Hello I just apply for Amazon flex I was searching videos here in UA-cam to get learn more about it I see your videos are really good to learn from it I have a question I know they say if you have a 4 hours block if you finish early you still get pay for the the whole 4 hours but if you finish late then 4 hours say you got done in 5 hours because things happen I know you won’t get pay for the extra hour but I want to know because you finish hour late would you get in trouble or can get you deactivated? I hope not because anything can happen to get you late please let me know ASAP thank you 🙏
I decided to try out Amazon Flex for the first time this week. The first route I get is in downtown Charlotte NC. That experience was a living nightmare, learning how to do flex while delivering the worst possible route. No parking, 15 different apartments with lockers, not a single drop-off with 2 packages, etc. It took me 4.5 hours to deliver 32 packages in what was supposed to be 3.5 hours, for $63. This experience has really made me not want to ever do Flex again. Part of me wants to think that this is a rare occurrence delivering downtown, but honestly, I don't want to take the risk trying it again. Absolutely one of the worst jobs I've ever had. I probably won't do this again until I have some say in where I am delivering.
If your area has amazon prime now i would suggest that one! I LOVE amazon flex, to me its one of the best side hustles ever! I deliver the groceries to homes, apartments, condo apt, etc. and its awesome, i always finish about 45mins-an hour earlier almost every single time! It’s great! DTX
This last sentence is my sentiment exactly. I live in Ft Worth, TX. I was given an Amazon fresh route that took me all the way to Dallas-over an hour-away with 21 heavy, overfilled, bursting paper bags. I don't drive to Dallas unless I ABSOLUTELY have to. After that miserable route I uninstalled that flex app. I may give it another go since they opened a facility near me. I always keep my options open.
Even if the customer lives in an apartment complex and says to bring it the customer, and there's a mail room/locker/receptionist. I'll always drop it off to the mail room, locker, receptionist. Mark the location (mail room/locker) or the receptionist's name (always ask for the receptionist's name or look at their name tag). Liabilities is on building management team, not on you.
I feel your pain having those worst shifts and complicated areas. I don't have those types but do have the challenges of extreme rural with no lights, long and dark driveways, no numbers on mailboxes , negotiating with the wildlife and such. I started studying the pattern of the warehouse and how they bring those bins out for flex deliveries. Get there early to scope things out. So far I discovered if I am the first to fifth car in line, I get the most closest areas to the warehouse. I lucked out twice this week by having deliveries within 5 miles of my house. Keep it up we will get it down pat soon.
Been doing Amazon flex just a couple of months. And i pretty much got it to a T. But the only thing i hate the most are the apartments deliveries. I deliver here in the Bay Area. Specifically in Silicon Valley. And they have those really complicated complex. Where theres 2 types i.e. circle or terrace. I hate these, coz its the same address but you have to really look at the address if its in the circle or terrace. I had a customer complained about not getting their package. And i think its one of those addresses 🤦🏻♂️
Also, had a late delivery per Amazon 2 days ago for Wholefoods, due to rain again & pouring at last house, I nearly broke my back, reaching in back of car to last grab bags & scan, my delivery time was 1:20-3pm, I delivered at exactly 3:00pm, Amazon marked it late. WTF!
I had a delivery to the downtown and I thought it was the worse ever until they sent me to an area called Shingle spring and it was the reason I quit delivering for Amazon. Do you know what the most frustrating thing is? When I learned that there are some flex drivers who had developed friendships with the associates in the distribution center, so they get the easiest routes available.
Yah today I refused to do a shift after receiving my rack because it was going to take me two three different cities for 40+ stops. The employees were not helpful at all either they wouldn’t even scan my packages back in thinking I’d change my mind so I just left them there.
Wowwww! I just got a cart with 45 heavy packages on it and looked over next to me at a girl who only had 10 small envelopes on her cart so that makes perfect sense!
I just got hired for the Amazon Delivery Driver position and now I have a good idea of what the job is about. I really appreciate the time you took to make this video. Thank you.
