    In my opinion, the most important step in learning to fly a paramotor is finding the right instructor. There is so much to learn in this sport between physical training and general knowledge. A good instructor will build your foundation for success in this sport.

    I'm 59 and disabled so watching Tucker's vids is like an escape . I watch and imagine myself in a trike and find my happy place . Doing anything like this is just a dream but probably one of my happiest . Disability doesn't pay much and I have 5 others depending on me so affordability is not in the cards but I'm just glad to be able to watch the escapades of our hero and see if we are at the beach or over the hills or skimming a lake. It really doesn't matter to me. I'm just happy to be there . With all the bullshit that is going on in the world today , it is good to find an escape. Thanks Tucker , you really seem like a good kid . I know your folks are proud . Please keep the videos coming , they are more important than you might think . Regards R.F.

    2 years ago I went XC in my hang glider. I mounted my phone to my basetube with a hose clamp and tethered the phone to the mount. I did not tether the mount to the bar. My buddy Paul and I had only gone maybe 7 miles before getting pinned at another mountain due to the thermal drift was too flat and erratic to go any further. While soaring the face of this mountain, I decide to take video of me and my friend and turned the phone to face him. The hose clamp for the mount snapped and I watched the whole thing fall about 600 ft. I saw where it landed and drove up the mountain the next day. The mount was smashed, but the phone only had a broken screen. Got the screen replaced and it still works today. Galaxy S5. Still takes great pics and video. But yeah, I always tether my phone better now.
    I like your vids. I'm thinkin about doin it.

      And the guy in that mansion looks up in the sky and says "that would be the life..." seeing Tucker flying. I engineer structures for multi-million custom build homes and very often I'm surprised how low the quality of their owners' lives is despite the "dream-life" picture when knocking on their door. CEOs of medium or large sized companies, doctors owning a number of clinics, lawyers with their large practices, engineers on high salaries, you name it, they all suffer from the same thing being lack of time. That lack of time fucks up not only them, but often you'll find that the guy is fucking his assistant, his wife is fucking her personal trainer, and their son is hooked on drugs already, despite being only 14 and their daughter is seeking attention, drinking, partying and will put out to anyone interested in her. No, thank you, my middle class life is just fine.

It would be nice if you showed some good procedures that new flyers might overlook, or the order of your flightcheck to get people into that muscle memory. You don't have to, it's your channel, but it would give you topics to talk about.

    Hi Tucker! I found your channel recently and your amazing with a Paramotor! This video is very inspiring to me - although I am scared to even try this (at 58 years old - its never gonna happen) BUT sincerely thank you for letting the world see this from your perspective - I am a life long Chef - and I was exposed to it when I was 2 years old when my Great Grand dad and mother took us all to the rest where he owned in South Boston - I was inspired to become a chef and I have - what really hit me was your story here how you got into this sport - its a life decision and you invested in yourself - this is something that I applaud you for cause - I see here how much effort you put into being safe and keeping others safe - I know you said you wish you were doing this back when your grand pop did with no restrictions but SERIOUSLY - You over came all of that, just like I did with Culinary Arts - I really cant wait to see what you do with all your skills - Pilot - repair man (motor) and all the flying skills - winning Icarus OMG - I hope you never quit - thank you for sharing I look forward to seeing what your going to do - Be well!!!! and god bless!

    Its incredible how almost identical my story is to yours and now I am really considering getting into paramotors. I am super stoked to have found your channel, I ground launch and ama bit of a DZ rat with a fixed wing PPL and aeronautical engineering background in the beautiful Cape/West coast of South Africa, really mind blowing beauty taken to another level from the air and although I found a bit of a stigma the skydivers attach to paramotors and paragliders I never get hung up on that shit and was born to fly which really is all that matters - I literally gave up everything to fly and have realized in my area the best flying I can do is low and slow but with good range so I decided some time ago that paramotors must be it for me so thanks for the encouragement and inspiration man! I saw your base sessions and with some very of accomplished friends in the sport I ve seen a lot and think you are a natural, your timing, instincts and situational awareness on the fly for a beginner seem to me to be above average so I am subscribed and inspired - Blue skies brother!

