I am from India sir. Really great video Sir. Firstly thanks for this experiment and One question is for you Please answer as soon as possible. I have recently purchase a Acer Nitro 5 and I check all test and one think notice that in screen ips glow on my screen in Black but white screen is ok and no dead pixel also. when I move my acer laptop screen than ips glow more is it normal sir or not ?. Mostly all test pass my screen. how can i send you that ips glow screenshot ?.
I have found one pixel blue in the black background at the top of the screen on my brand new Thinkpad E14. It's only visible when we ore high brightness with a black ground. Other than it's fine also it's out of my visible area, just below the top panel outer area. Whatever it's brand new and I found it on the first boot. I contacted Lenovo customer care since its customized brought from the Lenovo store. they refused to make a replacement and it's not covered under warranty, that guy said it's totally fine, as per their pixel policy 1-pixel failure is ignorable they need more than 2 or 3. I dont know what to do. Except that 100sRGB panel ain't have any problem. No Bleeding or Glow, colors are natural and vibrant. Any advice on this? I need to keep it or fight again to replace it? does more pixels will die in long run?
I don't think one pixel is a big deal if its out of the way. But if it really bothers you, you can try. Unfortunately replacement of products depends on company policy as per Indian Law. You can claim warranty if you wish and then if they do not fix it under warranty you can file a claim by calling national consumer helpline for free. I am not sure on how it will go, but filing complaints usually gets them to do right by you if you have been wronged.
Thanks for the great video. How to check for text clarity? I bought a monitor and it is diferent than the laptop and not sure why... How to objectively check this? Thanks
you can use macro camera settings on your phone to see pixels. for digital output it is not a case, i think. you can tune text appearance in kind of "clear type settings"
My monitor(laptop) is having a light dark patch (upper left corner). Though the pixel isn't dead but colour appears darker than the original surrounding colours like if the colour is red it would appear a darker shade of red under that patch. However most of the times it is not noticeable. But it is kind of annoying sometimes. Any fixes?

Tjena! I have a bought a 32GP850 IPS monitor. I like it, and it does how some very slight background bleed but mostly IPS glow. It's not a huge problem at all, and I actually feel comfortable with it. How much IPS glow is "too much", if that's even possible to answer.
Hello and thank you for this video. Help me and give me your opinion please! I just bought Lenovo Legion 5, I watched the whole video and no dead pixels, brightness is okay, everything is good but what concerns me is that when the screen is totally black, I see some very small white circles as big as a finger prints on the bottom of the screen(where the taskbar is) on the edge, I only see it when the screen is black but I don't see it when it's green or red or white or whatever it is such as videos or video games, it's like three very small white circles and when I move the laptop lid, the light is like getting a lil bigger or smaller, is it something I should be worried about?
There is a big spot of IPS glow in my brand new Samsung UR55 😥 It isn't bothers me when I'm at the desk but it's very noticeable when I'm 6 feet watching a movie or show
That i think definitely calls for a return of the monitor!
What a comprehensive yet short video to cover every important thing. Kudos to you! Subscribed.
Super video. It helped me a lot, but the subscription stamp that appears in the middle kinda ruins the effect of the tests (IPS GLOW).
The problem is you can't turn that off on specific videos 😭
I have a light red color pixel on my monitor does that mean its a dead pixel??
If it's always there it sounds like it. Change the monitor in that case...
Hai I get blue lines, green and yellow lines in IPS screen, these line are only visible when I apply blue or green wallpaper also the same for the videos and it won't appear in black screen, white, red and dark blue. Is this couse due to dead pixel .
No that must be another issue but it sure sounds like a faulty panel to me. Is it a new machine?
@@w2best yes it's been 7 months ....
@@sherinalex4288 That should totally be a warranty fix then.
I got one and its in the middle when it first happened I was creeped out
Thank you so much man! Gonna check one at market today, its the Asus tuf VG27AQML1A 2k 260, ill check it thoroughly after so much time finally gonna buy 240
Glad to be able to help!
Great vid! Used it to check my new dell monitor and I'm even happier with my purchase now :)
That's great! Good thing!

Thanks a bunch! You're always a very fast commenter! I appreciate it! :)
@@w2best U bet!
My laptop has only backlight bleed on high brightness only
thanks for this, luckily my unit might just be perfect as it passed all the test's.