It is much more labor intensive but it’s a high reward high risk situation. I’ve had $80, 3 hour blocks which is pretty solid but the chances of getting a ridiculously far route with 40+ packages is very likely. So likely in fact that it’s made it so I was driving further than my dollar amount meaning I was losing money. Unlike door dash you don’t just get to decline it, it’s like pulling teeth to cancel a route and it effects you very negatively. And you cannot get a mother rack if you cancel your days done.
@Greg F. Damn, I meant to type $63 lol. Not off! My hub is in Col Springs, and most routes are in Pueblo, 50 miles each way. They should pay $110 for those routes.
@Greg F. just sent an email demanding more pay for everybody. They may do it or shut down the whole program. Maybe if more people sent similar emails to executive levels something will change.
@Greg F. And I make $29hr as a concrete finisher, I just do this for extra cash. If the whole program shuts down because I demanded more money than OH WELL
I do Amazon Flex in Connecticut. It’s really easy over here. It’s very residential but at the same time it’s not a downtown sh** show. Definitely wouldn’t recommend Amazon Flex for anyone who is at a location where your deliveries have a good chance of being in downtown area.
I work as a Amazon delivery driver in Brooklyn ny and my best advice for the buildings is just leave the packages downstairs by the mailboxes, if not you gonna take forever going from one apartment to another especially if you have multiple deliveries in that building ( I made that mistake during my first 2 weeks on the job)
Yes I agree. I was a amazon driver in Louisiana and I would leave the packages in the leasing offices. You would be all day going from apartment to apartment.
I live in an apartment. When I ordered from DD I put an explanation of how to get to my apartment. They guy had no problems finding it. I do Shipt so I know that it helps to explain to make things easier. Apartments are annoying! 😣
Thank you for keeping it real... being too the point... I just needed to know how it works Now knowing that I am unable to know where I’m delivering packages prior to accepting is a no go for me! Thanks for the information!
Gate codes are the WORST! *Unless you talk to a guard to let you in imo* . I remember a few shifts ago from door dashing, I had a one time use gate code, and someone cut me off as soon as the gate opened.
The app actually brought me to the wrong apartment complex and I had to drive all the way around the city block just to access the other complex and finish my last delivery of the day. Definitely not kool.
Here in Akron Ohio I helped my wife do a 3 hour shift for $63 but total miles was almost 62! To me that’s not worth it at all. We had 1 zone then drove 31 minutes to the next. It was only 16 packages but that’s a lot of miles for the pay 💰
I am still driving even though I was put down to fair for a rating because I delivered an amazon fresh delivery a few minutes late, however the reason it was late is because amazon fresh employees didn't have the order ready until 30 minutes after they were supposed to but I get punished.🙄
@@bartonarchuleta204 I have an interview for a UPS personal vehicle driver tomorrow. It is a w2 job, 40hrs a week, $19hr plus .53 a mile. Hell of a lot better than Flex. If I drive 100 miles, I can an extra $50 with UPS. Can't hurt to try.
Flex is a giant scam! They should be paying minimum $100 for 4 hour blocks, $150 realistically. That's the only way to make it worthwhile at all, unless you're driving a stolen car and steal your gas too 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They arent the employers, you are self employed contractor freelance worker. Im sure their own employees get those types of wages but flex is an excellent side hustle paying around 18-24 bucks after taxes
My first route was horrible- delivery area was 45 miles away, what was supposed to be 3.5hr shift took me 6 hours. Just to get there and back was almost 2 hours, not counting deliveries.
For the access problem, I recommend that you look at the customers name and attempt to find it on the call box, if it isn’t there and u tried calling the customer, just return . It’ll take less time than sitting there contemplating.
I stopped all the gig jobs and just applied to work as an amazon driver. Things are great on my end. Personally side hussle never worked for me, I rather have something stable and a set schedule and be part of a team even if we don't Interact except for safety morning meetings due to covid. Good luck to everyone else out there.
