"Lady" is a song written by Lionel Richie and first recorded by American country music artist Kenny Rogers. It was released in September 1980 on the album Kenny Rogers' Greatest Hits. It is listed at number 60 on Billboard's "Hot 100 All-Time Top Songs"
Love Kenny Rogers music from when he was with the First Edition (60's-70's) to his solo career. He was a great story teller in many of his songs like "Coward Of The County" & "The Gambler". He had so many hits "Lucille", "Through the Years", "She Believes In Me", "You & I" (written by the Bee Gees) etc. He did a lot of duets such as with Kim Carnes "Don't Fall In Love With A Dreamer", with Sheena Easton "We've Got Tonight" & with Dolly Parton "Islands In The Stream". He also did quite a few duets with Dottie West.
Yes, this was a huge wedding/first dance song. Kenny had such a smooth yet rough voice. Most of his hits were country, but he did have a lot of mainstream success with his duets (that had a hint of country in them). "Islands in the Stream" w/Dolly was HUGE. His earlier bands saw limited success with minor hits, but he persevered and became a hot commodity. He even opened a chain of restaurants, "Kenny Rogers' Roaster." I think most of them are gone these days.
Perhaps one of the greatest songs of love and remembrance is Alan Jackson's "Remember When". Jackson is a country music superstar but you might be surprised by his style. If you want to see his lighter side check out "It's Five O'clock Somewhere" featuring Jimmy Buffett. For more country love songs, check out Brad Paisley "She's Everything" and Garth Brooks "The Dance".
We had the pleasure to see Kenny LIVE in his final tour; just months before his passing. I had been listening to Kenny's music for decades and it was a complete thrill to get to see him in person. The only thing that could have made it better would be if we had splurged and got the meet-n-greet tickets for that show. BIG REGRETS
Thank you so very much young lady for playing this very romantic love song that to me it was everything but funny. Have a Blessed Day. Adios. PS: Please play "Me and Little Andy" by Dolly Parton for me. I really would appreciate it very much. I really would. Thank you.
I recommend making a reaction to one of the best vocalists in the world. Meet Diana Ankudinova! Diana has the title - Queen of Goosebumps. Challenge yourself, can you resist the charm of her voice? Comments under the video from the last 24 hours: "What perfection, it's out of this world, not even to explain how extraordinary her voice is." "It is definitely the most beautiful voice in the world❤" 1) super unique voice (dramatic contralto with rich polyphonic overtones); 2) the most complex vocal techniques, a bewitching voice; 3) Diana sings in 6 languages : English, French, Russian, German, Spanish, Arabic and any musical genre; 4) incredible charisma, artistry and living of any song; 5) a vocal range of 4 octaves; 6) a large army of fans around the world; 7) an independent artist, without producers and labels, only with the support of fans and reactors like you; 8) more than 20 thousand reactions (all collected in my playlists). The incredible fate of a girl found with a broken collarbone at a bus stop and ended up in an orphanage.

