I would love to have a stitching friend!! I love your motivation to stitch everyday. I have good intentions to stitch daily, but it doesn't happen. I just keep buying more projects! 😅
Hi Helen Loved the recap of your stitchy retreat. You sound like you really had a wonderful time and a lot of fun seeing and meeting new people there. In the meantime Happy Stitching and be safe and kind. God bless Pat
I had the best time at the Library Stitchers Retreat! I met so many wonderful people and really enjoyed meeting you Helen 😊. I feel so lucky to have picked your smalls exchange gift. Your work and creativity is impeccable. Hope to see you at more retreats!
I love to see all of the goodies shared at the retreat. Such fun! Thank you for sharing the chart you did for the retreat. I have gone to one retreat and loved it!
Sounds like you had an amazing time Helen, it is fun to be surprised, sweet goody bag and items so nice, fun designs, your design you created is lovely. Nice new stash, cute bag, nice exchange gifts, it's so much fun getting exchanges, in Blue Earth Mn, there is a giant Jolly Green Giant, he is a hoot, love the clutch. You have truly been gifted.
Thank you Helen for this recap. What a fun gathering. I’m so happy for Missy & Kathy to have such a successful first attempt at hosting a retreat. Wish I lived close by.
Sounds like it was a wonderful time! Always nice to be with stitch people and get a little something done while making new friends! Thanks for sharing, Helen.
I loved this recap, Helen. I’ve never been to a retreat, but it is something I am sure I would love. Oh my! Stitching by the Sea is a must have! SO cute!
Fantastic video, Helen! What a successful first retreat by the group. Sounds like everyone had a great time. Retreats are definitely must-attend events for stitchers.
I have never been to a stitching retreat. I would love to attend one. I did get to go to Hobby House Needleworks in Victor, NY yesterday. Oh my their new store is amazing. I had a blast. It is a store worth traveling to. Tomorrow I get to go to Keepsakes Stitching I am so excited to visit that store. Have a great week. I am so glad you got to enjoy a retreat.
LOL - Scott walked into the room while I was watching this asking me why I was yelling, 'ME! ME! It was MEEEEE!!!" Had the BEST time - see you in June!
Thank you for the lighthouse pattern. I'm stitching it today. Wow, the retreat sounded amazing. Your goodie bag looked like Christmas. Its always fun to meet new stitchy friends.
It was SUCH a treat to get to meet you, and thank you for the chart!! I’m looking forward to working on it ASAP once I’m done with another large “secret” chart… hope to see you again should they decide to do this again next year!!
I enjoyed hearing about this retreat and you can sign me up as well if they do it again. I haven’t been to Maine in years and need a vacation in that area.
Sounded fun! I'm fortunate that the one retreat I go to is a short drive from my house as well. I love the little design you created for the retreat! Glad you had a good time😊
Great update. Such awesome gifts you came home with. Sounds like you had a fantastic time. Now I’m on the search for that “whipper keeper” pattern. I’ve been looking for something like that since I got back into cross stitching. And now my floss tube following list is growing. 🤭👏🏼💝
If you search cross stitch project folder there are a few different patterns that come up. Elizabeth Ann Can Stitch also did a tutorial for a bigger folder. ua-cam.com/video/9gxv0T-96_M/v-deo.html
Had a wonderful time, i’m sure you don’t remember, but I asked for your advice on a chart which I will take. Thank you. Patiently waiting and fingers crossed that they decide to do it again.🤗
Thanks for sharing your recap! I believe Zipper Valley, on line, has printed vinyl, if you were interested. I'm part of a stitch group that started at an LNS, moved online due to Covid and now we hold our own annual retreat for ourselves. ❤
Glad you enjoyed your retreat and to be so close to home too. Aren’t Justine and Shelley from Welcome Stitchery a hoot? Love the green sprout. Blue Earth has so many cute 4ft tall sprouts all over town in various designs. Welcome Stitchery in Minnesota is my local LNS even though I’m about 1-1/2 hrs away. By the end of this month they will be the only one left in the state as a huge one much closer to me is closing due to losing their lease and then the decision to not relocate but retire. 😢Happy Stitching!!!
That’s sounds like so much fun. I attended my first retreat on Saturday. It was a virtual retreat. It was okay, but it makes me want to attend an in person one. There is one here in Tulsa in July hosted by The Silver Needle. I’m thinking hard about it. The price is fair, but it’s still expensive and I just paid our taxes for last year, LOL. 💸 We did a smalls exchange and everyone who participated did such an excellent job on their gifts. That was the most fun part to me. My person actually found my birthday in Facebook and stitched a March themed pattern. 🥰
Great recap! I am attending my first stitch retreat in September! It is local, less than 30 minutes drive, but I plan to stay the weekend! There is a wonderfully large community here in So. CA with meetings every weekend at various locations, usually at a Panara Bread.
Sounds like SUCH a fun time....hope they have it again next year. I wonder which library they meet at....maybe Lithgow in Augusta....do you know! I'm going to stitch your Maine freebie you designed....love it.
Thanks so much for the retreat update! Would love to to get to Maine someday for a visit. Could you tell me who made the project folder? I know you mentioned Stephanie but like more information as I have been looking for this style of bag & would like to order one. Thank you so much for all you do for the cross stitch community! Always enjoy when Emie makes an appearance as we have a cat who could be her twin.
The folder was make by Stephanie, who is The New England Stitcher on youtube and the_new_england_stitcher on instagram. She doesn't have a site to sell just yet, but if you reach out to her I believe she does custom orders if she has time.
So glad you mentioned the 324 floss drop in your regular floss tube and it’s already on its way to a friend! question- how do you know how long a good floss winder should be?
It really depends on how long you like your threads. You wind the floss around and then cut one end, so your floss ends up being double the length of the winder.
Thank you for sharing retreat happiness and your design. The baggies, needle minders, folders remind me I need those and a Mr Brussel Sprout 😂 Enjoyed the video, the spread of kindness, thank you. Edit: Please could you tell me if the Pride and Prejudice available for sale? I've had a peek around but have failed to find it under Stitching Wren :(
Stitching Ren is one of Annie Beez daughters, Chelsea. I'm not sure if she's going to release the chart, but you could reach out to her on instagram and ask. She's stitching.ren
Great recap of the retreat, Helen. I have been to only one retreat in my life and that was last year's stitch New England, where I met you!! I am unable to go to any retreats this year but hope to get to one in 2025 ....I don't think I've ever had as much fun as I did at that retreat in 2023! I get together with about 10 to 12 women once a month in Leominster, Massachusetts at Panera.... It's such a nice way to just come together and stitch and chat and relax!! Thanks for all of your great videos!!🌺🌺🌷🌷
I'm really hoping they do another retreat - it just didn't work with my commitments this year, but there were so many people there that I would love to meet in person that I would make it a priority another year! 🪡👠
Looks like it was a great time! I haven’t been to a retreat since 2015 and I miss them. Those bags and project keepers look amazing.
Hi Helen! I had a great time at the retreat also and I sure hope they do it again!
It was so great to meet you in person and give you a hug!!!! 💜💜
Thanks for the recap. What a fun time. I also like to see what things people have made for table gifts. It gives me some great ideas.
The Library Stitchers Retreat sounds like it was fantastic! What a wonderful time!
Thanks for the recap! I go to my local senior center to stitch once a week. It's a mixed fiber group, so I get to see all sorts of stitching.
The retreat was so fun. Thanks so much for walking around to all the tables. It was nice to meet you.
I love walking around and seeing what everyone is stitching on!
I would love to have a stitching friend!! I love your motivation to stitch everyday. I have good intentions to stitch daily, but it doesn't happen. I just keep buying more projects! 😅
Ditto! Hang on to those intentions… you’ll get there! 🎉
Some days it's hard to find the time. And buying is much quicker. 😂

