This week's episode takes us to Galloway Forest Park for a car camp so I can get it clear in my mind what I'm doing with the stealth camper conversion......

Great idea Simon. I used to have an old style Nissan x- trail, the rear seats would fold and give a huge flat area, ideal for camping. Best car I ever had, wish I still had it! 👍
Ah yeah the old style X trails were awesome mate... Great usable space and headroom too. Funny we get attached to vehicles don't we ! I had a B5 passat back in the day and this is brill....brings back good adventure memories. Thanks for watching ATB Simon
Just a couple of little ideas. I have a MK8 Civic which with seats folded down can actually fit a double size matteress/ inflatable bed.
I got a net curtain cable from Home Bargains , fitted the hook fittings either end and strung it across from the grab handles above the front doors. You can then drape a piece of black material or a black bedsheet over the cable and hang it behind the front headrests completely blocking out the view in the back from the windscreen or front side windows . Combined with limo tint anyone looking in will just see darkness and not even notice the curtain.
Also window deflectors, you can crack your windows open a bit and they will hide that theyre open.
Some top class suggestions there mate especially like the window guard & front curtain gotta keep stealthy. Thanks for watching ATB Simon
Power unit essential. Get a minimum of 500 watts. Add a portable solar panel and add a 12 v fridge. You can get quite small ones. The power unit can be charged via car 12 v output. It’s a game changer. Also, the power unit can support an electric blanket at night too.
Funny u should say that....now have the allpowers R600 unit with solar panel....yet to test it fully but solves the power issue. Never thought about heated blanket great idea !!! Thanks for watching ATB Simon

Great vid. You've got the right car there..lve had Passat estate for 20 years it's now 25 years old and still looks and drives great their bomb proof and loads of room. Used to go to the Galloway forest but was always a little paranoid about lighting a fire great place .We used to go a little further up through Newton Stewart and on to the coast little place called Monrieth . The girl friend and me and 2 Rottweilers in the back happy days. And watching your adventures lm gonna make sure l go up this year minus the girlfriend and my 2 dogs sadly l have just 1 young bitch now so just the 2 of us. All the best l will be following your adventures if you see a blue Passat estate pass you it will be me..haha

Is your Passat AWD? If not get a 4-Ton hand operated winch and some straps for your trunk, just to be safe 😇
I´ve bought a quattro A4 to use for camping since I´ve got my frontwheeldrive Mondeo stuck all the time when driving to lakes and rivers... 🤣
Nice car btw would have preferred one of these Passats with AWD over my A4, looks better (personal opinion) and has a little bit more space.
