    From the first two turns I absolutely understand, why you're so much faster in VR, it's something I noticed too when I compared my sim driving (one 24" screen) with real driving. In the screen setup you turn after you pass the optimal point of turn in, in essence you react to the turn itself; in the VR you turn in at the optimal point because you do not react to the turn but the turn comes to you because you have the benefit of depth and stereoscopic vision. Now I am going to unpause and watch the rest of the video

    I like the three screens the realism is uncanning. The VR is cool the idea that you feel more inside the car has to be intense. However it's still in it's infancy. But love watching the run pretty damn cool

      I had the exact same opinion about it still being in it's infancy until I got myself a Geverb G2 yesterday. started up Iracing on OpenXR and it blew all of my expectations out of the water, by miles even. It does not translate well to a UA-cam video, at all.

    Wow, looks like your driving is in fast forward in comparison to tripple screens.
    For me i find vr alot easier than tripples, i dont rely on memorizing breaking points as much. I just look for the apex and break when it feels natural too.
    I think that is the big difference between them, vr gives you a sense of speed.

      Wen I see it first time I tough the same 😂 I was thinking I cannot move my hands so quick... then I sync the brain onboard with the side camera and WTF 😂 makes so much difference for my perceptions that I can see how much more actually I pushing the car with confidence 😀

      @@chepilevski If you launch AC and you start racing in VR, then switch to desktop (with the headset still on) so you're basically seeing a floating 2D screen, the difference is like night and day. Depth perception is crucially important to driving fast. Perhaps this is less obvious on a circuit you're very familiar with, because you've memorised a lot of details, but on a fresh track/road the difference is huge.

    i am a very casual simrace player and always struggled with realistic simrace-games. VR gives you a much better feeling for the situation, for breaking points and such. I think VR makes you faster no matter how good you are. The downside is, that its pretty uncomfortable after a while.

    Hey man, I have dealt with the comfort on my Vive Pro pretty well. I cut a face cushion, so I kept only the side parts and the cheeks, and then I added a 2-inch section of soft cushion in the middle of the forehead. This leaves 2-inch or larger gaps on each side to let air flow through and to take some contact away from the face. I also have a vive n' chill fan to blow down from above, but it's mounted separately on a cushion I made. That cushion is 2X2X4.5 inch foam wrapped in cloth, with a piece of wooden ruler glued to the top and a velcro loop glued to that, which attaches it to the top strap. It takes some pressure and ideally pushes somewhat forward. The wood distributes pressure out a bit.
    I also put more firm-ish foam around the (rigid) headstrap, so it contacts my head more, theoretically so it can press less on the face for its stability. (The Vive Pro is really bad in this respect, especially in the back. But I also assume that having contact points on the ears, like having headphones attached to the headset, adds stability and removes pressure from face.)
    I even experimented with having a chinstrap running from the back of the headmount, and when I ratcheted it down, this allowed me to run with the Vive floating completely in front of my face with no contact. Interesting, but gets tiring on the chin. Might be worth checking out more.
    Hope these ideas help you.

With the VR i could just win easily... i thought the game was broken LOL. So, i dont know if you have tried this already but for sure its very interesting. Try to get a couple of your friends that do not have experience with sim racing. Put them on your rig and have them do a couple of laps at first with the monitors. Then let them do the same laps with the VR. Assuming that they dont get VR sickness (50% chance they will) you are going to be amazed. It's like they these people have been sim racing for years... I've noticed more eye fatigue with my 49 inch ultrawide vs VR, not sure on the long term damage though. Good thought.

      Erik , I’m wandering too mate ! I’m 43 years old and use VR last 3 years daily! On that age people start having problems but for me still 0 damage! I truly hope is fine !

    I really have motion sickness problem in VR(was on Oculus Rift-S). Have you never got the similar issue? if yes how to resolve?

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  4 роки тому +2

      It is possible to overcome this for sure Hui ! One of my friends who is not Sim racer but every week is messing here with my rig had huge problem in the beginning! But I start letting him drive only flat tracks like SPA for example! I asked him to stop every time he felt even slide amount of motion sickness for 5-10 min and then again! After few weeks he was able to drive the most aggressive tracks without feeling anything! Take a track like spa and drive 1-2 laps and stop for 10 minutes and do that for few days and your brain will adapt! Remember, never ever push yourself trough the motion sickness because your brain will create survival instinct and will get worse and worse! Just step by step !

      @@chepilevski That was very helpful insight! I see you are using Valve index. Is it the best on the market for sim racing? Or have you tried others such as Oculus Rift-S?

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  4 роки тому

      Hui Jin Rift S vs Index is like different generation! Index is the best right now overal ! Rift S is best value! If you can afford Index is the best from many points of view!

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  4 роки тому

      Hui Jin make sure you have fluid FPS, with the index you have 80-90-120-144 hz and whatever sim you gonna fire up first make sure you have the proper graphics options which can run as butter ! Then take it one step at the time and as I said never over push yourself over the limit! Let your brain understand is all ok with your system and in 0 time you will forget about those butterflies in your stomach!

      @@merrick51 honestly I never had 27 inch and I moved from 24.5 to 32 and I have to say I love it ! I guess if you go 32 you definitely need 1440p and in 27 you can get away in 1080p !

    Hey, I’m using Samsung Odyssey+ atm and it has 110 deg fov, which makes it feel a bit as if I’m sitting with a divers mask. The Index have 130 deg fov I think and I’m wondering what you think of it? Also in rally maybe fov isn’t as important as in road racing?

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  4 роки тому +1

      Index FOV is not exactly 130 ! It depends how close you can bring the lease to your eyes and in my case because of the shape of my face I can have probably 120 bud the big difference is on the vertical fov ware you don’t see the edges of the screen up and down and that really takes you of ,of that dive mask feeling! After I used my Index for 2 months I tested the Rift S and it felt very claustrophobic!
