Fire TV Features Request: Bring BacK The Fire TV Box & Upgrade The Remote

- I would like to see Amazon bring back the Fire TV box without Alexa built-in like the Fire TV Cube. Revive the design of the Fire TV 2nd Gen & let it be the middle ground just like Echo Show 8 is the middle ground for that category. Here is my Fire TV features request.

Mr. Chard you are the man I agree with everything you just said, I also have the Fire TV 2nd Gen I love it but its old now and just wish they would remake it again but with all the new software the 4k Stick has and keep the SD Card slot and yes that remote with numbers and letters would be a homerun for Amazon, thank you, sir, for all the videos you made, may the Great Lord keep you safe.

Chard I just finished purchasing a WeChip G20S Pro for the same reason you just mentioned about that missioning feature. The numbers man and I can't wait till it arrives. Great informative video as always.

Hello, you shouldn't have any problem as far as I know, I don't think Amazon is blocking usage of older generation Fire TV Sticks. Were these purchases new?

They're not going to bring this box back because it offered too much for someone that knew what they can do with it. It could also be rooted if you caught it before the update. This was rated the Top Box in its time, & still is if you know how to work it.

You are right on the money, thank you! I have the Fire TV box connected with an IEEE cable. Don't know why they only give you 6 gigs of internal space in the first place?? I have a 32 gig SD card added to the Box, but it appears that the files moved to the external storage still occupy some installation garbage that use up a lot of that original 6 gig that you start out with... Totally ridiculous! The only files left on my internal storage are the bloatware that is unable to be uninstalled! I had to remove some files off of the external storage to clear the low storage warning that stops Fire TV, unless you uninstall some applications... Vicious circle! I have less than 1GB installed on my external storage and I only freed up 665 megabytes on my internal space. They need to increase, at least double, the amount of internal space provided on each unit, so you can, like you said, utilize more of the apps that they offer you for downloading!

I actually have 3 of the 2nd generation boxes. But I’ve replaced with the Apple TV 4K Wi-Fi + Ethernet with
128GB storage. Which works fine with my HD TV’s. The Apple TV is actually faster with a sharper image. Plus buying movies in boxsets and entire series seasons is actually a 1/3 of the cost than Amazon videos. And there’s always bonus content on many movies. Plus the Apple TV has the Amazon App so I can watch the Amazon videos that I already bought. The Amazon Fire TV does not come with the Apple TV app which is another downer. Right now my Amazon 2nd generation boxes are all collecting dust in storage. I will probably donate as I won’t go backwards with Amazon.

Bring the box back with an 6 core cpu upgrade 3 gigs ram 32 gigs internal storage with sd card expandable storage slot like before plus running fire os 7 or 8

@@ChardTheTechGuy so would i alot of people now just buy used ones and root them delete fire os and install xmbc as its lightweight doesn't take much to run and supports modern applications it's also constantly updated. The major problem with fire os is it starts out ok but overtime as u install and Uninstall applications the os gets sluggish and eventually bogs down fstrim would fix this issue but as of yet fire os doesn't support this on stock boxes or sticks fstrim trims down nand memory chips it's the same process that happens when a pc optimizes or trims an ssd

problem getting video, so i done some research and red(sic) that i can get video from my usb port...i tried diffrent ways to get it to work but nada...any pointers on how i can get video out of this baby? Any advice, pointers or suggestions?

Nope, Amazon stop supporting it, you just have to use it like it is
Getting my old 2nd gen box out and in it’s day it was great. But it is soooo slow. And the Ethernet is 10/100 only and the usb and usb aren’t really available to put all your files on the external devices. So you end up with tons of space on your external but all the stuff that Amazon installs on the internal storage fills it up and it’s useless. Probly be selling my 2nd gen box soon. I’m sure someone might want to tinker with it. But the 4k maxs run circles around this dinosaur.