Good! Great that you tested so you know! :)
Hi, your videos are good and really very helpful, I'm planning to buy a new pc, can you pls suggest that what things do I have to check before buying a power supply unit of xpg brand for my pc, so that I'll get a genuine product and not a older or refurbished one.
Subscribed! This stopped me from chasing my warranty 😄 finally realized its only an ips glow
Thank you! Glad i was able to help!
great video and tests
appreciated!
Glad you like it!! :)
Hello, I just bought an ASUS TUF monitor, I would like to ask for support in assessing whether to leave the monitor or send it back. I uploaded a video to us my account for verification purposes.
thank you great info and advice on how to chack if youre screen is tip toe i got scared in dead pixel part but it was dust
I love when that's the reason :D
So useful! Thanks!
1 dead pixel & plenty of backlight-bleed on my brand new Asus Rog Zephyrus G15 - Will send for replacement, cheers
Glad you checked! That's totally not ok!
Anybody else only seeing stuck pixels on this video and no other pixel test/black screens.
Testing thresholds: (Examples and testing)
Backlight Bleeding//1:30; 2:33
IPS Glow//2:55; 3:31;
Dead pixel//4:58;
Max and Min Brightness// 6:38;
Color Check// 8:10
This gotta help if the testing and decision is made while purchasing from the shop.
I want to show you an image of my new ryzen laptop screen. I am concerned about it. How can i show you?
Send it in Instagram :)
I bought a MacBook Pro M1 just a few days ago, and I noticed that screen have a backlight bleed at both corners, I claimed my warranty an they give me a new Mac, now I made this test and I can find the same pattern, I've read about a common trouble in 13" screens, What you think about it???
It's a common problem in every single screen. The hard thing is when you change you might get a unit that is even worse.
If you notice it at daily use in daylight - it's not great.
If you only notice when stress testing i wouldn't care too much.
I dropped my phone and now dead pixels are there, its also spreading 😭
I really thought I had a dead pixel, BUT it was a little spec of dust. Thank you for the very useful video!
great! Glad to be able to help!
Great vid, can you make one to test out 4K displays?
I have them in 4k available :) Not with all the instructions but it works fine
Wow actually an innovating video!!!, big ups for this content 👍🏻
Glad you like it! I really tried my best! :)
Just got an ASUS VG279 which is notorious for bad QA and looks like I am in the clear on all tests!!!
amazing! Happy for you! :)
Any fixes?
I've had this in some laptops as well and never been able to solve it. If it's a new machine i would have it changed. Hope you can work it out!
@@w2best thanks for the reply. I was late in noticing this defect, by then the return window closed. Hopefully would watch your monitor test video once I get a new one in the near future. 👍
i have a black light bleed or ips glow in every corner of my laptop. It's not that bad i am only able to see it on a black screen. Its asus tuf gaming a17. Is that fixable? I bought it 15.12.2020. maybe im still able to replace it? pls help
If you only see it on a black screen and are not disturbed by it elsewhere I wouldn't try to change it. It's just too much hassle to change something for such a small issue and the risk is the next unit you get is worse...
@@w2best okay, thank you a lot...one more qustion! Can this get worst and what should i do if it get worst? i don't think i would be able to replace it after so much time :D
My new Asus Tuf F15 has IPS glow in one of the corner. Is it normal or an issue?
It's very common! If you see it in normal day light I would consider getting in touch with the retailer where you bought it for a potential exchange.
@@w2best you fespose for 2 year video respect mean
Are higher refresh rate more prone to dead pixel ?
Never had one in year with 10years with older screen, and now in 3month use got one
Not that I'm aware of. I have one monitor and one laptop with higher refresh rates. The laptop is a TN panel with WWA and the monitor an IPS. No dead pixels here. The only dead pixels I've had in a laptop is in a full hd dell xps 15.
Thx for a great educational video my man.
I was testing my new tv, I only got a weird small blue spot on the red screen at the upper edge of the screen, is that a dead pixel or two ?
what about the dazzling screen
What is dazzling?
Thanks a lot buddy it was very useful
i think i really did win the lottery with this screen :)Asus VG27AQL1A i see zero bleeds as he mentioned , the glow is really minimal amost not notceable at all , no yellow thing and zero dead pixle im so happy i didnt go with LG GP850-B as i heard so many bad rewviews about the build quality
