Forget 2024 Adam, get the car stripped now to the bare bones & sort it properly once. Do the job right the first time. You will waste twice as much time & twice as much money doing it twice.
No way, I want to use it over the summer.
Never a truer word spoken. Plus you will enjoy it more knowing it’s mint. I wouldn’t want to be rolling around in a half baked car
@jruk1981 think you have to remember he's said he's skint, so enjoyment Is free.... save money do it right over winter
Definitely think do it now it’s stripped, sacrifice one summer
If its mint he wont want to take it out then.......yes ypu lose time doing some strip down twice but..........just enjoy
Found an old towel from a dead relative had me dying 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Thought that was good too!! - only thing is it was his Mrs's bathroom towel and the only dead person will be Adam for nicking it!!.
That's dead funny pmsl
Absolutely spot on how you fabricated that filler knock hole, you need to give yourself more credit! You care and it shows.
Towel from a dead relative 😂
😂😂🎉
😂😂😂😂😂
Was it still warm?
This made me laugh too, he went full on Alan partridge for a second 😂
I admire your determination Adam, keep at it pal,it will be worth it in the end 👍
After 45 years Adam learned me a lifehack how to hoover the tough spots of my car, thanks mate!!
Happy to help 😂👍🏼
Agreed I shall be using that useful info as well, cheers Adam! 😀
Me too 👍
i own a mk4 transit, keeping up with rust is a labour of love
Cracking little repair job, nowt the matter with your welding.
Great to see some more on the escort cosworth Adam!must be hard to find the time juggling everything, but please keep it coming!you have done so well getting to where you are, love your stuff!Well done mate!
Love your little tips Adam and how passionate you are love your content keep up the good work looking forward to your next video 😊
I am learning the Northern accent and lingo as i watch these as well as car stuff.
Adam drops a vid. I’m smashing the kettle on and getting comfy.
😂
Terry just a thought but when I made mine I put a connecting bar that joins both ends of the rotisserie together once they are on the car. This was an after thought on my part but made such a difference once I did it especially when moving around. Keep up the great work, love the vids 👍👍👍
Adam what your needing is a good snap on blue point needle gun and hook it up to your compressor and you’ll have all the crusty stuff off in seconds Very tedious with a wire wheel Needle gun takes everything off in seconds Great investment
I'm loving your fear yet fearless, unknowing (will it work) attacks at all of the challenges you're up against with your "dream car"...
Following enthusiastically..
Keep at it..
Doing great for those of us that attempt similar.
Gr8 descriptive commentary and informative.....
Don't rub ya meat around the welds/cuts rough edge's to check though 😂
Great videos again mate, absolutely loving watching this.
Thanks for all the great content you have on your channel it’s been a journey 👍👍👍
It's your car if you want it out for the summer go for it .I'm enjoying this project Adam.
Good effort on the repairs Adam. On the LHS 2 pieces of new metal you put in. I would put some strength back in by adding some plug welds. Use a spot welding removal drill bit. Drill through one piece of the two strips and plug weld them.
Keep up the good work.
You had my attention with "an old towel from a dead relative".....lovely car Adam ...
Loving the videos Adam keep up the good work
Brilliant mate need a longer video on the escort cossie could watch you all day fixing back up
Brilliant bit of work mate Cossie coming on mint
Great channel love all the updates and the trips down to Paul Mr Cossie
Nice job Adam , good bit of welding there.
So many innuendos. 'Going in dry'.... Nice job. Perfect welding.
Good tip for the hoover !
Good tip with the hose in the hoover!
Great job, Adam!
You’ll get there mate, just keep plugging away with it 💪
Hi Adam, doing a good job of interim check/repair ready for the summer. Lovely Cozzie... Alex
Absolutely love the hover “cheat” ❤👌
Banging welding mate - and another top video, keep them coming pls 👍👍
Great job Adam. Love your humour. Just ordered my free beers. Great start to the weekend
nice job nice to see someone do a proper job
Been looking forward to your next vid Adam👍
Admire your determination pal, keep at it ,it will be worth it in the end.👍
Beautiful car Adam and I remember them back in the day. When I was a lad (1980/90s) I wanted an Escort RS Turbo but it was out of my budget. I find it hard to believe that someone would paint over mud and dirt. Looking forward to seeing the old lady fully restored.
Good luck bro big job on your hands there
Another cracking video mate. Car is coming along nicely and I like all the explanations of what your doing and why your doing it. Inspires me to have a go with projects on my motorbike. 👍
loving these videos Adam.. Really interesting to watch
You getting good at this welding adam
Adam, those 2 bits of metal you glued in need plug welding together, you missed the same on the other side.
Great job so far mate
They’re seam welded together just above where I ran my weld. I will probably buy a spot welder to make it look original when I restrip it
@@Adam151082 drill a couple of small holes through 1 layer if steel and fill the holes with weld
Cant wait to see it finished adam
you got a big heart............but my heart bleeds for you........any one like me who has been there with rust will know this is a huge task........hope it work out.....cheers..........
Great idea for finding the center of the hole
It’s coming on Ad well done 👍
Great video Adam, I can fully understand your passion for this car, it’s your dream classic❤.
Fair play bud. You're in there now so you may as well get balls deep and finish the car. Welding is a love hate job but your doing a grand job.
Can't go wrong with an Aussie beer! Can you taste the Commonwealth?....lol I'm Aussie by the way. Dick Johnson is a Cossy legend!