I have so many problems like this deliveries food in san diego . When customer live in apartments or condos . Dont leave unit Number on note and doesnt reply back to you after 3-5 minutes..wasting so much time for a few dollars drop off
Yesterday was my first day with Amazon flex and I was really disappointed because when I signed up the app said: “you pick up in Carrollton and you deliver in Carrollton”, so I chose a route that I like it because is a place I know and because was my first day I wanted something kind of easy to try to figured out how this app works and when I picked up my packages I had to go to Downtown Dallas which is very chaotic with a crazy traffic and I was really stress out because of that. I drive with VEHO (does basically the same thing than Amazon) and is really simple and friendly process. I always avoid downtown like you (I drive Instacart, postmates, DoorDash) but i had to go there and I hated it. I don’t know, I’m really dissatisfied with Amazon flex, is like they lied to me at the beginning and it’s not cool
I also live in the DFW area and have been doing a little Amazon Flex - specifically Lewisville so this isn't something I should be doing that often since I always have to drive far, and even the ones that started out in Lewisville had sent me out 30 miles away to small towns with bad roads and sometimes bad phone reception! And I also did one that started out in Carrollton last week but that one took me all the way to Fort worth! Definitely not worth it unless maybe you live near an Amazon Prime station so you can also gets tips for your deliveries.
I live in dfw area, north Arlington, and flex is awesome to me! I ONLY do prime now which is the grocery delivery and to me its probably one of the best side hustles i could get into! I usually finish about 45min-an hour earlier and its worth it to me. The most i have to have driven back home is 48mins, but thats including traffic no tolls. So it’s different for everyone but my advice try the grocery delivery its sooooo easy. Well, some* apartments are lil weird but usually there all luxury apartments
I live in Chula Vista, literally 6 miles from that warehouse in national city, but i go to the one in Poway, 35 miles away. Why? Exactly because of this video: to avoid a route to downtown san diego 😂 all deliveries I get over there are homes with easy access.
actually if these are going to Apt Buildings then you are so lucky since they tend always have a place to drop off packages and easy access to parking due to white parking zones
If you go over your shift time. You can call when your on the last stop and let them know you ran over time because of traffic or whatever the reason was and they will pay you a little extra for your time. It’s happened to me a few times because of traffic. Not very often though.
Poor Mike. Amazon Flex is just too difficult for $63?. What I like about DoorDash and Shipt is the “Unicorns” with DoorDash. Unicorns are hidden big tips and it does happen. With Shipt, I have received many large tips. Unlike Instacart, the customers don’t zero out your tips on Shipt, and the company doesn’t accuse you of things you didn’t do! Worst app: Postmates has got to be the all time worst. Lousy tips, hidden mileage, addresses, pay, and double orders that postmates “adds” to your current order. I cannot believe anyone would drive for them. And the pay? It’s horrible. I said goodbye after delivering 2 orders 15 miles for 7.89 (combined) and zero tips on both.
Yes! I drive for postmates two or three times but I hated the thing I didn’t how much money I’m going to get it how many miles I have to drive or where I’m going. So, I didn’t do it anymore, I’m driving with Instacart, DoorDash, VEHO and pickup point. Tried with Flex but I didn’t like it either
🤣😭😂 I came across your video. I am a DA driver. 150+ stops 200 pkges. Lockers/parcel lockers soo easy, apts tiring but I got use to it. Gate codes/ 1clicks garages/ gate openers so cool. Advise run Forest run. And say woosah. Tip: Loading is key and organization.
I do deliveries for AF/Wholefoods & how issues with app everytime, even with delivery blocks but worse with bags from WF's. Always slow to scan QR code before delivery & app freezes while driving to customers location. You have same issues with the app?
I currently do Uber eats and try my best not to deliver to downtown Washington DC, too much traffic, no parking, high rise buildings, codes to enter & depending on the time of day it’s just too hectic! ! It does pay better but I rather stay on the Virginia side.
have u ever done amazon fresh? Ive heard it pays better because of tips and isnt as crazy as flex. Not sure if youve done a video that before but would be cool to see that journey.
What to if recipient must be present but absolutely no one is, do I leave the package and take picture and would I get in trouble since no one is present honest opinion?
Hi Justin, use your best judgement based on delivery notes. For example I've had signature required packages from FedEx that I wish they just left at the door. However if you see very specific notes that say "do not leave at door, I must be present" I would return the package to the warehouse.
