    This thing is so fucking badass. Tissot rules lately. I get why some folks experience the various prx variants as wearing too large with the way the lugs and the bracelet interact. Different strokes for different wrists. This is a legit alternative to the Hammy chronos which I also love. Thank you Teddy as always for such detailed coverage.

    Bought mine today! He said that I was the first one in Sweden and one of the first in the world. With a 17cm wrist I was scared that it would be too big but I was pleasantly surprised of how well it fit my wrist. It is for sure a big watch but I think it works very well!

      You have an average size wrist. It's a 42mm watch it's not big it's average for modern watches. Most watch brands mainly make watches between 41 and 43 for men.

      How big is your wrist, if you don't mind me asking??
      I have a 7.25" wrist, maybe just slightly larger, and definitely plan on stopping somewhere to try it on before purchasing online as I'm not sure if it'll look TOO small or not.
      I bought a quartz 40mm not long after they came out, and loved it... But found myself wishing it was just a BIT smaller. I was able to find a great fit with the bracelet, and I was lucky enough to get one that didn't have any issues with the seconds hand not hitting the markers like so many have brought to light... But even on my wrist, the very large "real" lug-to-lug had me wanting a 36-38mm BADLY. It didn't exactly have any actual "overhang" but there was a bit of space between that first link and my skin, if that makes sense, which just bothered me a bit which ultimately pushed me to put it up on eBay back when it was nearly impossible to find the Blue or Black Dial Quartz in stock.
      Tissot makes Rubber straps for the PRX line, and makes an automatic 35mm and it's game over... I'll go buy another 40mm Quartz, put it on Black Rubber, and then grab a 35mm Automatic real quick!

    • @ehuntley83
      @ehuntley83 2 роки тому

      @@idonotexist_ my wrist is about 6.5”. The 35mm is a perfect fit, especially with the integrated bracelet, since that gives it a slightly wider lug appearance, and lug-to-lug.
      The 42mm was too big for my wrist, unfortunately. I didn’t like the way it sat 🤷‍♂️

    The Longines has a column wheel intergrated chrono for about £2000 after discounts. But this is much better looking albeit with a less distinguished movement. Also given the rotor and the rather industrial pearlage the transparent caseback might be a little unecessary. Love it though, saving up for the blue.

      Agree that a column wheel chrono is perhaps more refined, a 7753 is going to be much more robust and require less servicing costs down the road. This is one of the main reasons why the Speedmaster Pro has always opted for a similar chronograph architecture.

    I have the PRX Automatic white waffle dial and I love it! It is such a comfortable, good looking, well specd swiss watch. I cannot think of anything better for the money. I’m absolutely after one of this chronos as well. It’s another great deal. And honestly, I don’t need another automatic chrono, I have two speedmasters, but I only mentioned this because this is how good the prx line is, it’s just the sports watch that finds its own space in your collection

    It's kinda crazy how Tissot manage to pull off this great series of watches for this price. I think this will bring Tissot to become a much more popular brand in the future (considering they seem to have been looked at as a bit "meh" the past few years from what I've heard) . On another point, I'm currently opting to buy an automatic PRX, haven't yet set on what dial color, and maybe hoping they soon will release a new series of 40mm's with some interesting dial options. Even a day/date/moonphase with a cool dial layout, that would be my choice if I could pick! The crono is pretty sweet tho, I like the blue one a lot!

      I've felt like I'm the only one who hates this case and overall design. Even the Gentleman turns me off with the really wide stance on the wrist from the huge polished bezel. As much as I want to love Tissot their designs are always just a bit off for me. For anyone who does like this case design though I can see why they'd be pretty hyped.

    While definitely too large for my wrist and taste, it's a beautiful watch, and that Valjoux movement and accuracy are very desirable. Nice, had 2 Tissots once : a 35 mm 1939 6216 with column wheel Lemania CH27 and screwdown caseback, and same from 1945. Little collection pieces. Brand did go down since then tho but they're still nice.

    I really do love this watch, I just think it looks out of place on a 6.25" wrist like mine. The powermatic 80 just seems like a better fit, and the chronograph hole in my collection will continue :(

      Given the limited options for Valjoux chronograph calibers, I don't see this going south of 40 mm if they want to keep it mechanical. If they decide to open it up to quartz that would make it more flexible.

    • @timepiece_enthusiast
      @timepiece_enthusiast 2 роки тому +2

      I don't think that this will happen with this chronograph version, only with the normal PRX PW80 that will eventually have a 35mm version as well

    • @dandc2011
      @dandc2011 2 роки тому +1

      They'd have to go with a manual chrono caliber, possibly even getting rid of the Valjou all together in order to make it fit

      @@TeddyBaldassarre Maybe they can do an ST1901 manual wind version, and skim the size to 38, thickness down to 12mm, and price down to 500 bucks... Now THAT would be a steal, although not a Swiss watch anymore :)

But noticed in the corner of my eye the Tissot prx 42 chronograph blue panda WOW watch a watch everything screams quality and craftsmanship the blue dial POPS felt like a Zenith El Primero or Rolex Daytona Panda.

    As an owner of a blue dial Powermatic 80, I'm kinda underwhelmed with this watch. There are plenty of 40mm chronographs out there, and maybe the 2894 would have been a better choice. You may not get a 60hr PR but you get a much more wearable watch. I'm also not a fan of external date correctors, they're just another point of failure. Lastly, the gold hands and accents on the panda version are bleh.

    Make a quartz version, given in Australia this crono cost three times that of the automatic PRX variant a quartz crono PRX would make it a viable option in the market place for many.
