fredlopez5213The vloggers don’t do much to help prevent that either
@@annien.1727 Shut up, that puny pro-Trump executive already lost his case against Disney recently…
They would have done a better job of the Star Wars Hotel immersion experience
anyone who ever work with japanese company know they are very archaic and slow about everything. not to mention hiding a lot of shit under the rug. just look at toyota and daihatsu scandal lately. olympus scandal, they manipulate safety data and even manipulate accounting report just to keep them afloat. japan is declining and pretty much going straight to the ground now. people are blinded by japanese success in the 80-90's, japanese are very good at using soft power and propaganda to hide their smelly shit.
takahashi really kept his promised to build the great amusement park
Cultural differences. In Japan, it’s perfectly ok to make a profit after providing quality and service. In the US, that’s not good enough. Your profit margin must always be rising. If profits are stagnant, then you aren’t doing a good enough job. OLC could increase its profits by charging a little bit more, offering a little bit less, paying staff less, and so on, but they don’t.
Epic Universe is going to be the closest thing to a Tokyo Disneysea-esque park in the US, because of the immersion
This is a wild take can’t wait for epic universe to suck
@@kaijuguy19 Having lived in Orlando for quite some time Universal saw themselves as a 2nd place park experience, that kind of changed with IoA, they realized they could stand on their own two feet and be more of an "adult" experience. .
Really another Disney and Universal comparison?
Is Epic Universe really going to be the first DisneySea level park in America?
What the Hell Disney?!?
Looks to be that way which is both amazing for people who want that level of immersion and wonder in general from theme parks and ironic because it shows how far behind Disney really is to Universal in the states theme park wise
@@kaijuguy19 I cant believe it. They are just willingly gaving up a market share that, not only did they invent, but one they have DOMINATED for the past 60+ years.

Lucky enough to live only a half hour from the Tokyo Disney resort. Going to make a lot of fun memories with my kids in the next few years.
Being not owned by Disney the best possible outcome when it comes to Star Wars would be the Tokyo owners walking around the US Theme Parks and saying “we want this, but change it to be based on the good movies instead of the new ones you made.”
“Star Wars” is not popular outside of the Anglosphere.
US: Look at these tangled bathrooms, aren’t they cool?
Tokyo: here’s a tangled ride, you’re welcome.
WHY DO WE NOT GET THE COOL STUFF?!!
While I prefer the Tokyo parks to the American ones, the US still gets cool stuff like Pandora, Galaxy’s Edge, Cars Land, etc.
Fantasy springs looks perfect... but almost so much so that if the rides have a low throughput compared to demand, there will be nowhere to expand next.
Let me correct you on that.
OLC gets 100% profit from
Merchandise
Food and Beverage and the Duffy and Friends Franchise.
This may have been commented on previously, you said Tokyo Disneyland opened in 1982, it was 1983.
Tokyo DisneySea was my first Disney experience. Totally worth the $50 ticket. Didn't even have to wait in lines! Somehow I doubt I will get the same value in the US lol
Tokyo DisneySea is indeed one of the best theme parks I’ve ever been.
The best compromise would be of these international parks gave full english audio. Vincent Price for Phantom Manor, Idina Menzel for Frozen Journey, and Joe Rodhe for Tower of Terror
Amazing video, as always, fellas. I love how you guys touch on both sides of the argument. Great watch 👏
Tokyo Disney Resort also already had a peter pan attraction, i dont see why TDR would be okay with having 2 pan attractions but WDW and DLR wouldnt...
No. What disney needs is a better maintenance schedule. What good does it do that we have those ride systems if they're constantly on down time?
I love all the people complaining about the attactions even though they’re all incredible in their own way
At least we can travel there! *Books flight to Tokyo*
good to know how much fantasy springs costs. people are going crazy and imagine the most lavish things for disneyland forward, which will have a price tag of 1.8 billion (?)... for the whole project! not just the park expansion. for comparison, each galaxy edge costs around 1 billion.
Mystic Manor is just a reskin of the Haunted Mansion but with a trackless system.
In summary. I dont think we will be getting a Disney Fantasy Springs in the U.S parks but I can easily see us getting something similar with different IP's and a different overarching theme that still has the appeal of Fantasy springs, either being more original IP based or just more thrill themed based
We still need the avengers e ticket here at California adventure, it’s been years
@dayoldbread1696 ye I don't count that as Disney forward.
That Tron rollercoaster is fire. I wish we could get that here in one of the US parks.
The “Tron” roller coaster is in Magic Kingdom.
@@ChienaAvtzon really? When did they get it? I was there last in 2018 and I don’t remember that being there.
@@octoberboiy - It opened after the pandemic. Shanghai Disneyland had the exclusive rights to the ride for five years, due to it being their equivalent to Space Mountain. Honestly, from what I understand, the Hagrid roller coaster in Islands of Adventure is superior to the Tron coaster. Since, it has a much longer track.
I think it would be great to see a video about Tokyo Disneylands Cinderella mystery tour
My gosh I wish OLC would buy the US Disney resorts
I could see the frozen ride at fantasy springs possibly coming to Disneyland. But that’s it.
Americans: “duhhhh stop putting IP in our parks Disney. That hurt my feelings and my theme park bias”.
Japan: “We want more Disney IP in Tokyo DisneySea! We love these characters!”
As an American, I’m embarrassed.