I never deliver packages. HORRIBLE JOB. I only deliver food. I average $30-35 an hour with tips. Food delivery maybe 6-10 stops. However sometimes you do get ghetto area deliveries. Those are always bad. No tips. Plus you always have to lock your car
Hey everyone, I just started driving for Amazon Flex. Could you give me some suggestions on how to sort out the packages so that I can find it quicker. Some people have told me to sort it by region, but don't really know what that means. Could you give me a few more suggestions on how to sort the packages while driving for Amazon Flex. Thanks.
I’ve done a few flex routes and I’ve noticed the drivers aid numbers (the yellow stickers) are numbered in order idk if it’s always like that but try that next time. Just go thru your itinerary and see what packages goes to each stop if the numbers are in order that makes it a whole lot easier
They should pay much more for downtown and apartment deliveries. So far I've only delivered to subdivisions for .com orders and only had apartments for WF but they were a max of three floors and easy to get in and out of.
True maybe some 'peak pay' for delivering downtown or in congested areas. They avoid this but not telling you where you'll deliver to until you scan your rack of packages.
Saddly here in LA Downtown is where the money is. I used to avoid it because of the parking situation. Then again I'm talking Uber eats. Packages must be another story
Lol I do it every day, 2 shifts a day. 25-40 pkgs? That’s nothing compared to delivering 300pkgs a day for a dsp lol. I finish 3hr routes for $70-$90 in 1-1.5hr.
@@Allergic2Nonsense trust me, if that were true for me I wouldn’t be doing it lol. Making minimum $150/day in less than 6hrs and spending about $35-$40 filling up my car every 4 days or so is not bad a bad ratio at all
Question: How can they have Amazon flex in savannah ga, but not have a warehouse for Amazon? I'm gonna do Amazon flex when I turn 21 in a few months and I wanted my boyfriend to do the Amazon warehouse worker but every job website says that there is no Amazon warehouse in Savannah or even close to us, but they have Amazon flex in Savannah thoe....? I don't understand lol Hopefully the question makes sense....
I'm currently still trying to switch from San Diego to Pittsburgh. They're just not bringing on drivers in Pittsburgh yet so I'm still on the wait list. Pretty easy other than that though
They don't tell you the routes until you get to the warehouse. Most jobs here take you to the next city, Pueblo. Last night I drove 120 miles for $63...
I drove for amazon the big blue vans lol worse thing ever in concord north Carolina routes were spread so far out hated it also drove in Charleston sc way better and put together
Hi Brandi, there are no tips on Amazon.com shifts. You are eligible for tips on Whole Foods and Prime Now shifts, you will see expected tip amounts on these shifts ✌🏻
Awesome and very insightful updates well I will also say this here.. Even as the covid-19 outbreak seems to slow the economy recently, a lot of people rushed into investing in crypto currencies due to the recent rise in the value of Bitcoin which attracted many investors to the field of digital currencies. However, the road to successful Bitcoin trading still depends on trading with a working strategy/daily signals properly backed with guidance provided by Jason McQueen whose strategy/signals yielded great success so far. During my first month of trading I was able to grow my portfolio from 1.2btc to total of 6.8byc which you will say is a very good profits, no time is ever too late to start buying and growing a very strong portfolio ahead of major bull market. Apartments are my worst nightmare. I always have to hustle residents to help me out. Houses are sooo much easier.
I hate delivering anything to an appartment too
Apt mazes suck
Yeah I hate doing apartments too. Sometimes you can't get in or the hubs are full.
download "beans" app, apartments become a breeze after that.

Tip: Loading is key and organization.
it would be ideal if you would payed boosted prices per zone, depending on the difficulty level and miles
That filter for not wanting to deliver in certain areas sounds cool for driver but a complete nightmare for Amazon’s operations
Amazon needs more money
The only problem I have is that It sends me 40mins aways today. I have to drive 140 miles there and back. Miss a delivery. It does not work for me.
Hi can u tell me more about this job do u do this in ur car or they give u a car I like this job and can u tell me where to start from
the lockers worked well for me but the One-Click access did not work at all. I could hear it trying to unlock the door, but nothing happened.
It sounds like the only problems are apartment complex.
Why do they deliver at night? Businesses are open during the day? Sounds like it’s not worth it.
downtown areas needs to pay like a bonus or something like that
Delivery in compact areas or areas where it's going to take time they should pay you more. But sadly I doubt that's going to happen.
this is why i only do Amazon Fresh. 30-50 packages, 7-10 stops. $70+
I agree but the fresh routes have time limits and can hurt your driver ratings if not delivered in time.
