While I'll definitely not disagree that the GP Snarl looks jawdroppingly well painted, there are just too many quirks I'm not too keen on with it... The forelegs left sitting on the outside of his bot legs just feels unfinished when you compare it to Sever, and his gigantic lack of space between his shoulders and forearms as well as a lack of an actual wrist gives him this peculiar look in the arms... His head also doesn't really stand out too well due to the color.
just to note the panels that came with Stomp for replacing the Fantoys Sever are already present on the Sever reissue. So you don't need the ones with Sludge if getting the Sever reissue, only when getting the original Sever issue.
I wish I never started to collect G1 dinobot toys... I was happily catching up collecting fanstoys dinobots with the recent reissues, but then I got a vintage G1 toy Snarl and started seeing just how close it was to the bot mode of GP. Now I also started to collect the GP versions.. my wallet is empty.. and I'm flat broke LOL
I'm glad you didn't change the format, I watch your vs for your opinion specifically. I think those Gigapower dinobots look really nice, but for my collection the Fans Toys works much better, but if I could afford two versions I would love to pick up a set of the Gigapower. Thank-you for the vs, I know they must take quite a bit of time to put together.

Thanks for keeping the scores! Sometimes you don't know what you think about a specific feature until you separate the from the rest, especially if you are considering to buy a toy and don't have it
1) They’re both g1 accurate in their own ways. Fanstoys is accurate to the show with the tucked away stego legs and red crotch. Gigapower is more accurate to the g1 toy with the exposed stego legs and gray crotch. 2) they’re both accurately scaled to mp10 or mp44 depending on the episode you watch. G1 was never consistent with their robot sizes. Some episodes, the dinobots tower over optimus and some, he is only half a head shorter. 3) the paint-job is certainly more premium on gigapower, but the flat colors and lack of paint on fanstoys is more g1 accurate. 4) objectively, they both do certain things better than others. Fanstoys’s ratchet joints have smaller incremental clicks which allow for a more precise range of motion. But gigapower cleans up the back kibble a lot better since it does not have the extra red flaps hanging off the back like fanstoys. 5) get what you want, because most of this comes down to personal preference. Whether you want a g1 show accurate figure or a g1 toy accurate figure, you can’t go wrong with any of these.

Does anyone know if Gigapower will release “X” Weathered versions of Grimlock, Sludge, and Swoop? It seems they’ve previously only released “X” Weathered versions of Slag and Snarl.
GigaPower is for sure NO slouch! That being said, they are a little more stylized as far as the paint and details. I have to say that for Fans Toys version to be almost 6 years old..thats pretty damn good! My money is and already was on FansToys. Had to get 2 of each, 1 for Alt, 1 for robot👍🏻
Really cool vs 📹🙏 tm, I went with the Fanstoys because of the lower half of all their dinobots they are clean no dino limbs hanging out same with scoria, and with Grimlock the inside of the legs close and that looks awesome, giggapowers version of snarl has alot of kibble in the back of the legs and their Grimlock it doesn't close its all open like takara, I guess its whatever the buyer sees as toon accurate, 4 me its Fanstoys...Fanstoys 1-Giggapower 0..😬🤣🤣👍

Right on the money with the comparisons. It is gigapower's best work for the dinobots after all. I give sculpt to fans toys though bec. the proportions are better and with the updated face from grinder it just looks better. Overall I pick fanstoys. The gigapower one has a very enjoyable transformation and a great shelf presence.
Although its FansToys...... No BS here, I LOVE THE GIGAPOWER GIGASAURs. They WIN HANDS DOWN. Now if GG went in and did the colored G2 versions, I could see my rubber arm being twisted into buying another set just cause......... I can see my wife now.........
The Fanstoys looks more toon accurate. Also a lot cleaner bot mode. The legs of the other one look to clunky. The only plus side is the size. If only the Fanstoys were as big as the Gigapower ones they'd be on the money.
I like GP Grimlock and Swoop more than FT, but here with Snarl at least between these two versions, FT edges out GP for me, mostly due to proportions and face sculpt..otherwise close call.
Those paint apps on the giga power are a little busy! Fantoys is on the money. I'm sounding bias, but they are a good company. You'll spend more but it's worth it. Thanks TM.
The giga is big mess of colors. The Dino Mode looks like a cross between a croc and a turtle. The sculpt is to much detail that it tries to hard to get attention. The construction felt awful. It’s the reason I got rid of it. Ft. Kept it simple to the point that if they reissued it. Again. Chromed and enhanced colors. On that same mold. My preorder is ready. If they ever decide to re released them. I’m sure people will to. I now want a second set of ft dibots. Wish now I got the extra colors for Dino mode. Or vice versa. Though bigger. To me didn’t make it better. If they oversized that ft one. Awesome. To sum it up. The ft looks like a fine suit. The giga looks like a clown outfit.

Awesome comparison Sony! I have both versions, and display Fanstoys as my G1 cartoon ones, and Giga as my G1 Toy versions.

Wish you had compared the v2.0 chrome Guttur to the fans toys. As the 2.0 Guttur has INSANE well toleranced joints.
Fantoys is a toy.... Gigapower is a collector's item, a piece of art.