The library retreat sounds fun!!! BUT, that bunny bag with carrots is too cute for words!!! I LOVE rabbits!!!!! 😍😍😍
Sounds like you had an amazing time Helen, it is fun to be surprised, sweet goody bag and items so nice, fun designs, your design you created is lovely.

Fun recap! Going to my first retreat this summer and can’t wait!!
You're going to love it!
I loved this recap, Helen. I’ve never been to a retreat, but it is something I am sure I would love. Oh my! Stitching by the Sea is a must have! SO cute!
The model was so adorable!
This totally could be my reply. Same! Same!

You too! It's always fun to be next to the party table. 🤣
The retreat sounds like it was so amazing. It's definitely one i would be tempted to sign up for even though it's across the country.
I have never been to a stitching retreat. I would love to attend one.

I've heard that their store is amazing! That sounds like a fun stitchy road trip!
Great video Helen. I stitched more than I thought I would too. I tend to gab a lot. 😂
That might be the most stitching I've ever done at a retreat! 😂
Sounds like a great retreat! Thanks for sharing with us all!🫎
LOL - Scott walked into the room while I was watching this asking me why I was yelling, 'ME! ME! It was MEEEEE!!!" Had the BEST time - see you in June!

That's fantastic! I hope you had a good time!
I am looking forward to seeing you make some jam from that book!
It has some good recipes!
Thank you for the lighthouse pattern. I'm stitching it today.

Sounds like such a fun time and such amazing gifts from people! Lucky you to be close to these events.
For a while it seemed like there was nothing in New England, but we're catching up!
Omg I am working on stitches on the sea! Just finished the top!!!
The model was just too cute!
How kind of you to share your chart! So glad you had fun! Reading is my first and favorite hobby so meeting in a library sounds divine!

That's too bad. I hate hearing about shops closing. Yes, they were a hoot!
Wonderful recap! I just attended my first retreat and found it a little overwhelming, and terrific fun! I still haven't calmed down! LOL
It's definitely a lot to take in!

Sounds like a fun retreat. I'd love to join you, but until I retire, I probably won't be able to get away during the academic year.
Honestly it's hard for me to get away during the school year too, and I don't even teach!
Great recap! I am attending my first stitch retreat in September! It is local, less than 30 minutes drive, but I plan to stay the weekend! There is a wonderfully large community here in So. CA with meetings every weekend at various locations, usually at a Panara Bread.

I’m going to my first retreat in July in New Jersey. It’s great cause it is only about 45 minutes from my house.
That sounds perfect!
Sounds like SUCH a fun time....hope they have it again next year. I wonder which library they meet at....maybe Lithgow in Augusta....do you know! I'm going to stitch your Maine freebie you designed....love it.
I think they meet somewhere in the Farmington area. There is a group that meets at the Augusta Panera though.
