    I haven’t flown a Cutty Black for ages and I was really impressed how easy it was to load up with resources. It easily carries a cargo ships contents back to base. But also the firepower and manoeuvrability was brilliant for killing NPC Xenothreat ships from Arrows to Vanguards and Valkyries. In my opinion it’s a much more rounded and capable Xenothreat ship than the C1 for 2 players.

    I bought a Pulse LX as a LTI token, and got some M2 and and Eclipse ccus as well. I have no interest in playing the game anymore. I did the Overdrive event and that was fun while it lasted, but the game needs soo so much more content that its not fun.
    It feels like over half the employees at CIG works in marketing while just a couple of people are working on the actual game. Other titles launch big meaningful/impactful patches weekly/monthly, and CIG could not even get this small patch out without half the content still not fixed! Richard Tyrer said we should expect big quarterly patches, but i keep looking around but i can not see anything.

    Huge thanks I totally missed the sales and I REALLY needed those M2 CCU's. 😍

    The Ironclad can be expected to be less reliable than the M2, and the M2 will probably fly circles around an Ironclad. So, if you value flight characteristics and a higher chance of completing your activities, then the M2 is the clear winner. If you value cargo carrying capacity and overall utility above a ship's flight performance and reliability, then the Ironclad is the clear winner. But, if you can afford both, then CIG is the clear winner. However, if you buy these in-game, then you're the clear winner. 😅

      Not convinced about the reliability comment. The Herc will have superior flight capabilities but the Ironclad will be a tougher ship overall. It will need a bigger crew compliment though.

      @@pheebs8451 Likewise, I don't understand the reliability comment either. The way the Ironclad is described seems to imply the opposite - it's supposed to be able to take a lot of punishment.

      @@JL-rj9fl in SC lore, Drake is known to be the least reliable ship manufacturer, and CIG has stated that Drake ships are intended to need repair from normal wear and tear at a higher frequency than all other ship manufacturers. This will be implemented through rebalancing after additional game features are added, like engineering and repair.

    • @JL-rj9fl
      @JL-rj9fl 2 місяці тому

      @@citizeninja At the same time, the lore also states that their ships are reliable, there's also evidence they're easy to service and maintain. I haven't seen whatever you're referencing (I have no reason to believe it isn't true though, as CIG does change things). I remember Thorsten talking about engineering and how you might need to do some maintenance once a week to prevent issues (not something you'd do every game session). I believe his response was to a question about how Engineering could affect a solo player. It was in one of the ISCs where he also talked about mining I believe.
      Perhaps this means you do maintenance on a Drake ship once every 5 days instead of 7 to prevent problems? Does reliability in Star Citizen really matter much if the owner of the ship keeps their ship maintained and uses the same brand and model of components?
      I own a Hercules myself and don't think the reliability is going to make much difference in the grand scheme of things if the owner takes care of their equipment.

      @@citizeninja While my son was going to bed I did find the information I was thinking of. I had to dig a little, but it was from an old Drake Interplanetary portfolio article. We're talking really old at this point, it's dated January 8, 2014. Due to the age, it talks about the Cutlass and how it's not as reliable as an RSI ship, but still reliable. So really, it basically tracks with what you're saying. The easy to service thing I had remembered turned out to be a description of the Buccaneer. I'd love to check out what your source is though, I'm always interested in learning more to stay better informed.

    I found the C1 really good for the cargo side of XT. Good speed for the yellow (no Qt resource) and good (stock) for getting them greens to the drop point at a nice pace.
    9:44 You aren't getting a good deal (atm) with the Sentinel, it now has half the health of the base model, with no added manoeuvring benefits (other then a small farward speed increase).

    I was waiting for the M2 sale during ILW, glad it finally dropped. The C1 with the tractor beam worked really well during Xenothreat.

    The reliant would work if they just shortened the wings. If they could make it fit in size 2 metrics it would be pretty good.

    The new 5k min lock range and lower speed for the large Torps with regard to the Eclipse has me hovering over the melt button ☹️

    • @xm153088
      @xm153088 2 місяці тому +1

      I have the Eclipse, Retaliator, and CCU for the Polaris. The torp speeds are really low. It will really take a miracle to have a torp slip past any half attentive player. I had 4 torps shot down by an AI Redeemer a couple weeks ago in a single bounty. If AI can be that accurate, I imagine players will just laugh at any headed their way.

    • @JL-rj9fl
      @JL-rj9fl 2 місяці тому

      @@xm153088 I'd balance torpedoes so you could launch them in a passive mode, at a longer range (if you want to). You could set them to go into an active intercept mode at a desired distance to greatly increase their speed and make them much more difficult to evade. They should be something that capital ships fear! Much like torpedo attacks on ships in the real world, they should take some serious evasive action to avoid. At the same time, make torpedoes mostly ineffective against medium or smaller ships. This could perhaps be something that's defined by the torpedo itself and targets it is designed to strike. The Torpedoes also could potentially re-lock on to targets if they miss depending on maximum range. For example, the torpedo has fuel and depending on distance to target when you fired it, it could go back into a search pattern after missing to re-acquire the target until the torpedo runs out of fuel or is destroyed. They could perhaps have settings for proximity detonation verses direct impact, etc.

    I'll be sincere, buying all those ships is completely irratiomal. Having said that if CIG does ONE thing right is those ships, such amazong assets. That's why I got the Ironclad Assault, it's just such a cool toy.

    To be clear though. The tali is the farthest thing from a stealth ship. The datamined Polaris had lower signatures. It's pretty much up there with the hammerhead and carrack

    • @JL-rj9fl
      @JL-rj9fl 2 місяці тому +1

      The best assumptions we can make at this point is what CIG describes the role of a ship to be. We can't really put a lot of faith in datamined information until balance passes take place.
