FansToys is a step up from the Hasbro/Takara Grimlock, but for my money I went with even better in the GigaPower Gigasaur. The scale is PERFECT.
Grinder is fantastic! I like him more than Superator too! My fingers are crossed for 2.0 DiBots.🦖🦾

I'd argue that the Takara Gridlock is a bit more accurate but......size matters lol
Went with Gigapower and they're my favorite Transformers.

Fanstoys Grimlock needs to go against GigaPower Grimlock, period.
CyborgNS6NL Totally agree. I have the Gigapower one and absolutely love it. FT is nice but just doesn’t have the same shelf presence as Gigapower. It’s also really expensive now if you didn’t grab it when it was released.

This has always been a no contest. Grimlock is my favorite character but mp08 was so horrible that I had to figure out a way to sell him. FT on the other hand is a dream come true. Great comparison btw.

I almost feel bad for Takara over MP Grimlock being outshined by third-party versions. He's just so small and cute, lol! Great review as always. I have FT Grinder and love him, though I kinda wish his chest wasn't so much wider than his waist. 😅

The cost is not even close. Yes THIS version of the TT might have been $200 but you could have got the Toys R Us version for like $65 new in box like I did. There isnt a person on the planet that got FansToys Grimlock for $65. It should be much better for triple the price MSRP. Its not 3x better though, no freakin way. Grindors head in T-Rex mode is way off too. That alone should have given the nod to TT on the Alt mode. Also, what the hell is giving the nod to FT on the engineering? Grindor clearly borrowed heavily from original G1 and MP Grimlock. I don't get it. This could have easily been 6-6.

@@jonathanembry4688 no kidding. You didnt read what I wrote though. You can get Masterpiece Grimlock for under $100, while FT Grinder is much harder to find and its going to almost certainly be over $500.
It should be WAY better than Masterpiece for that price, but it is not all that much better at all.
My problem with this video is that they got a tie for price when I give the decisive win on price to Masterpiece.
The chrome version of superator looks so much better than this one. The head is night and day different mold
I do like FT version but the dino head looks weird, Takaras is much better there, just wish it was a bit bigger. I've got the takara version btw 👍
Ft put out a new more toon head afterwards that I have since purchased and installed. I like it much better
Love these VS videos. I'd normally rather buy Takara figures instead of 3rd party ones but in this case i'd go with Fanstoys, mostly because of the scale and because mp8's shoulders are too big.

I love fanstoys! But somethings off about this figure. I think is the way the shoulder are so separated from the body. Than there's the waist. It looks too small, I think the proportions are of. Which is weird for Fanstoys. As always great review!
Supra Sport Agreed. But Gigapower took care of that. Never like the Dino head even tho you can buy a separate piece via g1 $$. I’ll say again- Gigapower took care of that. 😀
@@walkers198 yeah, definitely agree. I am usually one of those people who love fanstoys. Am a Fanstoys Fanboy forsure! But Ive seen video comparisons and the Gigapower definitely blows the Fanstoys away! I know everything is a matter of preference. But gosh! I think sometimes people give the Fanstoys the win just by default. It's weird! I mean don't get me wrong 90% of the time fanstoys is the best. But not all the time. Like for example gigapower dinobots imo are superior in just about every way. I know people say oh! There too big! Am like no there Not! Perfect scale! G1 was all over the place in terms of scale. But just use common sense, the Dinobots were always portrayed as being huge towering bots. They're supposed to do battle with Devastator.
Supra Sport I still, if can afford one day, would buy Ft Sludge. He’s spot on G1 accurate. The only FT Dino I would own

@@TMReviews well I mean, it's all a matter of preference. Personally I think you will like the Fanstoys better. I think you're more geared towards fanstoys which is okay! Bobby is the same way. I think you said you like the FT Willis over Mp-47 Hound, and the FT Reflector ove the Maketoys Reflector. I definitely agree with you on the Ft insecticons over the Badcubes. But it really is whatever you like. I know you prefer the Goose over the maketoys Thrust or Dirge. Personally I love fanstoys but, and 90% of the time they are usually the best. But I'll be really unfair to say they are always the best.
IIRC, the Takara has ball joints for shoulders compared to the FT ratchets.

The score is flawed... Based on the gimmicks with the eyes, the symbol revel and the tail wag Takara should score higher... Also the dino head pegs into his back.... Fans toys is better, particularly I size... But you're off here
Sometimes takara can be overrated, and your paying for a name. I knew fan toys was gonna edge out. I just don't wanna pay those prices. Fan toys all the way!

Mp grimlock is more of a chugster piece then anything., Fanstoys look like a OS K.O of the takaara, with a out of proportion head.
He used the mind control thingy to give birth to the technobots. He basically transferred his recently obtained super intelligence into them and returned to being as smart (or dumb) as he was from the start of the show.
