- The first A319neo equipped with CFM International LEAP-1A engines completed its maiden flight on 31 March 2017, with the aircraft taking off from Hamburg-Finkenwerder Airport in Germany and landing five hours later at Airbus’ Toulouse, France headquarters location.

I love both Airbus and Boeing. Who doesn't love a good duopoly.
But I like airbus more than Boeing
Airbus is far away futuristic than boeing
737 max is worse
But now the duopoly is made of a hard-working manufacturer and a money-hungry manufacturer. But we still need Boeing with Airbus because we don't want a monopoly.
Love both companies, even if one is in a bit of a situation.
I would love to see an a318neo.

Ajinkya Pathania A318 was designed for large users of the A320fam in place of E and C jets because of fleet commonality. Pilots can fly the entire A320 fam plus less maintenance costs

Although this plane is efficient, sadly it is is replaced by the A220-300 which is also more fuel efficient than the 737 MAX 7. A220-300 has more orders than the Boeing model and A319neo. But A220-100 has an uncertain future. Even though it will get some orders, Embraer E195E2 offering is better because it’s a stretch compared to baseline model.
@@aviationloverexpert7435 your right, but the a220 is much more sucessfull than the E2-jet, which is efficient too. But a220 has more range and seats, fly very clean and is flexible too

But A220-300 is is much more efficient hands down. So A319neo like the Max 7 stands no chance against it

Gamer217 that's actually coincidence I think, there's no reason they would purposely do it at the same time because the two aircraft are not at all rivals and don't compete with each other. and Airbus and Boeing might both be aircraft manufacturers but they aren't rivals as much als Coca Cola and Pepsi or Burger King and McDonald's.
Midas, i know, but they are 89% rivals,these planes aren't the same, but I find it funny that 2 major planes from rivalry similar companies take off in to the skies, also, Boeing and Airbus are competing for the most planes, so i see a clear coincidence in this, two major planes from rival companies release their new product on the same day.
Boeing and Airbus even congratulated each other on that day for their maiden flight on twitter.

As soon as Rolls Royce delivers the engines. The A330neo was supposed to fly at the end of 2016 already, but RR is currently behind in production. Should be within the next one or two months.

The Number of sales are terrible compared to A320 Neo or its predecessor…….
The A220-300 is way to simalar to the A319neo, and the A220 is much cheaper, so the only reason why an airline would buy this is if they already have other A320 family airlines.
The a220 is cheaper and if airlines REALLY want fleet commonality, then they could use a320n at 75% capacity

I think it's for refueling while flight
It is part of the monitor systems on the new plane and gives the engineers better static pressure data than the sensors in the plane which is affected by turbulence around the fuselarge. It may also include other measuring instruments from time to time.
