Tip for cars with no handbrake (or of you like to make the stage harder): when you are on the entry of the hairpin turn HARD and use the brake like some sort of a turning system😁
Just drove this beast for the first time in ea wrc and it is the ultra hard mode of this game for me. But after 6-7 stages I started feeling it better and sometimes even finish a stage from the first try. Still, it requires full concentration.
Ah, the era of group B. Other drivers used to dislike having to follow a Quattro (especially the S1) through a non-tarmac special stage because of the way the Audi used to tear up the road surface. I think it was Stig Blomqvist who once said something along the lines of "these are the same stages, with the same rocks and the same trees, that we drove last year with 137 horsepower. But now we have 450 horsepower." Makes you think, doesn't it?
The reason behind the passion and admiration for certain cars and certain generations, is imperfections. Imperfections give cars their character, and the character is what draws us to them.
so I kinda wanna see you do the same in the 037. Because that would be MY favourite group B car. Also I distinctly remember you going on about how the Peugeot is your fav :D
not much, audi wasn't good it was just the first awd car, and it got to be first by stealing awd system from one of the first awd systems out there. I do admit, the Audi is one of my favourites too. and that turbo noise with all the wastegate chirps releasing that 21psi ish of boost when you come off it! just music.
It kinda amazes me how well sim racing scales. You've made it all the way to GT4 IRL, ya know? Sometimes it's easy to mistakenly think you must be over sim racing. But you've always said, the great thing about sim racing is that it lets you do things you can't do IRL. And yeah, you're in GT4 (hopefully GT3 at some point, right?!) but you're right, you will never get a chance to drive a Group B car in anger (among many others) and that's true for everyone, even Max Verstappen, ya know?
It's just kinda cool how, no matter how far you get, there's always something fun to sim 😊
in groub b they used left foor brake and still stay on the throttle a bit to help with turbo lag
The s1 quattro as described by Walter Rohrl "a car so fast that your brain cant keep up"
5:27 Loved the "radio" effect on your voice here!
from finishing the quali for the 24h to going back to the shed and playing wrc within hours. spectacular lad, very dedicated
Lets be real Jimmy, you're already smashing around in a GT4, GT3 doesn't looks very far away from there. Hope to see you in one!
HEY I'M SCROLLSNUMBERONE, THE DUDE IN 6TH ON THE LEADERBOARDS. Congrats on beating me jimmer!!!
Jimmer says "This Audi Quattro S1 is the coolest rally car EVER!!!"
Rally Buddha he say "Have you not heard of the Hillman Avenger??"
Exactly brother. Best car in the game.
The editing on this video, chef's kiss!
Glad I’m not the only one who had to pause the video 20 seconds in to interject
NO CHANCE AT GT3?! Jimmer, you’re DREAMING if you think you won’t be in a GT3 car within the next 3 years
A lot of the Quattros have been modified for handbrake usage nowadays.. Even Röhrls original S1 E2 has one now.
I love racing on Dirt rally 2.0 to this day. Hop into my rig and slap a vr headset on and start slinging my 911 around those corners (with telepathic rear engine prediction correction) and after a tough stage I literally have to go walk around and get some water because my face is covered in sweat from working the wheel so fast
0:53 Jimmy did a decent pronunciation of the stage name only coming off at the last couple vowels.
Jimmy reminds me so much of Richard Hammond when I see him driving sim. Something about how much fun he's having \
In your next video, can you please drive a group b rwd car in the snow. Its tons of fun!
Tip for cars with no handbrake (or of you like to make the stage harder): when you are on the entry of the hairpin turn HARD and use the brake like some sort of a turning system😁
That foot cam explains to me why my legs and ankles get tired after 30 minutes of playing a rally game.
Just drove this beast for the first time in ea wrc and it is the ultra hard mode of this game for me. But after 6-7 stages I started feeling it better and sometimes even finish a stage from the first try. Still, it requires full concentration.
Nice job on the qualify this weekend. 2nd in class and 42nd overall.
Just went through this stage in Dirt Rally and I cannot explain how mad it made me
Ah, the era of group B.
The Mythbusters cement truck explosion after he said add effects made me laugh.
Jimmy: this a bit of it of a treat...
The very next corner: tree?
Closest you could get to this is taking a ride with Stig Blomqvist through the rally stage at Goodwood
I kinda love this game the sounds the feel from the cars even on controller is brilliant dirt rally 3
I was not expecting the "estoy cansado jefe". I craked 😂
Glad to see EA WRC again! ❤
so I kinda wanna see you do the same in the 037. Because that would be MY favourite group B car. Also I distinctly remember you going on about how the Peugeot is your fav :D
We've gone beyond Doorbent.
Jimmy Doorgone
Love the use of the samir video, perfect timing
Only came across your channel such great content and enjoyable to watch
Jimmy and a turbo box, it just feels right
I wonder how much slower the 037 really was with 2wd
Depends on the event, it was faster on twisty tarmac like Corsica at time, and was decent in Kenya.
@@AmbientMike and that'd I'd like to see :)
@@fillman86 theres a bit of good historic footage but hard to follow full rallies from the early group B days. when AWD was a bit more privative.
not much, audi wasn't good it was just the first awd car, and it got to be first by stealing awd system from one of the first awd systems out there. Audis to this day that use this system have absolutely horrendous weight distribution and are terrible at turning thanks to the poorly engineered awd system
"What is Sim Racing to You ? to me, it is a way to get as close as possible to the cars I've no hoping hell in driving".
--> push the pedals with socks.
Taking on this in the white sports socks is peak Jimmy
Watching your feet is fascinating, here I am in my plimsolls because driving like a granny on my G29 pedals, and you're heel and toeing in your socks. Madness.
Ringmeister had a week of the WRX Cars. I ended up winning two of those races and having a blast in a couple others.
Great Vid now im goin to Give it a Go on my New DD+. Awesome Driving Great Footwork Cheers!!!
12:15 Nice! Great Aircodynamics without doors and better sound. Why do we need doors anyway :D