San dieeegooo!!!! Alright!!! 👍🏾🙂💪🏽
have u ever done amazon fresh? Ive heard it pays better because of tips and isnt as crazy as flex. Not sure if youve done a video that before but would be cool to see that journey.
I do both Instacart & Amazonflex/Wholefoods deliveries. Wholefoods customer's tip better than Instacart & no bullshit rating issues like IC
Flex doesn't do fresh, maybe once a week. Flex pays $5hr after gas and taxes. Last night I did 120 miles for $73. Lol wtf
You should be locking your car regardless when you aren’t inside
If an offer says $54 for 3 hours and you get done before 3 hours, do you still get paid for the full 3 or just what you actually worked? Thanks!
You get fully paid. Even if your delivery would end in one hour (it can happen sometimes), you will get the full amount which was offered.
Sometimes you just have to take the crap runs to get the good ones. Not every day is as bad as that one or you wouldn't have done it for 2 years.
Actually first time in recent memory that I've even been assigned a downtown shift so it's not all bad
this is really strange, my friend Melissa used to do Flex, she could specifically pick areas she wanted (from what was available)
At level 2 you are able to pick place and time
Saddly here in LA Downtown is where the money is. I used to avoid it because of the parking situation. Then again I'm talking Uber eats. Packages must be another story
Especially on Amazon Flex I can imagine download LA has to be very difficult when it comes to parking
in Riverside the one click access is hit or miss
@Kaitlin Bunge mostly the sedan cars
@Kaitlin Bunge there's a station in Temecula I've had to deliver to Temecula before
San Diego downtown is the worst area for delivery
It all sounds like a nightmare. I’ll pass.
Depends where you live
U definitely gonna get your cardio in doing Amazon flex. I do it twice a wk, that's all I can take.🤦🏽♂️
Lol I do it every day, 2 shifts a day.
25-40 pkgs? That’s nothing compared to delivering 300pkgs a day for a dsp lol. I finish 3hr routes for $70-$90 in 1-1.5hr.
@@Eye4eye007 totally not worth the money bro. U burn more gas money vs the amount of time & amount u get paid.
I don't understand lol
Hopefully the question makes sense....
Maybe they're near completion on building a new facility near you
We have no warehouse in my area. But we have whole food. They are profitable blocks. Due to the fact every drop has the option to tip
Amazon is in Rincon
You put everything in a video that I experience as a Fedex express driver... I’m glad someone understands 😏
It’s it easy to transfer to different cites?
I'm currently still trying to switch from San Diego to Pittsburgh. They're just not bringing on drivers in Pittsburgh yet so I'm still on the wait list. Pretty easy other than that though
Can you decline a route if you feel its too far away for comfort?
They don't tell you the routes until you get to the warehouse. Most jobs here take you to the next city, Pueblo. Last night I drove 120 miles for $63...
18 floors - it’s good exercise! 💪🏻
Ever been to a destination that doesn't exist? How bout being sent to the fire engine only exit of apartments which is always locked? Lol
How far was the delivery area from your house?
8.4 miles (12 minutes) from my house to the National City warehouse then to downtown
Very Detailed 👍🍺
Once you do a drop can you do another in the same day ?
A shift? Yes you can do multiple shifts in the same day
@@YourDriverMike is there a maximum amount you can do?
Say I wanted to try and earn £500 plus a week is this achieveable ?
I drove for amazon the big blue vans lol worse thing ever in concord north Carolina routes were spread so far out hated it also drove in Charleston sc way better and put together
Are tips included in the pay
Hi Brandi, there are no tips on Amazon.com shifts. You are eligible for tips on Whole Foods and Prime Now shifts, you will see expected tip amounts on these shifts ✌🏻
Hi Mike !

Yo yo what up mike!
Thanks for joining Jemel!

@Kaitlin Bunge no. I went back to work no time
The gig economy is a joke. Get a real job
Damn bro you complain a lot. Lol
That’s exactly how my car looks like with those duffel bags 😎
Delivery catering bag, trunk organizer and pizza bags 😎