Great video. Love the one liners 😁 Hopefully in my next life ill have a garage..lol
Love it Adam absolutely brilliant mate 👍
Nicely done!
you can use a bit of water to help drill cut , if you have any more holes and dont want to use oil
I'd do the whole underside of the car now while it's stripped, i guarantee if you just patch it up for now and get it on the road, you'll never want to strip it again.
Fair play with the welding, I’ve got an old golf in the garage and a welder which im meant to be using on it but to worried I’m going to set the thing on fire.
Adam get a cover over that lovely sierra!! It’s getting covered with the grinding dust etc…😢😢 Keep up the good videos 😋
and have all the dust sitting underneath the cover blowing and back and forth over the paint once doors, tools and heaters etc blowing destroying the paint? think about it next time moronic idea
Just a wee tip, you should have drilled some small holes in the front bitty, plug welded through it into the back bitty, flush off with the flap disc.
Well done Adam looking good do agree about doing it while it’s stripped down but then build like this is never going to be a cheap rebuild so may be enjoying it now is the better option 👍🏽your welding is coming on mate looking pukka 👊🏻
Best way to work on any car in your own garage. Few chilled beers great crisp pork scratchings nuts and good 80’s music !😅
Did my cars under side, used industrial paint stripper and an electrical drill with a wire brush, then coated the underneath in rust protection, hammerite and under seal and then wax oil in everything.
Another great video Adam 🤟🤟🤟🤟
Good video, you know what thet say measure twice cut once, id prefur to spend that extra time on prep and get it right than have to start all over again it doesn't matter how long a something takes as long as you get the right results
Something I do do when I do the hovering 😂got to love a mackems grammar
What a brillant video ! Well done mate and glad no sausages were harmed in the making or testing in the video 😂
Ne hints or tips but just wanted to say what a miss these videos are when you don't see them for a while. Good crack and good work on the cars
Love your videos , got some great phrases aswell , borrowed a towel from a dead relative 😂. Doing a great job , keep it up 👍
Away with work in japan. Realy enjoying the build mate keep it up.
That hoover tip is useful, why didn't I think of that!
Adam do a proper job on it
Get the 3 door out and enjoy
The escort can wait
hi as you know the car needed work and your the man to do that work well done so far dude 👍👍👍
A lovely job as always Adam 1st class good luck 👍👍
Its getting there Adam, just do what you can while its in bits then enjoy it, cars are meant to be driven, theres a lot of comments saying make it mint while its in bits, i get that, it does make sense but do it how you want to do it,we'll all watch the videos anyway😅
You should watch Yorkshire car restoration to get some welding tips. The way he uses paper to make templates is fantastic.
Any videos up of your restorations?
You need some gilbow snips for cutting repair patches. Used them in roof cladding for years .
I use they birstle brushes in vmc's for deburring/ polishing after machining cast iron.
Always had new cars but if I was anything like brave enough to take something like this on it would be awesome, love the videos.
Been waiting on this :)
Good job Adam💪
Good job, well done
Congrats, bloody lovely car.Subbed.
I run a 90's Honda that lives outdoors with steel about as thin as a crisp packet so I know all about rust paranoia.😁 So far, so good, mainly because at this stage it's more anti rust wax than car. 😅
And you're dead right about that aftermarket shultz goo(imho). Too often it's just used to cover up existing rot and/or I've seen too many cars rot away underneath the stuff unseen. Even on good steel just the smallest crack can trap moisture underneath.
I was a welder mate, that works spot on what your doing, keep practicing, you'll get better,
When you decide to do it please get it dipped so that all the rust is taken out of it 👍
You are doing a great job,you are way better doing the underside over a couple of years, unless you have help you will get fed up with it,use it for the summer then start on the rest.I thing you will do better to oil spray the bit you have done,it will last for a couple of yars then just spray it again, there are kits out there to buy
Top job as always, keep it coming, what is the welding helmet make
Top man Adam good work
(not that i’ve done such welding) but if you watch the pros they dont weld in a line, they do spots along then keep filling the gaps slowly so you dont get too much heat into any one place and avoids warping and blowing thru
Wow what a beautiful car best colour aswell them wheels look amazing aswell do you not build Fiesta or do u just do sierra and Escort ???
Adam the welding fires are very sneaky they start in channels in the car
I was always checking for smoke flames in the car , but you can never be over cautious
If you find more holes I would remove seats and carpet
It might take a bit time but the time it’s gonna take to find second hand extra cash you ain’t got and worst completely torching the car it’s worth the while
Am letting you know as own experience lucky I was outside once fire gets a hold on under seal it soon spreads fast
Just a strong word of warning 😊
We need longer videos Adam 👍🏻
Plodding along mate, it's all a learning curve pal.
Get yourself a selection of flapper discs for your grinder, they are soft and form to the metal. Not too harsh for ripping of rust. I’ve got a RTECH mig set, same as yours good kit. I’ll sell you an RTECH tig set if you’re interested. I’m local , hardly been used.
Clever chap, but you must have a very understanding family.
Class content as usual Adam 👌🏼glad you liked me showing you your UA-cam channel half way down the a1 😂
Im inclined to do the whole underneath because everytime you take old schults off there is rust, do it properly once you wont have to ever strip it again
Im not going to test that theory 😂😂 i don’t blame ya. Great video it’s coming along nice Adam 👍🏻
I've said it once, and I'll say it again. Adam is such a likeable guy.
No idea why this channel has exploded yet. Always a good watch.
try the copper weld thru primer, much better for mig
its very worth getting one of the cheap chinese plasma cutters, i got the 55amp plasmrgon, originaly got it for sheet steel but its great upto 10mm plate,
