You are the ONLY person who actually shows the fan rotation which is exactly what I wanted to know. I wanted to know how much free play the fan should have when it is cold and no other video actually shows it. All other video's just say that there should be resistance but dont show how much resistance. Thank you. I finally realised that my fan clutch is stuck and does not allow the engine to get to operating temperature. Thank you
I have owned those wrenches since your video on them! They have saved so much blood, cussing and screaming! 😅 I love them and think of you every time I use them! So glad you shared them with us!
[From the UK, May 2023] As ever sir - thank you for these excellent, detailed walk-throughs - including all the useful context & background knowledge. You're helping me to keep my 2008 120-Series Landcruiser on the road (1KD-FTV). Arif
I'm using a flex fan from LCEngineering for my 2rz turbo, been over 10 years and it never needed replacement or broken down. They are around 100ish. Was noisy when new, but quieted out after a few months.
Great video. Now I can check my cooling fan clutch on my old toyota pickups. Also, if I'm overheating it could be the cause. I noticed that the coolant level was close to being too low. Maybe topping it off would be a good idea.
I thank you so much I have A05 Sequoia and I do believe the clutch is weak because it just doesn't cool like it used to. When i'm in stop and go traffic or through a drive through.
I have a 96 Tacoma, that I bought new in late 95. My engine fan is engaged at all times. No check engine light is on. I live in upstate NY and even when it is 20 below zero and engine is cold, fan is engaged. Is it time for me to replace the clutch?
My 3rd gen 4runner is overheating when offroading in sand when heavy on the throttle but street and hard pack dirt its fine. I have a feeling this may be my culprit
@Toyota Maintenance would this be the same issue when the fan clutch does the opposite? I have a 22R-E and the fan never seems to decouple from the engine.

Basically, what’s the torque?Fan to Clutch…?
Clutch to Pulley…?
Thanks.. Great day.

Had two of these fail on a 74 and 76 Cutlass within a few years of each other. never gave them a second thought before the first one failed
Hi I replace the fan clutch and fan blade on a 05 Colorado but when I drive and I accelerate I hear this jet sound air is this normal?

Is the fan for that engine direct drive or clutch coupled? Some don't have clutches and spin as the engine spins
Question: Why does the fan even need a clutch as opposed to bring direct drive?
How many years does a fan clutch usually last?
Can it cause a transmission to rise in temp but the motor stays at temp
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Is it normal for some fans to be on all the time??
@Toyota Maintenance- where have you been?!? Hope all is well with you!
He’s posted like 6-7 videos in the past 7 days , 3 in the last day. Probably not getting the alerts. Typical for UA-cam.

After the third spin you’re just play with it. Ha!
He could go off road in a CA desert with a dead smart phone battery and DIE.
I would probably use a bit blue lhreadlock on some of those bolts I have an ocd when it comes to torque and threadlock. Overkill I'm sure
👍👍👍
why did you not show what happens when you start the engine with a brand new clutch, you missed an opportunity here.
