I don't think they've added parachutes because not all the planetary bodies have atmospheres. They likely need some sort of rocket pack that you can use instead.
@@juliet4093 Parachutes need to be different sizes in order to work in different atmospheres, as well as the extreme example of no atmosphere where they don't work at all. Do you really think that in the future the safety system would be something that only works if you are in the right environment or would it be something that works in all of them? A rocket pack is the easier solution and less work for CIG since they already have some EVA mechanics.
I get to gamble with the travel within the train rides. Sometimes they show up and sometimes it’s me getting on and then the next station disappears so if I leave I fall into oblivion. Had it for a long time, used to be the elevators for me back in the day. Now trains. Or being stuck in my bed at the stations. The minute I was able, I’d get my ship, fly and then sleep so I can spawn back there instead of gambling if I’ll be able to play that day.
Great review, I can add that Star Citizen is not a game, it is a PLEDGE as Robert Industries lawyers like to call it, to shield and block any lawsuit against them brought by the buyers which realized they were cheated. Pledge legal definition - a thing that is given as security for the fulfilment of a contract or the payment of a debt and is liable to FORFEITURE in the event of FAILURE. So good luck for new players which ask a refund for this tech demo. Star Citizen is in development for 12 years and has no official release date with a budget higher than 500 million $ but it is still in a perpetual alpha demo and still plagued by numerous bugs. Also Star Citizen is selling ships packs with delusional prices up to 20.000 USD. So Robert Industrie, for money greed reasons, do not sell Star Citizen as a game, a FINISHED or in development game, and instead they sell VIRTUAL PROMISES - PLEDGES for REAL MONEY which paint a clearer picture of a shady money scheme. Better call a spade a spade.
lol, lowers landing gear while landed...explodes, so realistic XD I still don't understand why people love this game so much, it barely works, most things appear broken years later and it seems like most of the immersive spaces are window dressing and have no level of interaction in them. The ships are still cool and there are a lot of options there, but when I hear about how much money some people have sunk into this game, it shocks me, because this is a huge risk where it will likely never be finished, or in a state that could be considered a finished product. The word I keep coming back to, to describe it is Vapid.
that's kinda how i feel as well, every time i hear about an update, it feels so... empty and mostly segmented. i also, dont get all the praises about "its trying to do something nobody else has done before" which to me, is a pointless argument. overall, i dont really see much of a reason to get into it, as it feels like a gimmicky sandbox with no real content besides "go have fun" which sounds weird, said like that, but its the best way i can find to describe it without summoning a thousand rabid fans trying to eat my ass for insulting the god emperor or something...
I had that same issue, re: falling through the planet from a distribution center elevator. I really like those areas, so I hope the issue doesn't repeat itself XD
The in game Merch .. "RSI" /Roberts Space Industries is not based on the developer of the game... The developer of the Game... is based on an existing Ship manufacturer in the Lore of SC... which just by chance also happens to be Roberts , like you know... Chris Roberts. But hey either way... its in the lore of the universe :>.
Cloud imperium games is the name of the dev. RSI is the in game ship manufacturer named after Chris Roberts who invented the quantum drive in lore… the website is named after that company.
In the ship combat portion at the end you switched to nav mode which lowers your shields and disabled your weapons which is why he killed you so easily. Gonna say you should look up some guides and find people to play with.
Play with a group that knows a little and you will have a blast, and soloing is good but group play is way better than I would have ever thought. The larger ships even make this very fun.
8:36 - You MIGHT want to raise your landing gear. If you don't, you move VERY slowly. The game won't allow you to rip your landing gear off, due to excessive speed. Special events, such as the Invictus Launch Week (when you joined the game) are notorious for long (and infinite) loading screens and lots of server lag. That's because there are SO many more people overloading the servers for the free fly promotion. CIG does that to promote their ships, but also to study the server load and to be able to find ways to improve the servers' performance in the future. We suffer now to be able to flourish later.
I have seen the last 3 'tried star citizen' videos 3 times each, I almost cried when I saw another attempt at the game. Can we please keep on going this time. I don't have the game because I don't have a pc to run it and I live it through the bull-shi* youtubers do in it, I really like your style of recording and gameplay
Wondering if the choppiness in frames at the beginning was due to shaders loading, because as buggy as this game can be, I honestly rarely run into lag that bad. That's my personal experience though.
i’ve installed and uninstalled this game 3 times now trying to play the update. it just gives me error 30000 and crashes every time. i’ve tried every fix possible that i could find. game fell off smh
Just to make sure, is it installed to an SSD? Star Citizen is pretty heavy with streaming content in and out so they recently updated their minimum specs to require an SSD.
@@woodster605 If you have played the game previously, then it possibly is a character issue and may require a character reset, if you haven't attempted that yet.
Eventually, as the Replication Layer matures, wherever you log out will be where you start. They have to revamp the bed system however, for that to take effect for right now logout ties you to the last station-bed.
As others have said, learn to find and use med clinics on stations so that you can set spawn.....anywhere besides a city. At 23 min you hit Z which is the free-look button. just hit it again to leave free-look.

