if the spacer is put behind instead of in the front where the space is at, then those bolts wouldn't be long enough because you just created more of a space where its not needed plus you still have that gap in the front
When I did mine it actually told me to jack up the front in the middle to install does it really make a difference I figured it was because it would let the car flex then when you installed and put it down it would still be at full flex at all times
Would be nice to see before and after results in stiffness. I know my bbk subframe connectors made a night and day difference on my fox, I've been wondering if this is as good of an upgrade.
cause, carb....i mean they could but youd have to have a way different air cleaner. and that problem gets worse when you add an aftermarket intake that shifts the carb forward even more so the air cleaner would hit the front bar
What are my options if I have a 79-85 mustang?? In this case a 79 I have a strut bar I haven't installed yet and have no idea what brand it is seems to fit though
Know what you mean but in this case i was more than happy to do it, this thing should have come stock from the factory, its a great part to install, mandatory in a convertible,i do prefer the maximum one because its more solid where it installs.
@@dntlss I will be purchasing a Strut tower brace as well as having full length weld on sub frame connectors on my 93 Vert. Tired of the soft pretzel effect lol. But if im going to have to drill into my pristine sheet metal than I want the best product. My vert hasn't been molested its been untouched on the engine bay. Maybe a top end touch up from passed owner but its not all hacked up like some drag racer owners do to them.
I am just taking a gas that that is not a spacer plate at all it's a reinforcement plate for the other side of the sheet metal on the inside of the cowl because there is no strength in that sheet metal? Just saying? But it would make more sense if it was reinforcement on the other side of the sheet metal my guess?
I thought the metal plate would go behind the fire wall to help stiffen it.

Planning on doing the subframe connectors.
Why would these not fit a 1979 to 1985?

You're the best bill!
How much difference would it make on an LX convertible?
Great install bill

Joe Septien i have an 84 stang and found a kenny brown strut tower brace on Craigslist. it bolted up just same as this one here, no problem.
We dont need to reinforce the strut towers for this?
Am I the only one that cringed at the thought of drilling my original sheet metal?

Anyone know the hardware kit bolt sizes
how'd you work around the wheel well covers that's inside the fender?
The covers don't go over the spot where the holes are drilled
Sorry to reiterate my last comment I am just taking a guess that's not a spacer plate
How would it work on with supercharger
It won’t

well how would you close the gap in the front? thats the issue not so much for sheet metal reinforcement
