Why do you recommend the KSC75s over the other for gaming specifically? I also heard using Yaxi Pads+Headband like from the KPH40 improve bass due to clamp and the new pads. Have you tried that?
When I talk about gaming, I’m talking about first person shooters, (I’m actually pro/semi-pro) the reason it is better is because the stage type is in front and it makes it easier for your brain to make fast decisions based on sound location (stage and imaging). Toward the end of the video I actually try out that you are talking about. I have tried yaxi pads too. It’s a relatively minor change but it feels less cheap.
@@nyvoreviews5443 Thanks for the answer and that's cool! What game do you compete in? I play Valorant casually so i was wondering about the gaming aspect. I asked because I heard someone say that they thought the soundstage on the PPs were wider. Lastly, what headphones do you use when you compete? I know it doesn't really make a difference in gameplay but I'm curious
@@nocomplyyy everyone says it doesn’t make a difference but I disagree, for me it certainly does. Most people that say it doesn’t make a difference.. either aren’t pros, or aren’t real audiophiles (or just don’t have the ear for it)…… but it is one of the least important things to worry about. Frame rate is always more important. I was pro at Doom. Semi-pro at quake. My main headphone I would use for gaming was Susvara, it’s really good. Hd800 are also good but not as good.
Never tried any but Ksc75s and legendary Portapros. Prefer the latter, but EQ'd to remove the veil over the awesome hidden treble. Kramer mod too but EQ is more critical. One of these days I'll pop the kph40s into the ol checkout.
I just picked up the KSC75 for first time this week and love them. Stage is definitely, wider, less bass but a bit more detail. Overall for daily listening the KPH40's are still my favorite.... to my ear the most balanced. But I will say, more than any of these, Yaxi pads make teh large diff on the 40s - slightly more foam than stock and it pulls the driver further off the ear which increased the stage A LOT and improves lets the bass breathe. Really, everything gets better. Get's even better (for both IMO) if you swap drivers between KSC75 and KPH40.
Amazing video on Koss head phones . Very precise and helpful. I also like ksc75 , but have you tried ktxpro1 which is also titanium coated like ksc75 . I also felt the ksc30i ( non clear model ) a bit muddy , but Grado pad mod made it sound better with increased sound staging with increase in audio volume. I need your suggestion. Can you suggest me a good portable DAC that is non Bluetooth. I tried btr5 but did not like blue tooth version. Appreciate your help. I like the apple dongle but wanted to try something better.
@@nyvoreviews5443 sure will check them out. By the way what’s your take on Koss porta pro. Please let me know if the ktxpro1 is any different from ksc75 ? happy New year to you !

DACs dont really matter for SQ differences, you only buy them for either convenience, amplification, or features. Which is why a $8 Apple dongle should be more than enough if you're powering sensitive headphones.
I really want to buy kph40, but I'm still searching an extended mic cable so that I can use it for gaming. Do you know which mic cable I should buy? it's difficult to find one in my country since the jack size are different (one 2,5" and the other 3,5")
@@nyvoreviews5443 the default detach cable within the package is not in-line microphone, right? Also much better than most gaming headsets.
So KSC75s for stage, 30is for details and 40s for bass.
Put the 75s on the 40's band and 40s on the 75's clips and they both get better (closer to one another).
Love it! #HearingIsBelieving

So the kph30i clear variant is best as it doesn't have any dampening? I would've thought they would all be the same.
It is different
You can remove the little foam on the inside pretty easily if you get a non-clear version. Takes like 5 minutes.

I hate portapros and I don’t like EQing because I switch headphones and sources too often.

I would recommend starting by checking out my dongle dac/amp video and both of my btr7 videos.

JBL530, phasetech pc1.5, LS50wireless2, Martin logan ascent II, Rel t9i’s.

How they compare on laptop or smartphone 40 and 30i? They 20e should be working perfect without amp
40 benefits a lot from an amp. I would say 40 needs an amp. 30 can run, it also improves but it starts off sounding decent without an amp.