How is your game running so smooth? I have 4090 with i9 12900ks and 32gb ram installed on a fast SSD and my game runs so clunky, strutting, fsp drops all the time, getting around 30 to 50 fps. So I uninstalled it
You had your nav mode on when you tried to get back at the guy in the end of the video, nav mode has no shields, so you basically got obliteraded for not using the combat mode, give the game another try, i think you may like it, for a bit atleast.
Point of convention is that you get to try all ships in the game for a week for free. Helps you know which ships you wanna work towards to buy with in game currency.
Sadly, Star Citizen isn't really the sort of game you can jump into once in a blue moon and really play successfully. It does take time to learn various aspects of it. Given your comments at the end, I would expect you to struggle with it, particularly as a solo player. A lot of people learn the game from playing with others. Hopefully it will become easier over time but with the amount of controls and other parts you have to know outside of that, it doesn't necessarily suit the way you do your videos. I would consider finding someone to team up with next time you look at the game, if that's possible (and if there is a next time).

@@Tsudicoor they could just add parachutes and let you deal with the consequences of the presence of a atmosphere or lack there of
@@juliet4093 Parachutes need to be different sizes in order to work in different atmospheres, as well as the extreme example of no atmosphere where they don't work at all.
You can use left alt + n to request landing. You also use Right alt + R to turn on all your ship systems so you dont need to find all the buttons
Press LAlt + N to call landing services
But why LAlt i press every time ALT + N and it works fine 🤔

500 million was years ago. Its closing in on a billion raised.
lol, lowers landing gear while landed...explodes, so realistic XD
I still don't understand why people love this game so much, it barely works, most things appear broken years later and it seems like most of the immersive spaces are window dressing and have no level of interaction in them. The ships are still cool and there are a lot of options there, but when I hear about how much money some people have sunk into this game, it shocks me, because this is a huge risk where it will likely never be finished, or in a state that could be considered a finished product.
The word I keep coming back to, to describe it is Vapid.
that's kinda how i feel as well, every time i hear about an update, it feels so... empty and mostly segmented.
i also, dont get all the praises about "its trying to do something nobody else has done before"
which to me, is a pointless argument. overall, i dont really see much of a reason to get into it, as it feels like a gimmicky sandbox with no real content besides "go have fun" which sounds weird, said like that, but its the best way i can find to describe it without summoning a thousand rabid fans trying to eat my ass for insulting the god emperor or something...
@@marcosdhelenoidk I think the game is a lanky mess that barely works, paradoxically I have also had fun with it
I had that same issue, re: falling through the planet from a distribution center elevator. I really like those areas, so I hope the issue doesn't repeat itself XD
Use orbital markers to get line of sight positioning when trying to fly around mooins and such
The in game Merch ..
@@Wind_Lord Well you are correct actually just the Site wears the name... which is in a way even weirder but hey! lore friendly.
@@L2Xenta Why is it so weird?
@@maxjohnson403 cuz its a bunch of nerdy gamers and devs that build and control this project...not some corporate/VC/Publisher.
@@L2Xenta That's a bad thing? Why do you want corporate meddling?
In the ship combat portion at the end you switched to nav mode which lowers your shields and disabled your weapons which is why he killed you so easily. Gonna say you should look up some guides and find people to play with.
7:25 I appreciate the dedication to realism. Can't have a space city without space junkies.
The game can be very frustrating, but with time you learn to work around bugs and do things like setting your spawn at the closest station.
Play with a group that knows a little and you will have a blast, and soloing is good but group play is way better than I would have ever thought. The larger ships even make this very fun.
I want to take a break until 1.0 and my Javelin is flyable...
I was literally wondering when this video would come out a couple of hours ago, you damn psychic :D
I have seen the last 3 'tried star citizen' videos 3 times each, I almost cried when I saw another attempt at the game. Can we please keep on going this time. I don't have the game because I don't have a pc to run it and I live it through the bull-shi* youtubers do in it, I really like your style of recording and gameplay
the developer is cloud imperium RSI is a brand of ship, the first to make quantum drives so they use the name for the website
Does he know that people go crazy over checking out the Invictus Ships?
I would love to see you play more of this game I really enjoyed the funny moments and it made my day just a little better
Wondering if the choppiness in frames at the beginning was due to shaders loading, because as buggy as this game can be, I honestly rarely run into lag that bad. That's my personal experience though.
we got another “jayvee plays star citizen” before gta 6 💀
i’ve installed and uninstalled this game 3 times now trying to play the update. it just gives me error 30000 and crashes every time. i’ve tried every fix possible that i could find.
game fell off smh
That error indictates a server crash. I just logged off - no reports of such problem on the server I was on for the last 3 hours.
@@Fractal379 yeah i’ve tried playing the game on multiple occasions over however long the updates been out and it’s happened every single time
Just to make sure, is it installed to an SSD? Star Citizen is pretty heavy with streaming content in and out so they recently updated their minimum specs to require an SSD.