Great job lads
For some strange reason that ride speaks to me. 😂 I’m glad they put it in. But the rest of the attractions in that land stink. Especially the Doctor Strange show. What the hell is THAT? I’ve seen better magic at kid’s birthday parties.
Just out of curiosity, what versions of attractions do you find inferior at DLR?
As an American and also has been to Fantasy Springs recently. Yeah we don’t deserve this. Frozen is one of my favorite attractions of all time.
I absolutely love that Tokyo Disney doesn't theme itself as much. I love areas that facilitate Disney rides, but aren't entire lands dedicated to just one movie. Fantasyland, Adventureland, and Frontierland do this particularly well.
Was looking at Disneyland Forward on the Disney website. They sure make it look like were getting Rapunzel's tower.
Tokyo looks AMAZING! HOPE ONE DAY I CAN GO!
Thanks.
I'd rather them spend $100M for a ride that cost Tokyo $150M then get a ride that costs $100M all-in.
smiles when I see your thumbnails, can't wait for fantasy springs late sept. for me.
Im pretty sure they’ll add Disney Fantasy Spring to California in Disneyland Forward project with Frozen which is very popular around the world. And they probably add Beauty of the Beast to Fantasy Spring and of course Rapunzel boat ride as well.
Beauty and the Beast attraction in place of the Robin Hoof attraction would even be beter! 😮 but it is only a dream…
Same not really. Jolly roger and Skull are very different in scale and design
I don’t want fantasy springs to come here, I just want Disney world to put in effort on par with fantasy springs.
So do I.
Nah. All we got is budget cut.
I hope that Paris get´s some of these areas / attractions.
Damn. I love Winnie the Pooh ride at Disneyland CA so come to find out Tokyo did it better and first at their park blows my mind.
It has nothing to do with woke agenda lmao, it has everything to do with Capitalism.
I honestly wouldn't expect the Tokyo DisneySea version of the Frozen boat ride coming to the Disneyland because of the all of those mini-background AAs and contract agreements with OLC (and because TWDC have other money-making areas.)
Culturally, I disagree with you on Galaxy's Edge.
Wide open spaces in Toy Story Land with no shade is not fun!)
Culturally, I understand Disney didn't want to be creatively blocked in with building any one specific planet when designing Galaxy's Edge land (and also for budgetary reasons too.) BUT, Disney building both Galaxy's Edges was due in part as a response to Universal's Harry Potter lands (oh look, both feature an up charged activity.) Same with the Fantasyland Forest and Dumbo's Circus in Fantasyland at the Magic Kingdom. Definitely aesthetic wise reminds me the old Helmich Chew Chew Train which should've been placed in Pixar Pier, but I digress.)
Anywho, my point is culturally, lots of people wanted to walk in any one of the Star War's planets and instead, we got this original planet which was designed for Disneyland in mind (and woefully placed next to Toy Story Land in DHS with no lifesize Kenner branded boxes that say "Galaxy's Edge playset.") Like, I think what guests wanted versus what they got isn't close in Galaxy's Edge and that's why some parts of Fantasy Springs like a version of the Tangled boat ride, should come to the United States (especially in the Disneyland Forward.) For WDW: maybe, but only if they double decker Magic Kingdom's inner Fantasyland courtyard for dark ride because it's not using forced perspective and therefore, they can get away with it!!!! Sorry, end rant.
But even the Wizarding World of Harry Potter is going to expand beyond Hogwarts with the new Ministry of Magic land. The facade of that area will be Paris’ equivalent of Diagon Alley.
Nice video. But to note : Epcot opened 1982 but Disney Tokyo 1983 you have repeatedly said that Tokyo Disney opened in 1982, which is wrong
When you say "Disney Staples," I picture Imagineers assembling the facades of DCA 1.0 with a stapler 😂.
For California’s version. It’ll have to be separate due to space.
For the Tangle ride, why not put it in Fantasyland where the motor boats used to be? Then have the indoor section be under Autopia while having drops be included.
No it won't. The whole point of getting control of Disneyland Drive from the city is to let the existing parks cross the street.
@@Edward2Fan47 There won't ever be a Tangled ride in Disneyland.
Hopefully for a Cassandra meet and greet
No reason. Thats what.
It’s great that this land will be exclusive to Disney Sea, but Japan already has a over-tourism problem with many bad eggs 😭😭
Most of the budget for Fantasy Springs was spent on the tacky hotel.
@ fantasy springs looks very nice and that hotel looks great to. The animatronics there are absolutely amazing
@@99chrisjay - The hotel is ugly and overpriced. As it is nowhere near the luxury level the OLC is pricing it at.
@@ChienaAvtzon it’s not for you that’s ok. A lot of people like it and pay the price. Looks great to me.
pooh's honey hunt!
I do want that frozen ride to come state side though.....
Can the oriental land company buy all of the Disney parks!!! They do so much stuff better!
I’d love it if they ran the Disney parks here in southern California
IN. TDL .. WOW !!!!!!!
Everything the oriental land company does always looks squeaky clean from opening day, and Disney can’t even run their whole company without a single issue ruining their reputation day by day
I would rather have an original attraction than a clone, but I'd rather have a clone than a cheaped-out version of the same concept, like Pooh.
They are even giving wdw radiator springs racers, one of the only e ticket rides that makes it unique

Disney World is getting villians land. We’ll be fine
The Thumbnail kinda spoiled it.