You have got to be the cutest sweetest lady I’ve seen on any platform!! Your energy is infectious and you are as cute as button. Congratulations to whoever finds you. On a serious note though, I have really enjoyed a few videos so far and gave an immediate follow. I’m sure I’ll spend some time this weekend binging your videos. Great content!
Lionel Richie wrote this. There’s a great video of Kenny telling the backstory, and the two of them singing it together. My mother LOVED Kenny, and now I totally get it. lol
"know when to hold'em/know when to fold'em" - "The Gambler". There's some duet songs I like: "Don't Fall in love with a Dreamer", "We've Got Tonight", "All I Ever Need Is You", "Every Time Two Fools Collide"... To be fair, nobody hears all music, even within their own country - and if there are songs outside of their country the percentage drops significantly. Ironically, the lead singer of Nightwish (Finnish symphonic metal band) was unknown in her country (The Netherlands) where she was born/raised. You should listen to "Ghost Love Score" - it's never what people think of when you say "metal", and her voice is like an angel. Hear it in the Wacken Open Air 2013 concert at the Wacken festival. The concert had over 82,000 attendees.
Wow. You have a wonderful personality! I'm a reaction addict, and I watch reactions EVERY single night, and I follow a lot of reactors. So it's not that easy for a new one to catch my attention. But you did. And your pup is gorgeous!!!
You need to watch him sing it with Lionel Richie who wrote the song for him. It's a beautiful duet between two awesome fkn artists and great friends as well.
Hi there girl...... This is my first visit to your channel. Warning Kenny was a lady killer.... Just listen to them scream! Can you believe Lionel wrote a song this good and gave it to Kenny?? I can see that Kenny has YOU under his spell..........Well did you LOVE it????? Kenny started in this business in the 1960's. I want to suggest you locate and review Kenny'swork with Dolly Parton. Yes that Dolly! Enjoy
Lionel wrote the song for his band, The Commodores, but his band mates voted not to record it, so he thought of Kenny Rogers having the perfect voice for it. He sought out Kenny and produced the record with him. In later years he and Kenny sang it as a duet live on stage, an amazing rendition you must go see. They were really good friends for the rest of Kenny's life.
Can you react to Rock me Now by a Japanese group called Vow Wow. They were just breaking into the scene in the late 80's early 90's then seemed to had disappeared. It's a great but forgotten Rock Anthem from the day
I think you’d like Blake Shelton “God’s Country” 👍💕👍💕👍 You were recommended by another reactor, although I had already found you and subscribed. Just thought you’d like to know that are making waves and others are noticing. Keep it up! The other reactor was rn2country… 😁
Your dog is Leroy? That's my middle name. My dad tried to have my middle name be Le Roy, which means The King, but he wrote it down, and when the hospital staff read it they thought it was Leroy.
From the 70's onwards Kenny and Barry White are responsible for at least 5% of the worlds population. Also the only reasons why a suave guy like Kenny hasn't taken your woman... 1) he doesn't want her 2) he's taken pity on you
Does this song bring back memories for you?
My ex wife and I had our first dance to this song.
Kenny Rodgers wasn't just country. Guy did everything from jazz to folk to psychedelic rock.
Thanks for the info!

My Mom is 94 and that was her favorite song in 1980. As a child, I heard this over and over again. Great reaction my dear

I think this came out around 1980 or so. But, I do know that the Song-Writer was Lionel Ritchie. This was a Big one for Kenny, RIP

Good call. It was written by Lionel Ritchie, so definitely an R and B vibe. Check out Islands in the Stream. He sings with Dolly Parton.
This and his song Through the Years were big wedding songs
My fav's from Kenny Rogers are "You Decorated My Life" ('78) and "Love The World Away" ('80..from the Urban Cowboy soundtrack).
Hey, we're here for the reaction to the song. ONLY!!!
I hope you have or find someone who will make you feel this way.
This is probably the best introduction to Kenny Rogers you could ever have. Hello to Leroy from my little boy Bimbo.
The Devil went down to Georgia, Charlie Daniel's band. Free Bird 1977 live in Oakland, Lynard Skynyrd
VOLLDEPP!!!
you should react to Kenny and Lionel Ritchie singing this together.
Leroy shares the same hair colour as Kenny Rogers
Check out Kenny Rogers' "Lucille" and his duet with Dolly Parton "Islands In the Stream". This song was written by Lionel Richie in 1980.

1980 was the year it came out

You thought you were going to be aloof, and he captured you. lol
I just dropped in to see what condition my condition was in
A bit more Country. Try Alabama, Feels so Right.
Guys be warned, he'll sing the panties right off your girlfriends..😂
Your dog is Leroy? That's my middle name. My dad tried to have my middle name be Le Roy, which means The King, but he wrote it down, and when the hospital staff read it they thought it was Leroy.
Yes.
Please listen to Tyler Childers "Nose on the Grindstone".. from "Our Vinyl Sessions"... you will not be disappointed!
From the 70's onwards Kenny and Barry White are responsible for at least 5% of the worlds population. Also the only reasons why a suave guy like Kenny hasn't taken your woman...
1) he doesn't want her
2) he's taken pity on you
You should've listened to what he said in the beginning before singing then you'll know why its not country
The reason it sounds like R&B is because it was written by the one and only Lionel Richie
That song is definitely a panty dropper.
LOL
This is a panty dropper. LOL
Very good, however, please take the bow out of the dog's hair -- it's not fair to the animal.
