Was on a server yesterday, we were having trouble with the dam Idris, when a dudr decided "fuck it", solo boarded it whilenit was still manuvering and fighting, fought his way to the bridge, and then just set the self destruct. It was *Glorious*
It was pretty buggy, the javelin did nothing, but stand there. The mission ended with "fail" but at the same time "complete" 2 sec after, rewarding the armor. The Idris railgun is deadly tho, one hit from it, soft deathed our hammerhead XD
I was having a dreadful experience anywhere near the event under Vulkan. I switched that off and the change was drastic. I was able to get 60fps+ in and around the station during the Idris attacks and it wasn't even dropping below 50 in the 2nd stage. It was absolutely manic with ships, missiles and explosions everywhere. Brilliant event I've now been able to enjoy at high FPS on 3 separate servers. Even getting enemy AI providing a challenge on 1 particularly good server. Such a shame others aren't having the same experience as my group, but for us it's been great.
This has been the best XT since soft death was added. Overall, it was still a bit buggy but even though there did seem to be some anti-CDF PVPers present, they were good sports about it. They didn't come in large waves of fully crewed A2s, Hammerheads, and Reclaimers to sealclub the PVEers and stop the mission. They came in their fighters, spent some time fighting, and after a death or two, joined the PVEers so that everyone could finish the mission and get their armour.
i notice that too now when server drop fps npc still react in some way they slower but no go stasis like before , never play a XT mission, or any other event
Maybe life will actually let me make a xenothreat event ! But it nice to see SC coming to life makes you wonder what server meshing will accomplish since this is XT with just a replication layer
For the best event I've yet to be able to get it to actually work after hours and hours. Doesn't help that there appears to also be 2 different versions of the missions. I do think part of the issue with "trigger happy" players is also the fact that the attacking Idris's that appear are not hostile lol. On paper this is great, but it feels like other events where this really might need instanced server meshing to play out correctly. Pity though, it's still kind of fun when the bits are working.
There were several players sitting on the side lines in the area letting other players to finish the event and get credit for it and paid. This caused some issues. When our group played it the servers held but were slugish.
I didnt have any issues with the two time i ran XT this time. Dog foghting and cargo running both worked well except one cargo ship failed to explode properly but others were available to clear and loot just fine. Biggest problwm we had was people occasionally going after friendly players because the FoF system flagged them wrong

Third attempt and the javelin froze in place and I waited 20 mins before calling it quits for the night. Came back the next day for Fourth attempt and finally the mission worked with a lot of lag during the final battle. The event is a cool concept and has potential. I also didn't know exactly how to get the supplies and transport them, but once I figured that part out it did become more fun. I'll probably play another round or two bc its easy money.

I ran through it many times.. experience was hit and miss.. few times the crash site or Idris didn't spawn which stalled the event and we had to server hop.. few times we would jump into the area and land either inside an asteroid and have our wings blown off or inside an NPC and get blown up and that huge quantum stall when you first get there really sucked.. but there were some really awesome times where everything went as planned and we had a blast.. My son and I got our armor sets too :)

Haven't been able to get through an XT mission yet due to crashes and server performance. Any server I've played running xt has degraded to 2fps. Glad it works for some folk, but generally I'd say it's been a colossal mess. It reminds me of when xt came back after pes... We used to beg people not to launch the mission because it would kill the server. I'd say it's close to that now, I'm going to hold off logging in until the event closes
You can kinda see the stutter and low frame rates even in this video. How is this running smoothly? I believe that you had a great time, but I don't see the responsiveness and high frame rates you claim. I tried XT twice and the servers were always so bad, that we could not even finish phase one.
Good lord! The new sound of the Gladius is just so terrible. It sounds like someone is grinding coffee beans in the background throughout half the video. Imagine once they 'rework' the sound for all the ships like that. The noise will be intolerable

50% of the time part of it bugs out and you can’t progress I’d say in my experience last two days . There were times when fps performance tanked in battles around idris with considerable ai ships and players all fighting, I’d fly away and fps was normal again so I’d say it’s not there yet , it’s a fun event though but maybe that’s just because there’s nothing much to do in star citizen until they give us content like this to do lol
I don't know if we played the same event :P I dropped from 70 to 15 fps, the new UI ensured it was impossible to see what I was shooting at, everyone showed up as red, the station was shooting at me despite no crime stat, and Master Modes ensured that the fights themselves were just a slow slideshow of sparks if I could even get a ship separated from the furball of chaos and UI Markers around the Idris.
I don't know man. Just played the eent with my org again right now and ...we got our asses kicked. NPCs all over the place, we fought hard,but they reallu overran us. It played well. We had multicrew, squadron flights...
I finished it and got the armor reward. It was awful; everyone was killing each other as the tags were all red, the server was a slideshow so people were fine one second... freeze... then boom, dead by flying into an asteroid or something; most of the time you never knew what hit you. The whole thing was a sh*tshow. I hope CI doesn't do anything like this again until we get reliably decent servers as this whole event, even going back to the first mission was a painful, buggy slog.
Look it was more fun than the overdrive missions, however at the same time it was a horrible experience due to no matter what server and time you were on there was so much lag it was unplayable, all the dead ships, and debris that are persistent for immersions sake with 50/100 ppl online even the server just couldn't hang.
Best? I tried it 12 times now. Never completed. Half of the time phase 2 doesnt even start. 2-3 times its a PVP grief hub, the other times you have 30k errors where everything resets. I dont know man, this is the worst Xeno i have personally ever experienced ( its my 3rd or 4th time i dunno anymore )

The event worked for me....just the one little issue of my pc dying at around 22-25 fps....cries

Make the most of it, before the servers degrade, and you have to server hop to finish the missions.

Was ok. Frames weren't the best, but made it through the first attempt fortunately. If optimization improves it will be a much better event.
