  • The Passive Simucube throttle pedal is not bad at all but can't be compared to the Active pedals which will change the future of sim racing and this tech needs our support!

    I built a DIY brake version of these for around $350-400. It is a awesome pedal and I could never go back to a normal loadcell pedal. Being able to adjust the pedal through software and setup ABS or TC is awesome and easy. The one I made uses Simhub for the software which almost everyone should be using IMO. I wouldn't spend $2300 for one pedal and would wait for others to copy the idea for a cheaper option or build one DIY. I'm now in the middle of building a throttle also and have thought of making a guide for others.

    I have one active and the normal throttle since last August... it wad hard on my bank account at first... but after almost a year I can't go back. So I this really helps me to be more consistent, being able to trail brake and probably just feel more of the car. Do these let you change the pedal mapping/role in software? As in, could you have clutch, brake, throttle pedals for some cars, then load a different software profile and have brake, clutch, throttle (or brake, unmapped, throttle; the middle pedal wouldn't actually be used in that mode)? Being able to do that would make the price a little easier to swallow, as physically swapping brake/clutch is such a pain normally that we end up compromising between the two driving styles. Having the brake pedal too far to the right can hurt my left knee at times when I'm doing left-foot braking, but I want to keep the option of using a clutch and right-foot braking as well.

    • @chepilevski
      @chepilevski  Місяць тому +1

      That is possible and is one way I use them as I have same knee problem when brake is too much to the left!

    I actually agree now, I didn't realize how good they wrre. What I find funny is everyone used to go ahh I want 0 travel now we see things that have a bit of travel are nice for trail braking. But these are on another level that's for sure lol.
    I will say I love these pedals but I don't need to active ffb on them. It's cool but it's reslly not needed not until it's filled in to let us know mot keep on vibrating it's to much at times imo. Because the signals in the brain get distracted.
    But I believe the feel the travel the readings everything on these pedals are amazing either way. Worth it just for the way it's built and works.

    These are so impressive and I’m so glad simucube made them. I understand the amount of R&D that went into making these must have been enormous and they want a return on their investment. I can’t help but feel like they would make the money back quicker if these were $1000 per pedal as opposed to $2500. It would bring them into the realm of affordability to buy at least one for the brake pedal. At the current price point you can basically only afford them if you are rich enough to be a real racing driver.
    If they were $1000 instead of $2500 they would sell 10x more and make the R&D money back faster than at this ridiculous price point. They are very high quality and nicely made but they can’t cost more than $500 each to make in time and materials.