@@Tsudico yes it was. and just in case i did also try my hard drive but no luck
@@woodster605 If you have played the game previously, then it possibly is a character issue and may require a character reset, if you haven't attempted that yet.
Jayvee, huge fan of your content, man. Can't wait to see how you take Sq42 and this game when it's further along!
Eventually, as the Replication Layer matures, wherever you log out will be where you start.
They have to revamp the bed system however, for that to take effect for right now logout ties you to the last station-bed.

The bounty just about covered the medical expenses. It even comes with a complimentary welcome back message.
This game keeps adding more features before ironing out the bugs of the previous patch
As others have said, learn to find and use med clinics on stations so that you can set spawn.....anywhere besides a city. At 23 min you hit Z which is the free-look button. just hit it again to leave free-look.
It's not NPC standing on benches, that just the Standard Stanton I'm busy leave me alone action.
Just asking, what music do you use in this videos
Does the lift at New Babbage still send us to atmo?
That face tracking thing was hilarious!
Also, hope all is well in your part of earth ✌️
Im glad to see the NPCs still stand on seats. This game has come a long way.
hey man ik this game might be frustrating but as far as i can help, whenever u want to communicate with a space station to land allways use the cockpit screens u just have to push f and a mouse icon will apear in ur screen and u will just have to click one button and u will have access to a landing hangar granted
How is your game running so smooth? I have 4090 with i9 12900ks and 32gb ram installed on a fast SSD and my game runs so clunky, strutting, fsp drops all the time, getting around 30 to 50 fps. So I uninstalled it
so it looks choppy in the video...Is the framerate smoother when you aren't recording?
You had your nav mode on when you tried to get back at the guy in the end of the video, nav mode has no shields, so you basically got obliteraded for not using the combat mode, give the game another try, i think you may like it, for a bit atleast.
What I like about this game is that by the time I could afford a pc that can play the game it’ll be released
u can rent all those ships go to the info for each ship and rent
Ya the whole point of the convention is to rent the ships for FREE. YOU COULD'VE FLOWN THEM FOR FREE.
Point of convention is that you get to try all ships in the game for a week for free. Helps you know which ships you wanna work towards to buy with in game currency.
…or IRL money, no need to be disingenuous, CIG have to eat, yes rental, yes ships can be bought in game, but also… a sale to make the company survive.
Every NPC checking their watches all the time
I logged in earlier but the server was not healthy. I rushed to my cabin on my carrack as soon as the chair and the door stopped holding me hostage... I don't want to have to reload my pieces and Usa again. It's fun but time-consuming lol
you can search for the destination on the map at the top left.
that hanger didn't open as its a bug. Just press Alt N and request hanger again, and it will open. Yes, you need patience in the is game lol
I'm two weeks into it and love it, took me a ages though to figure most things out.
5:00 Roberts Space Industries is the name of the first manufacturer of consumer starships in the SC lore. thats not just merch of the developers lmao.
and in real life RSI are the publisher, not the developers
for those who dont know the invictus hall is bugged and is extremely laggy, dont ask me how its star citizen. i love the game but its got the strangest bugs
Get a friend to guide you in game mate. Honestly, it will completely remove all of the starting junk and get you into some crazy content, pirating, salvage derelect ships etc.
Much more fun than trying to fly off in a starter ship. Although people gave you like 3 billion credits or something so, if you just had someone show you how, you could just go buy a ton of mad ships
Call me crazy or are you playing Vigil as the background track from Mass Effect?
3:11 "you look lonely, i can fix that" ahh clip
ok but why mass effect music? can't you be copyright striked with that in the background?
It’s so fun watching him just run around the universe causing absolute chaos 😂
How are you getting perfect performance on Area18.
If only starfield had the ability to fly into and out planets without loading and being able to fly around in planets
Last time you played, I am pretty sure Area 18 did not have a convention center. You were taking the rail to a new location of Area 18 which is why you were unfamiliar with the buildings.
@23:04 you went into free look by pressing Z, press Z again to gain control of ship :)
Invictus is for you to try all the new ships for free, it’s pretty cool getting to own all the ships for a week for free honestly
I feel like the guy staring at the "Taste of Freedom" thing looks a lot like that guy from the recruitment videos in Helldivers 2. But, maybe that's just me. ^_^
This is the type of open world map size that would be great for a Pve zombie survival thats also space themed. It could be similar to what the flood was in halo.
Enjoyed the video. You can keybind hailing landing services so as soon as youre in range and the station sends you its welcome, you can hail them for landing clearance. I have mine set to /
it has a keybind already set, the tutorial even tells you that keybind
I definitely enjoyed Starfield but it is in no way as impressive as Star Citizen. If you add up all of the loading screens in Starfield it probably evens out to the number of crashes and restarting of star citizen so… 🤷♂️
Starfield has a solid foundation, once we get better optimization, atmospheric flight, vehicles, content, and Star Citizen ships, it'll be the best single player space experience ever.
These things will come, and we won't need as much patience as we do for Star Citizen.