    I just discovered your videos about 2 weeks ago and have watched quite a few of them. I didn't even know about paramotoring and now you have me wanting to do it! It's highly unlikely that I will though. I'm 69 years old, (that itself is not the problem), I also don't have ten grand plus lessons to spend to get into the hobby. But it is indeed a fantastic hobby for sure. I really enjoy going with you on flights. You make great videos. One thing I'm really surprised about is that I never see any other small aircraft in your videos. I live in western PA near Clarion and it seems like there is always something flying around overhead. Mostly small planes and helicopters. LOTS of helicopters. I've never seen a paramotor. I have seen some hot air balloons on occasion. Anyway, I'm really surprised at the scarce air traffic in your area. If I flew around here I'd probably get hit by a helicopter.

      Fitness is borderline, but doable I think. Once I get in the air I just sit there, right? It can't be too hard. :) It basically looks like an "air-motorcycle" to me. I can still ride a bike, so I should be able to paramotor. The cash is the serious problem here. If I had the cash I'd definitely do it. And it's not just the cash for the equipment, but I'd need to have lessons too. As much as I hate to admit it, I'm currently well below poverty level for the USA. Although I'm working on possibly changing this in the near future by starting my own business. We'll see how that goes.

    This guy, Tucker Gott is a natural flyer. He has got what it takes to be an Air Force pilot. I would love to coach him . I spend so much time riding with him (via camera) I feel like I know him. He thinks well ahead of his flying. I ought to know.

    How you feel about flying is how I feel about horseback riding, especially trail riding by myself or with 1 or 2 other riders. Trail riding in the snow is amazing because it's so dead quiet and I feel like I'm totally at peace and one with the environment. But let's face it, who hasn't thought of himself or herself as a superhero able to fly through the air and I imagine when you turn off your motor and are just gliding on the air on a pleasant and perfect day you feel at peace too. But clearly you enjoy your revving it up a bit as much as I enjoy a good canter and jumping over low obstacles. Stay safe. Looks like a helluva lot of fun.

    I started flying planes in my early 20s with pilot friends. Early 30s I started working towards my PPL. I stopped flying when I bought my house and just haven't gotten back to it. I'm further from the school now, but I found out I'm close to a paramotor school. After flying in a SeaRey at 4500' with an open cockpit in the Texas summer, feeling God's natural air-conditioning at that altitude, being around clouds, I think powered paragliding is definitely a good choice for me. I'm sure I'll go back for my PPL one day, maybe my Class A so I can go jump too, but PPG is definitely something I'm going to do.

    • @Millbrook1974powderedwater
      @Millbrook1974powderedwater 7 років тому +1

      +Hocke I had the same problem. Humans are primarily not meant to be flying, so all sorts of natural fears kick in once you're airborne, especially the first few times. There are two things that matter: Your natural fear of heights will diminish as soon as you stop looking directly beneath you and focus more on the horizon. The given fact that altitude means that it gives you more time if anything happens will turn this "natural enemy" into a friend.
      What also helped very much was the fact that I learned to trust my equipment. Now while flying I think in 3D and the sky is my playground.
      I wish you all the best and hopefully you'll manage fine! Have fun!

    • @Pete_R63
      @Pete_R63 6 років тому

      Hocke, in certain situations, I am afraid of heights. Didn't stop me from making 1100+ skydives and getting my hang gliding license. We fear what we don't understand and once I took the classes and got some time under canopy and wing, the fear that ignorance breeds goes away with knowledge and understanding. For me it is also a being in control thing. I make a lousy passenger when I don't feel connected and in control of whatever vehicle I may be riding in. I feel most comfortable and connected when I am the driver/pilot/etc. When I learned how a parachute worked, I had total confidence-instead, I was afraid in the jump plane until my buddy, the pilot, explained it all to me-things like what the plane was built to withstand and what amount of stress or force it undergoes when we climb to altitude. After that, I enjoyed the ride up. Good luck. I always say, to fly is the single greatest thing in the world.

      Many pg pilots are afraid of heights in my experience. It does not trigger them as the sensation is different. Fear of flying is not fear of heights.
      The feeling of walking on a fixed structure where you can feel swinging and flexing is very uncomfortable for me. It's especially bad if you see the ground trough a grid for example. I get uncomfortable on fire escape like structures. Climbing a wall at a gym is easier in that regard. Flying no problems at all. It's similar to being on a swing
      Sometimes some people get motion sickness from even calm pg flying and quit because of that. You notice that very early on. Tandem is much harder because you know less what's going to happen.
