    Thank you so much for doing these videos. I can't tell you how helpful they are for me. One of the things I am most interested in is seeing how you attach the different trims. Your finish is darling.

    I am loving that, beautiful!!! While watching you do that, I thought wow, I don’t sew but I have that tape from paper crafting. I am going to do that and put is on sticky board, felt on back and hot glue a frame backer on it and display in our home. I have never added fabric to the cross stitch piece itself. I know, light bulb just went off in my head🤪 I have seen lots of pillows videos but you explain it the best!!! Thanks lady ❤

    As a quilter we have learned that if you cut one straight edge you can use your see through quilting ruler to line up a line on the ruler with the cut line to get a a real good 90 degree angle. Hope that help in the future. 😄

    Thanks for another great tutorial. I also loved you turkey tea light and I happened upon one at our local dollar store. Of course I grabbed it right up! I didn’t have a turkey pattern so I stitched a pumpkin instead and it turned out super cute. Thanks for the inspiration! I gifted it to a friend and went back to the store so I could stitch one for myself.

    What a very clear demonstration showing the most efficient way to put the "front panel" together. Can I suggest also adding the hanging loop at this stage? Before stitching front to back, lay front panel face up, double a length of ribbon into loop so that it lies over the front with raw edges at the top, overlapped and extending a little further than the raw edge. Machine or hand stitch securely just above the seam line. When joining the 2 panels fold the looped ribbon so that it doesn't get caught in the side seams! When you turn out the pillow all will be clear - I hope!! 🤗

      Hi Barbara! When I add a loop for hanging I do it exactly that way! 😁

    You're so smart to put all of the trim onto the front panel before stitching into a full pillow. Naturally, I have done everything the hard way and waited until the pillows are stuffed before adding buttons. 😄 Another nice tutorial, Helen!

    1/4" wonder tape is an alternative to the stitch witchery. I bought it via Amazon. Dritz makes that width in a smaller amt package.
    I used to make & sell doll clothes so I bought this tape in bulk. It was wonderful to secure thin velcro, zippers or ribbon, ric rac. before sewing. Rinses out with water - I typically only rinsed it on the long bands of trim.
    Tks for the tips. Very cute pillow. I just started cross stitch this year so I'm always on the hunt for ideas. Liked your ideas on making your own cording and stitching on tiny pom pom trim too.

    I've never seen with interfacing. What is it used for?? My sewing skills are minimal. Thanks!! 😉

    • @helend.flosstube
      @helend.flosstube  Рік тому +1

      The interfacing gives the fabric a little stability and helps protect your stitches when you're stuffing the pillow.

  • @margaretblank9351
    @margaretblank9351 Рік тому

    Question: why don't you just use straight pins to attach the ribbon? No waste, no sticky interference sewing on the button...Just curious. Thanks!

    • @helend.flosstube
      @helend.flosstube  Рік тому

      The first time I added a ribbon I didn't add a button and I didn't want it to droop or be loose, so I tried the tape. Now it's just my go to method. Old habits are hard to break! 😉
